Quality Inn & Suites-Mountain View2.5 out of 5.0

My room is facing 101, which is several steps away from the window. The window frames are not sound proof, so every car speeding at highway is clearly audible. Even rather loud in-unit AC is incapable of overriding the highway noise.
This is a standard Quality Inn that you will find across the US. The staff is very polite and friendly. The room is quite spacious and has all the amenities that you would require like a microwave, coffee maker, working table, iron board. They offer a continental breakfast but the breakfast area is quite cramped! From a price standpoint, this is quite expensive from Quality Inn standards. This is the main reason for the three stars as I didn't find the price point to be good value for money!
Came here for a 3-night business stay. First off, the entrance is up the stairs and parking out front on the road is not safe because it is right on a blind corner which is the frontrage road to the freeway. There is a bar right next to the hotel. My room was located on the second story with a view of bar roof. I had no vehicle and just wanted a quick bite. Only place was a little market that had a Mexican food "deli". No problem the burro was great. There was an Italian restaurant also very close but it was closed. Just keep in mind you will have to drive to eat. I thought hearing cars all night would be the worst of it but once the bar got cranked up, It sounded like the woofers from their music was under my bed. This went on until the wee hours of the morning. I complained the next morning at the front desk and asked if I could get my room moved. I was told no, they were sold out and any possible change happened to be on the same floor same side of the building--ya right as I walked back to my room with room cleaning working on rooms on the opposite side of the hall. I have never seen a hotel immediately deny a request without even trying to make an effort. Ironic, on the desk in the room is a card saying if your not saftisfied they our committed to satisfaction and making it right. It isn't true. The desk person did say they always get complaints on the weekend so maybe she was just tired of dealing with them. The room was okay other than the noises that went on all night. If you want a peaceful and restful night stay, this is not the place.
Location is everything. Not the fanciest, but its clean, and provides the basics. I normally stay in 4 star on business travel, but the Silicon Valley prices are so crazy, you really have to think about what you get for the money. I've found I can almost always book this place, prices are reasonable, and best part is it is close to Google, LinkedIn, Intuit, AMES, blah blah you name it. Sometimes I even stay in the suite jsut for the heck of it.
Positive: The rooms are really and bathroom is spacious. Comfortable bed and pillows. Dozens of clean towels provided. All amenities (soap, iron, kettle, toothpaste etc) present in the room. The hotel is really clean and hygienic. Negative: Although the hotel charges almost 200 USD per night, they are still trying to earn 1.5 USD from the laundry machine in the hotel. It is actually not the money but the hassle because the laundry machine only accepts 25 cent coins. Not all international travels have 25 cent coins with them and when the reception does not have exchange coins that makes the situation even worse. As a hotel who already charges almost 200 USD per room, should let their visitors use the machine for free. Yes the hotel quite old, the furnishing is pretty old fashioned. The breakfast is very poor, don't expect anything fancy. Conclusion: Although the room is nice and comfortable, considering the facilities, the condition of the building I think this hotel is not worth staying because it is overpriced.
The hotel has a convenient location near NASA Ames, the rooms are large, wifi works, and the beds comfortable enough. However, the hotel itself is run down overall, the staff are surly/unfriendly, the sole elevator is small and dirty, the carpets are embarrassingly worn out, the "fitness center" consists of nothing more than two cardio machines in a closet, and the breakfast area is cramped and utterly uninviting. Just a depressing place to check into, and to return to at night. The rooms cost $200 a night including tax, and clearly the hotel thinks that it can get away with charging that in the Mountain View area while providing just the most minimal of service. I would look hard elsewhere.
Started our vaca in LA and then drove the Pacific Coast Highway up to enjoy a few days in the San Francisco area. Knew we could save a little money staying outside of the city but this was a little too far out of my comfort zone. Granted, if you are in town for business or are more familiar with this area it might be just fine but this was myself, my daughter & my mom & I didn't feel very safe. Easy off the highway? yes. But, we came in late and it was dark. I missed the turn into the driveway and was concerned after we came across the (closed?) nightclub and liquor store directly behind the building. Did a U-turn and found the driveway this time but quickly realized you can't drive up to the front door to check-in. The parking lot automatically dumps you into a underground parking garage and from here you access the main (only?) elevator. Park then take elevator up to the lobby. No key required. Anyone can come down to the parking garage and take it up to the lobby or rooms. Desk personnel took awhile to greet us (again, we could have been anyone coming up from the parking garage) and the welcome was far from cheerful. Lobby was dated and I went up to check the room before deciding for sure we would stay. Room was fine. Big beds. Lots of pillows. It was late, we were there, I would lock the door. We stayed. Daytime desk clerk was more pleasant. Breakfast room was adequate. All I needed was cold water to make a protein shake but I did see the breakfast food and it was a little sketchy. Biscuits looked fine but the gravy looked like soup. Eggs did not resemble eggs, more like Styrofoam. I just had my shake but if I had to eat there I would go with the yogurt. A little over an hour to Mir Woods and about 30 minutes in morning traffic to San Fran airport the day after that. Did not see any gas stations or restaurants around. Would not choose to stay here again.
It was a nice clean establishment the beds are very comfortable and they are generous with the pillows the air in the rooms works very well breakfast in the morning was good nice variety of choices biscuits gravy sausage eggs cereals ect. Wasn't much seating but we didn't mind as it was a nice day so we opted for the seating outside only complaint I would have is of the 2 tvs in our room one of the remotes didn't work I notified the front desk but nothing was done about it ..
What a snap to get to Shoreline Amphitheater from this hotel. Real easy to get in & out. I recommend a room towards the back, away from the highway noise. Very clean and quiet in the back. Simple breakfast in the morning. The bed was very comfortable.
Very clean. Very friendly ... Very comfortable bed..really nice shower. ..nice location close to shoreline amphitheater and good restsurants..really enjoyed our stay..will definitely stay here again :)
