Located in the heart of Laurel Highlands about a mile from Kooser State Park nestled between Hidden Valley, Seven Springs and Laurel Mountain ski resorts, this family and pet friendly cabin in the woods has everything you need to enjoy an outdoor getaway. Travelers have enjoyed this cozy home in the mountains as a solo rejuvenating escape for 1, a romantic getaway for 2, a family vacation, or a get together with friends/extended family.

Nearby attractions include hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, golfing, star gazing, bird watching, restaurants, spas and more. Enjoy the many trails and ponds nearby at Kooser (2 minute drive), Laurel Hill (7 minute drive) or Forbes (12 minute drive) State Parks. Bike the GAP trail at Rockwood just 15 minutes away. Check out the local resorts for food, golf, spas, mountain biking, special events, skiing and more at Hidden Valley (5 minute drive), Seven Springs (17 minute drive), or Laurel Mountain (30 minute drive). Peruse the local towns of Somerset (15 minute drive), Ligonier (30 minute drive) or Ohiopyle (34 minute drive) for restaurants, shopping, white water rafting and trails. Even though you will feel like you are in the middle of the woods in a peaceful setting, if you forget anything a gas station/convenience store is only a 2 minute drive away and a grocery store is only a 20 minute drive away.

Once you settle in, you will enjoy a backyard with a picnic table, gas grill, bonfire pit, and hot tub or the spacious kitchen and spa soaker tub in the first floor bathroom. Excellent WiFi service will help you stay connected to friends, family, and work (Gasp! Only if necessary...you should be relaxing!) or allow you to finally binge watch that series you always wanted to see. A variety of games, foosball, and darts will help you stay entertained and unplug from screens too!

3 bedrooms and 2 baths accommodates a maximum of 8 people and 2 well behaved, house trained dogs. There is an additional $30 per night pet fee when fur family joins you at the cabin. Please be sure to check the pet box when booking to pay during booking your reservation, or pay it before your arrival.

If you have additional people or pets in your party, please message to inquire about also renting Mountain Grove (with indoor treehouse kid gaming room also accommodating up to 8 people. See VRBO.com/3615517 ) adjacent to Blue Mountain Retreat. Multiple families have enjoyed renting both cabins for relaxing family reunions or birthday celebrations.

The location off of 31 makes it easily accessible year round, but far enough off the road to be peacefully tucked in the woods. A limit of 3 cars per cabin has to be maintained because there is no overflow parking available nearby (AWD or 4WD vehicles during the winter months of snow are required for ease of access). Visitors should be accounted for in your reservation.

Was a great location for going to the parks during the day and then coming back in the evening for some fire therapy and soaking in the hot tub. Lisa was the best communicator and hostess! She addressed any questions and provided a plethora of local activities. The house was relaxing and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. This was a nice & relaxing stay in the Laurel Highlands, which is exactly what we were hoping for. The listing pictures were accurate and the place was very clean. The owner sent helpful information regarding restaurants, grocers and such that were close by. We don't ski, but I can see this place is perfect for skiers. It's set up to take the snow and gear and is super close to Hidden Valley, close to Seven Springs as well.The hot tub was great, if closer to the neighbor than preferred. Again, the picture was accurate. We enjoyed relaxing, some local dining and a wonderful visit to Polymath Park with a lovely lunch there. I would recommend this place to friends.

The description and location of the property was precisely as advertised. No surprises whatsoever and we enjoyed our stay in the home very much. What cannot be "seen" or "viewed" on the site is the degree to which Lisa, the host, communicated and assisted in every component our visit. When asked for recommendations for hikes, activities and restaurants in the area, she not only provide information, but also wise guidance based on her own experiences. She made the entire process from booking through check-out incredibly simple even helping change the reservation when VRBO systems weren't cooperating. Additionally, her response time to inquiries was nearly always immediate. If you are looking for a deciding factor in choosing one option over another in the Laurel Highlands, this property's host should make that decision easy!

We loved the Mountain house!

My family and I had a great time staying at the Blue Mountain house. It had everything we needed. We loved coming home from skiing and getting to use the hot tub. There was a closet with games, puzzles and toys which were fun for my 5 and 2 year old boys.
