The hotel is in an older building. Our room had a nice view. We knew we weren't getting luxury. It served it's purpose for the one night that we were there. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was not that clean and the sinks were slow to drain. The breakfast was decent. We heard that there were some newly renovated rooms on the second floor, but we didn't know it at the time or we would have requested to be put on that floor. We were only there for one night, so the hotel itself was fine. As I said, it was a bit aged, but it was close to everything that we needed. We went for a funeral and it was two minutes from the funeral home and Church. Highlight was definitely the staff. They were great.
Had a great stay was awsomesly received room was ok,and my stay extend tell 230 as my train was later in the afternoon on this cold day breakfast was great nice view from the balcony I could see the frozen fall
It took a couple of tries to find it on a cloudy day, but in the end it met our needs. Not a luxury hotel but a nice view from a big and older hotel building. Everything was clean, but the bedspread had one or two holes and you wouldn't want to spent too long looking for things under the bed. The WiFi worked very well, considering the thicker walls. Probably won't be around much longer, given that business appears to be less than booming.
You dont come to a place called Econo Lodge looking for luxury. What i do expect is clean and friendly. They pass. Is this place OLD YES.. Does it need new carpets and paint, YES... Is it clean and comfortable... YES
I was traveling to Ottawa and needed a some where to stay for the night and came across this place. Rooms were nice, clean, quiet and the staff was amazing. The rates were better than expected. I would definitely stay here again.
Booked a hotel away from Ottawa we wanted to try something different, a motel. I reserved a small room but, upon arrival they upgraded my room ( prices were extremely reasonable). The room was clean and very large. Beautiful outside view Enjoyed that the rooms were not directly by the road and that we had our privacy. What most caught my attention was the Manager Mr Khan. The were very nice and very helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay
I went Ottawa fro a day and had to stay overnight. I stopped at Ecno lodge for the night, The room was spacious with large windows .. facing the River Though I did not have prior reservation .. but the front desk was very helpful Had a very good night sleep, Rested .. had a hot breakfast the next morning ,, and headed for Toronto Thanks for everything
I remember “back in the day”, this was known as The Carousel Motor Inn. In the 70’s it was a real jewel, now it has been allowed to deteriorate to a point that no one in their right mind would stay here. Bed bugs, dirty sheets, a used condom next to the bed, the toilet still had urine and feces in it, the balcony was in dire need of at sweep. When I returned to the front desk to say I needed a clean room, I was told “that’s what we have keep it or leave”. I left, drove on to Ottawa and found a nice place for the night. How they are allowed to operate this cesspool is b3yond me. Strongest possible recommendation that you stay far far away from this dump.
We stayed as guests this past weekend as part of a scrapbook weekend right at the hotel. Every attempt was made to ensure we had a great visit. The beds are super comfortable, the room was clean, the lobby is attractive and staff went beyond the call of duty. For instance as I was leaving and packing our van with all my scrapbook supplies one of the cleaning staff came over and asked if she could help me. She was a great help and so friendly! Khan was also very friendly and helpful. The price is excellent for the added care. Also the restaurant connected to the hotel is good as well. My favourite part was my view from the balcony... so pretty. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the wifi connection wasn't great and we wished there was a little something more for the continental breakfast such as possibly yogurt or eggs . We will certainly be back!!
As it was the only hotel available in the area was the only reason I came. At best it's a Motel with a nice canal -lock view. It use to be a Comfort Inn now Econo Lodge. Friendly staff. 1 small elevator for guests meant long waits - get a lower room on the river side. Updated washroom & bed but still basic room. The rooms have a balcony but there are dirty and "buggy". Noisy A/C Very disappointed with the poor internet server - kept disconnecting. I do not plan to return and can not recommend this site.
