We arrived after 7:30 pm and although dinner was supposedly served until 9pm, the waiters would not bring us any cutlery and virtually ignored our requests until we gave one a tip. The food was good, which was something. The lift was broken, whilst we were there, and as there was no porter, we had to carry our own suitcases up three flights of stairs. Not impressed. How the elderly or disabled would manage is beyond me. The room was clean and in a good position overlooking the back of the hotel. It was a little noisy during the evening due to the mini-disco but it was not too disturbing. We went all inclusive but were a little surprised that our request for a coffee, after dinner, by the bar incurred a cost of 3 tdn whereas the alcohol was free. Again, rather disappointing for an all inclusive hotel. Water was only served in plastic cups and it was not possible to get bottles of any size. We were informed that we would have to buy one outside of the hotel and then fill it up in the dining room. Again, not particularly impressed particularly as it was over 30 degrees whilst we were there. The one redeeming factor was the lady who cleaned the room. She was polite, friendly and helpful. Will we use the hotel again? No, sorry. Port el Kantaoui offers such a good range of good hotels that using this one again is definitely not an option.
My second visit there .its nice place except the restaurant isn't good we had to eat outside all the time ..the animation tram are doing the best especially SINO ..he is very good at mini disco , aqua gym in the beach and sometime in the pool , very helpful and very professional ..will visit it again if the same animation stay on and no much changes except the restaurants area ...and the elevators aren't working si if u have a wheel chair just forgot about it as no way to use the elevators
I been in houria place Hotel in kantaoui it's really good animation specially Doudou sport man and dancer and sino do for us gymnastique every morning. He's lovely gay. And saber the dj of animation he's have good music and all the rest bar really good. People and the cleaner so nice make rooms every day. I love this hotel thanks to all staff.
it was a good stay the bar and restaurant staff where very good especially KEMAL,FRAJ,SAHBI,MARWEN...the food was okay in need to be more selective rather then repetitive the only negative thing the head of chamber maid is not helpful ,rude and ignorant in more than one occasion ... the head of chamber maid should lead by example to her staff !!!!!!
I have been going to this Hotel for many years and will not go anywhere else . Everyone in this hotel make mr welcome every time I go back . I was there in May and when I went back in June I could not believe the changes food was better entertainment greatly improved do you furniture in reception area and rooms will be decorated . I'm back in September and I cannot wait to go home because that what the Houria Palace is to me
I have had the best time at houria palace the staff are great and the animation team go out of their way to make you happy and dodou will make you feel like family . We are a family of 4 and have been here 4 times but this time we was so looked after.
Before planning my holiday in this hotel I was frightened by previous reviews, but on the first minute at HALIAIA PALACE everything was changed, the front desk agent's warm welcome, spacious and comfortable room, acceptable food, Toboggan installed recently, remains to improve the animation either equipment or personal, I strongly advise for families
Very clean good value for money. Nice staff good breakfast great sleeps .was only breakfast which was nice. Hotel beach very nice 5 minute walk. Hotel is good for all types of travellers weather alone or with family. Security is excellent
Having visited Houria Palace on many occasions, it was great to return. The staff are great as always and it's nice to be welcomed back time and time again. Don't get me wrong the hotel still needs to make improvements in certain areas but it was great to see how the hotel is making progress in doing so. As a result it has been sad to see some negative reviews, as for what you pay for, you get an adequate standard. One major change that was witnessed was in the restaurant, the food had improved slightly and there were people walking around checking the temperatures of the foods at various points. The only bad points I found were that the food was still a little monotonous and lacked variety – which I know is difficult as they are having to cater for many nationalities – and the rudeness of some other guests just barging passed, thinking it was feeding time at the zoo! I know the latter remark would be difficult for the hotel to improve upon, however. The most obvious change being in the animation team! Since Cha has taken over as the animation leader, there has been a massive improvement. The hotel now has a team that does what an animation team should do. During the day they provide a range of activities which if you wanted to participate then you were welcomed and if you did not then that was no problem at all. As a result of the new and improved animation, there were also shows on an evening! I nearly keeled over at the fact to discover that evening entertainment shows – as with the previous animation chief these were just false promises, as he much preferred getting drunk and disappearing with different guests - were actually going to be performed! As some of the team is still new to animation a lot of the evening shows did fall on Cha to do, but he did so with the utmost enthusiasm and never once complained. It was honestly a breath of fresh air to be able to sit in the evening enjoying a drink and watching some entertainment. Well done Cha, Saber (DJ Shine), Willy, Ash, Sino, Mimo and Mya! It really is amazing what differences have been made in a matter of months and I feel that the recent derogatory remarks made by other guests were those who were either frustrated at the fact that these changes have been made or wanted to have a below par animation. As at the end of the day, if you have any problems, a mention to reception gets them fixed. I myself was offered an alternative room on the other side of the hotel when it was to become available but chose not to as I had already become settled. Lastly, I look forward to see what further improvement have been made when I return in November!
everything broken in room / water not stay in bath or sink and bath leaked water all over floor / filthy dirty bathrooms . afterrecently returning i think this experience has put me of going abroad for a while. and also guests please please please be aware do not buy any cd from animation. i spent my whole time being harrassed 24/7 by an animation boy cant remember his name has a rats pony tail - in the end it was easier to spend 30 dinar on this cd just to shut him up (very unprofessional way of selling) and then to top it all when i arrive home this dam cd does not even work. big scam - be careful there guys some very dodgy staff.......
