If you have ever yearned to awaken in Paradise and be treated like you are the most important person in the room all day long, this is your destination. From the welcome drink overlooking the sapphire sea, to the cool towels, the greeting by name, the attention to room requests, and the gorgeous setting, this is the place to let all the cares of the world slip away and realize your needs matter most. The staff at every venue remembers you and provides perfect attention to your needs. The food is exceptional and beautifully presented. The activities are exhilarating and the staff ensures you achieve some mastery of each activity. I travelled here with my daughter for a mother/daughter getaway and we felt safe, pampered, and joyful the entire visit. While we intended just to relax, we ended up trying our hand at the shore fishing, where the staff assisted us in catching a fish - which they then offered to prepare for dinner! I tried the free salsa dancing lessons, the yoga, and for the first time, the aerial yoga with Guermo, which was incredible. If you have a chance and want to defy gravity, give that specialized activity a shot and ask for Guermo - he was amazing. We indulged in the spa, and the Punta Mita massage, complete with tequila rubdown is a must! In a world full of negativity, I cannot think of one negative comment about this hotel. If you have a bucket list, put this at the top. The only thing that I would recommend to ensure it is the absolute best experience, is to book your trip through whatahotel.com and ask for Richie to assist you. I have been working with him for years on my vacation planning and he is one good reason that travel agents/assistants still have much value in this world. He will make sure you are taken care of and the extra amenities they offer are exceptional. Don't even hesitate one moment to book a stay here. I will never stay anywhere else in Mexico, and can't wait to return.
The Four Seasons Hotel was beautiful and the staff were so attentive. The high level of customer service is why we will definitely be coming back again soon! Each day was a wonderful experience that we will never forget!
My family & I go to Mexico at least once a year to different spots. This trip changed the way I view vacations, absolutely amazing, staff is incredible. They made my kids & wife feel very special. Can't wait to go back :)
Beautiful sunsets at Punta Mita compound that included several luxury hotels, St Regis, 4 Seasons etc. Bed comfort was just ok, a little disappointed for a luxury hotel. Service was top notch, location top notch, food was top notch but definitely on the high side of most people's budget. If money is no object and don't mind a subpar bed this is your place, I think there are better places at lower price points nearby.
We just got back last night from an amazing six days, five nights at this resort. We previously have stayed at the Four Seasons Palm Beach but Punta Mita blew that out of the water! Resort: -Flat out gorgeous. Grounds are immaculate and perfectly maintained -Large resort felt very private and never crowded at all due to the large number of "areas" throughout. -Pools were clean and well-attended -Beachfront was beautiful although water was a bit rough at times--no problems though -We were upgraded to an oceanfront room and it was lovely. Although not a large room, it was certainly more than adequate for our needs. -Location is very safe and secluded Staff -Four Seasons plus quality! Not a single rotten apple and we met a TON of FS staff members. Everyone is super friendly and accommodating. Hats off in particular to Manuel, Oliverio and Gustavo at Ketsi, Juan Carlos at the beach and Gabriela at check-in. -Our room was always so clean and little touches abounded (including a FS bookmark being placed in our daughter's book one evening to mark her place!) -We loved learning more about Mexican cuisine and were treated to special hand-made tamales in Ketsi when we asked about different preparations. Activities -SO MUCH TO DO HERE! Never a dull moment (unless you want one!). We loved the Lazy River, kayaking and the smash ball equipment. No charges for any of the equipment, including kayaks, boogie boards, fishing gear, etc. -The concierge made our trip a breeze. Dinner reservations, transportation and activity reservations were all taken care of. All we had to do was show up! Thanks especially to Katrina for her help! -Game room was so fun-retro arcade games, pool, air hockey and a full cinema. Great way to cool off during the day. Dining -If there was one downside, it would be that there are only two dinner-time options on-site. Several of the other restaurants and bars closed at 5 pm. -Breakfast buffet is exquisite. This isn't your standard eggs, waffles and pastries selection. Fresh juices, mimosas, fruit, omelets, Mexican specialties, tamales, handmade to order quesadillas, brie, charcuterie, the list goes on and on. Expensive? Yes. But a view of the gorgeous water, attentive service and amazing good made it worth every cent. Overall--best vacation we've had to date. Some are not happy with the restrictions on water equipment use or babysitting but those are all with safety in mind. I would not hesitate to recommend this resort and our family will be back! This is our second trip back and it did not disappoint! The resort, food, staff, amenities are positively worth every penny...they make you feel like royalty and take care of your every need and desire! We will be back again and again!
We went on a three night stay and it was wonderful. We all had a great time. Pros: - it is the high season and it did not feel crowded at all. By the time we checked out the hotel was at 95% booked and it was not a problem at all. There is enough space for everyone in the beach and the pools are big. -service is amazing and everyone is very attentive -children had special treats and welcome gifts in the room in the first day. - room is beautiful, we had ocean view but did not use it since we stayed out of the room until 9pm every day. I suggest not to pay that extra and enjoy other treats, unless of course it's whale sighting season. They said you can see them sometimes from the hotel (from Dec-Mar) - there is an amazing game room with lots of different gaming consoles, ping pong, pool table and a cinema. There is a staff member playing with the lonely kids. - breakfast buffet is very good - there are many activities included. We did snorkeling and beach volleyball. Rigo was awesome and gave a volleyball class to our daughter. He was also our snorkeling guide and showed us many different sea animals while on the tour, even our 5yr old joined us - there are many animals to see in the resort grounds, beautiful iguanas were our favorite. - we did hiking with Efrain he was so nice, there is a route to see real ruins of prehispanic cultures near the area. - try the icees in the lazy river. They are not ridiculously priced $45 pesos. There are free treats in the pool at 2 or 3 pm and also water bottles are on the house. - there is a clubhouse for the children and the activities offered are fun and creative, they made a piñata one day. They offer lessons for sports at an additional fee. Children under 5 are not accepted. Nanny service can be scheduled. - the lazy river is clean and I loved the shade and jungle around it. My kids had a blast. The not so cons: - Our maid removed items every day. The first day she took off a rug then the next would move furniture and left the coffee table off for the rest of the stay. Also she was not happy to be told to return a little later. - 150 dollars for breakfast buffet for 2 adults and two children. Every meal was about the same, lunch $180. No alcohol. Just be prepared. Our stay was short so it was not a big deal. -All services are included in every check. They charge about 15% extra every time. But there is always the extra line in every bill for an additional tip and it is uncomfortable not to leave some more. Every one deserved it anyway. - the beach had lots of algae and some rocks, i understand this is natural but still it's good to know. -there is an adult pool with a happy hour right after the clubhouse is closed. Happy hour is from 5-7 by the way. We will definitely return soon, we had such a great vacation.
Never experienced such efficient service, everyone was so very accommodating to our needs. Outstanding ...Betsy (front desk) went the extra mile to make sure our experience was memorable, we will always remember her kindness....The whole experience was excellent ...thank you...the hotel is unmatched in service.

If the only thing you want is a relaxing resort experience lazing by the pool with good location, food and service, than the Four Seasons should suffice. If you after after more "bells and whistles" for the price, than I would recommend elsewhere. Resort facilities are good, not excellent. Having stayed at numerous five star resorts around the world, the Four Seasons ranks average compared to others. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice resort, but not what I expected given the price and glowing reviews. If you have travelled extensively throughout Asia and Europe, this will be average for you. The positives Facilities are clean, staff are friendly. As I said above, if all you want to do is laze by the pool and eat hotel food, than the resort will be great for you. The negatives Unfortunately, the points of friction added up during our visit to make it an overall negative experience. I expected more from a five star resort in Mexico, similar to what we are used to in Asia and Europe. Water sports were very restrictive, similar to the US where we live. Lots of rules: kids under 16 cannot use a kayak unless on a double with an adult; you cannot use a mask and snorkel with a kayak to go snorkeling; only two people to a kayak (not 3 young kids); the kayak and SUP area is quite small, etc. If you are vaguely athletic and used this this equipment, you will get frustrated by all the rules designed for beginners / novices. Spa extremely expensive for Mexico. Most disappointing for us was the spa prices, as this is where we usually indulge on a holiday. Average prices are $US250-300 for 50 minutes. Pedicure $US200, Reflexology massage $210 50min, Thai massage $350 80min, Facial $280 50min. If this was NYC (where we live), I would expect the prices, not Mexico where staff are paid considerably lower wages. Baby sitting, again restrictive. This was the nail in the coffin for us. When we asked a sitter for 630-930pm for our three young children (4/7/10) we were told we would need 2 sitters as they have a maximum of 2 kids p/sitter. At this time our kids would be eating dinner in the room and watching TV, so no real hands on baby sitting. Again "hotel policy". Overall Expectations are usually the cause of poor reviews and unfortunately this is the case for the Four Seasons Punta Mita. With glowing reviews on Tripadviser I had high expectations. Equally, having stayed at Ritz, Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-La, St Regis, Rosewood etc properties around the world, I wanted to experience the Four Seasons. I guess I am spoilt. With the benefit of hindsight and status at other hotels, I will go back to my trusted brands, not the Four Seasons.
