A friend and I went for coffee yesterday and I'm so happy that we tried Bulben. The location is beautiful, the coffees were fantastic and the service that we received was exceptional. A lovely red haired girl called Niamh looked after us and made us feel so welcomed. To top it all off, the weather was amazing! I would definitely recommend Bulben in the Clayton Hotel to everyone, will be back soon for some delicious coffee and exceptional service.
This was not my first time to stay at this hotel. Trip was for both business and pleasure. Email communications from Laurie prior to arrival were prompt and reassuring that everything would be in order, particularly in relation to the meeting room. As usual from the moment of arrival the staff could not have been more helpful. Reception was busy and yet staff were extremely pleasant, friendly and efficient. Meeting room was spacious, quiet, bright and perfectly laid out to suit our needs. The bedroom was spacious, spotless and had a very comfortable bed. An excellent choice was available and a request for a fresh pot of tea was greeted with a smile and promptly served, as we chatted over a leisurely breakfast. Lunch in the bar restaurant was extremely tasty and service was excellent despite it being peak time for lunch. We did not get time on this occasion to avail of the leisure facilities or swimming pool. We look forward to returning to the Clayton Hotel in Sligo to enjoy the ambience and the beautiful views from the front of the hotel but more than anything else to experience the friendliness and efficiency of the wonderful staff.
We will definitely be taking our 2 kids back here they absolutely loved it!Noel was fantastic with the kids and even had a little tent put up as a surprise on our 2nd night.Their reactions were priceless.Thank you so much Noel you treated us all so well and we had our first really enjoyable family holiday away with no stress!
I would highly recommend this hotel. We enjoyed a fab family night away in a family suite with our 3 kids. Every aspect of the stay was fab. All staff were so friendly and extremely helpful from reception, swimming pool, porters and bar staff. Couldn't have been nicer.
We had a one night stay in the Clayton and we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were huge, the food was very nice and the waitress from the bar, Jenny, made us feel like home. We will definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends and family.

We had a wonderful meal in the Clayton this evening, one of the nicest meals myself and my husband have ever eaten in Sligo. Will definitely return but will need to save more room for desserts, all of which looked fab. Our waiter Conor was extremely pleasant, can't praise him enough. Will be back!

Had a function in the Clayton Hotel and it was excellent, The staff were Excellent throughout the Hotel especially wojtek, Janar and laima they were so professional, The facilities in this hotel are at a heigh standard ,I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again 👍🏻
I did debate for a while whether to give the Clayton four, but in the end went with a three. There are many good points about this hotel, which I can point out, and with some little tweaks it could be excellent. First it is a very splendid historic building. Check in was smooth. I suspect the many corridors are a legacy from the lunatic asylum days, so ask for a room near the lifts if you have mobility problems. My room was quirky, with a huge pillar in it, and whilst only me, had a double and two singles with a nice view out the front. Would be ideal for a family room. The bathroom was spotless. No biscuits but plenty of tea and coffee. I ate in the bar and the service was great, a special shout out to the older, small gentlemen ( sorry didn't get name) who was v efficient. The pool should be avoided during children times if you want a quiet swim. Go before 4 or post 7. The pool staff were very helpful to me with the padlocks, and generally welcoming. Wifi was free and very good in my room. Breakfast was okay, but I waited a while to get my coffee which was very strong, and no tomatoes. There was a good selection of food. As I said before, my room was quirky and a bit mismatched with no comfy sofa- tv best from bed. I needed to get away early so ordered a taxi the night before and breakfast in my room. The latter came swiftly with good service, and was huge. My taxi did not come, and the receptionist called for me. The taxi driver said he had only just been called, and I made it to my connection with a few minutes to spare. It would have been excellent service to apologise. So to sum up- would I stay again? Yes, but would ask for a room with one bed, and hope service overall improves. Five stars to the cheery bar staff, though, even under pressure.
