Really nice looking from the outside and the lobby was beautiful too, that is where it ended. As many others stated, it is very dated in the conference areas as well as the rooms. Our room was on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator, so be prepared to lug anything you want to your room. The desk clerk said there is talk of installing 1 but no date yet. As far as our room there was a king bed with a nice firm mattress, refrig, microwave, and a good sized flat screen tv. The unit was not as clean as if could have been. When entering the faint smell of mildew was the first thing I noticed, it was coming from the shower curtain. In the bathroom, the area around the faucet was not clean, literally a ring of removable crud. The toilet bowl had not been cleaned either, growth was coming from the waterline on up. Breakfast was included, it was decent and plenty of room for a good number of people. It consisted of the usual carbs (including fresh waffles), eggs, sausage, juices, yogurts and plenty of 1/2 strength coffee. The area around this hotel is being developed, so presently landscaping is not at its peak. This hotel unfortunately allow pets. You enter the area to your room from outside which is key controlled access, this outside area is occupied by lots of smokers-the rooms are non-smoking. Easy on/off access to the PA Turnpike.
First room, 117, had a large roach crawling up the wall when I checked in. The second room, 121, had an un-flushed toilet. Staff at check in were VERY nice, but the hotel itself is NOT someplace I will ever choose to stay again. The property is run down, with a "smoke" smell when you come in the lobby. Rooms are dated and if you look closely after pulling the night stand or tv stand away from the wall, very dirty.
Easy check in. They honored my travel coupon. Room was clean and nice. Room had a fridge and microwave. WiFi worked well. Breakfast was above average. Check out was also easy. Hotel is right beside the PA turnpike but was not noisy.
The only two good things about this motel is pet friendly and price. Desk clerk very nice, had no other contact with staff. Our room was very, very outdated with a dead plant on the table. Because it was so old, it made it look very dirty. Would not stay here again, would definitely rather go a little further for a little bit cleaner and updated stay. There were no towels in the pool area except for maybe 3 in the dirty hamper. Pool was a nice size, as was the sitting area, but it needed painting very badly.
Great price. * The room doors are located inside! Felt safe Had a great experience here for a last minute stop. Friendly staff, clean room, decent breakfast. It was first hotel of exit. Pool and conference center looked nice but we didn't use it.
The only reason we chose this hotel was because the weather was going to be stormy off and in in the area while we were in the area and it had an indoor pool. Otherwise we would have went elsewhere. Although we stayed in a non-smoking room the hallways reeked of cigarettes. Most of the hotel needs updated. I would be very disappointed if my business had a conference at this hotel. The room and pool were just above poor but need some work. The breakfast was normal fare but the staff need to be a little more motivated especially when their is a crowd.
This property is somewhat dated. The room was not as clean as it could have been. The wi-fi was OK once we were able to get it started. The breakfast was minimally average. We'll stay somewhere else next time we're in the area.
This hotel is literally within spitting distance of the exit from the toll plaza of the Somerset interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, but it is not so close to the main turnpike travel lanes as to cause a noise problem. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. As this hotel is also a conference center, the lobby was exceptionally spacious. The breakfast buffet was much better than I expected as this price point, with hot sausage and other hot items. The WiFi worked with no problems.
Th elocation is very convenient, the staff was super friendly, the room was clean adn sapciaous, the breakfast was good, they allow dogs, and the price was right. What more are you looking for? Would gladly stay there again. In fact, this will be n\my new regualr stop on my trips between Maryland and Michigan. A much better value than any place at nearby Breezewood.
We stayed at this hotel for a business trip. After being in the car for 6 hours, I was extremely disappointed that the Indoor pool is only open in the summer. Don't get that one. The room had no fridge or microwave. The bathtub was black on the bottom. I didn't even use it. The hotel is stuck in the 60's. I was waiting for disco music. Breakfast was ok. Going through big brick doorways to get to the dining area made me think I was on a Space ship. The dining room and bar gave me a very eery feeling. Actually the hotel reminded me of the movie"The Shining"...
