room was comfortable and relatively big though boiling hot. Bar food was good. Good gym, though pool area feels a little shabby. One seemingly senior staff member in particular was most unwelcoming on two occasions and that left a sour taste of the hotel generally. For the price charged, there should be a welcoming feeling, that's not the case here.
My husband took me here on a 2 day brake to cheer me up as I was very heavily pregnant and I was on crutches with a full leg splint. The staff were fantastic, so friendly, helpful and polite. The only negative feedback I have is that the price does not include breakfast and that everything there is rather expensive however I did have an amazing time there and after a bit of saving I will return 😊
Sligo park hotel if lovely nice area very near to all,, reception staff very helpful...we had lovely meal in the hotel...room was excellent. Very spacious. we had lovely time weather was good..lots of things to do, take the bus which is nearby in to town you could walk
Just wanted to write this review to say how easy the Sligo Park hotel made it to organise a surprise dinner for my mum's 70th. From the very moment I sent an email asking about organising it, Margaret was very quick to get back to me about it. It was so easy with her. The room on the day was absolutely fabulous, the food was amazing and the service was excellent. Everyone had a smile on their face on the day and couldn't have been more helpful. I would highly recommend having any party there. They can cater from small numbers to big numbers.
Family of 2 adults and 3 kids aged 12, 9, and 7! From beginning to end this was the perfect setting for a family visit. Check in and the room was perfect. And each of our kids was given a "family pack" which consists of a Sligo Park Hotel bag full of information for us and colouring etc for the kids. They have lined up activities for the children every day. Movie nights, fun in the pool, and a fairy trail treasure hunt on the hotel grounds outside. Name check to Roisin for looking after them so well on the fairy trail and movie night & to Shane in the pool. There were 4 lifeguards around or in the pool but Shane helped all the children onto the obstacle course so apologies he is the only name I remember! Myself and my wife were able to enjoy the jacuzzi and sauna while this was on in a very safe environment. And so CLEAN!!!! The only negative after 3 nights....I felt the resteraunt a bit overcrowded and not family friendly. Eating in the bar felt more appropriate. Will defiantly return though.
Myself and my wife stayed in this hotel once again for 4 nights. We have been visiting Sligo and the hotel for 5 years now but have stayed in the Sligo Park more than 5 times. When we went back last week we found big changes in it. We have never found fault with the hotel but renovations have been done over the past months to the Bar, Reception & seating area, the Restaurant, The bedrooms, new carpets in the corridors and to the menu. All the areas are looking more spacious and brighter. The food, as usual, was beautiful and plenty of. The staff as always most helpful and friendly. Some names we have to mention are, Geraldine, Helen, on reception and the other members of staff on the reception whose names I cant remember. Peter the supervisor in the Restaurant and Arthur the Manager also to all the lovely staff that attended to our table each night and morning. Anne, the manager of house keeping who really looked after very, very well and to her lovely staff especially Erin thank you all. Myself and my wife could not recommend this hotel any higher. We will be back again
On our tour with Gate 1 Travel, my wife and I stayed at Sligo Park Hotel. Nice hotel with a lot of nice amenities like a large pool and exercise room. It was on the outskirts of the town, thus needed a cab to get to the downtown area or walk about 20 - 30 minutes. Rooms were very nice.
Stayed here for three days and totally enjoyed my stay , rooms very spacious and spotlessy clean, all the staff so helpful and friendly, food was perfect, couldn't fault any bit of my stay. Breakfast to the room every morning arrived just as booked, wifi was pretty good, cleaning staff never bothered me as had a sign on the door , plenty of parking apart from the birds nesting in the trees leaving there mark on the car , although there is signs up telling you about this , Drinks and food in the bar every evening was perfect relaxed and tended to by friendly employee s , I couldn't ask for better Also a little outside the town so car or taxis needed if you wish to visit the town centre hopefully one of many visits for me
Even with the refurbishment the building and facilities still feel dated. There are many finer 4 star hotels in Ireland but none with better staff. From booking till check-out every interaction we had was an absolute pleasure. Of course, in the west of Ireland helpfulness is almost a given but these people go above and beyond, offering an informal but nonetheless 5 star level of service. The food, though always slightly over-seasoned and a little pricey, was also surprisingly good. The leisure facilities are fairly basic, but clean and safe. By no means the most beautiful surroundings but still a good place to stay
Roon was large and beds (twins) were very comfortable. There were adequate European outlets for our devices and in good locations. The bathroom was well setup and lots of towels and other amenities. Dinner in the restaurant was well done and the food was good. Breakfast was plentiful and it was a buffet style so lots of choices. The bar had all types of drinks from beers (Guinness of course and local brews as well) to any type of libation you could imagine. There MANY people in the bar and it was SRO at times. Our tour group was there on a Saturday Night so it is understandable that it was crowded. Yes, I understand it is NOT supposed to be HOT in Ireland any time of the year, but it was and the room was hot. Opening windows on a rainy night is not the best solution to cooling the place, but it helped a little. That being said this was still a very nice hotel and I would stay again, just not on a hot summer night. In case you do not understand - there is NO AC in the hotel - not just our room. Many places in Ireland seem to think it is optional and not needed at all! Shop for hotels carefully! Our second problem was CHILDREN! They were everywhere and running all over the place thru the halls and in and out of the bar and restaurant. I understand the kids had won some type of football (soccer) game, but parents still need to be responsible for their offspring.
