Enjoyed our stay at this historical hotel, located inside the walls of the old city. Very pleasant staff, professional and cheerfully meeting our every request with a smile. Being an old cloister makes this place special and noteworthy. Please remember to drive trough the San Marco gate closest to the hotel, as your GPS will guide you through the city(which is mostly closed or strictly controlled even for locals). The rooms were nice and clean as well. A perfect base if you plan to spend a few nights in Siena.
A worthy 4 star hotel situated within the walls of the old town. A very old but extremely well kept building that used to belong to a order of Monks in the distance past. The room was quite a bit larger than similar hotels that we stayed in during our walking holiday in Italy. There is tea /coffee making facilities in the room. WiFi is complementary, however our Apple iPad would not connect. (Android device was fine). There is no lift in the building but the always helpful staff will assist getting your luggage to from your room. A continental breakfast is available from 7.30am. The hotel is located just a bit to far to walk to the railway station with suit cases. Taxis are readily available (they have a special permit allowing them to drive within the city walls) and the 10 minutes drive to the station costs about 15 Euro. A easy walk to the town attractions. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
A monastery turned into hotel. We arrived by taxi from the train station. Easy to navigate the city from the hotel. Stayed in 1st floor and the room is spacious for 3 people with 3 bedroom. The other room for our grown sons was at the higher floor with a great view of the town. Both rooms are clean and tidy. Wifi is free but not good at all. Breakfast during summer time was outside on the patio and I fell involve with this setting. Cant say much for we only stay for 1 night but it met our needs. They have an elevator/lift and they can hold your luggages if you still want to explore the city after you checked out or if you arrive early. The ladies at the desks were very attentive to our needs. They can arrange for a taxi on our way back to the train station.
The hotel occupies a piece of a convent from the 14th century. The breakfast is excellent, but it has no eggs or bacon. It is not too far from the Piazza Del Campo. The view from room 18 is magnificant. I would stay there again.
This is a lovely place. Situated in a quiet part of town with amazing views over the countryside from some of the rooms. The building is that of a former medieval cloister. the architecture is charming. Service is excellent. They go out of their way to help you.
We were attracted to this hotel by its back story, and the hotel is indeed stately and beautiful, although somewhat fading. Our room was okay, but in need of better maintenance. (For example, a damaged door frame kept the bathroom door from closing.) Worst of all, however, was a poorly-performing air conditioner, keeping the internal temperature above 80 degrees Fahrenheit. When we noticed this, we closed the curtains, to shield out the sun, but the room was still too warm upon our return. When we reported this to the night room clerk, she came to our room, verified that the air conditioner controls were working properly, heard the sound of the air conditioner, and said that the system was performing and said that this was all she could do. As a result, we could not sleep, due to the heat and lack of assistance of the hotel. We opened the windows to cool off the room, and mosquitoes flew in. The staff at this hotel were generally very friendly and efficient, except for the night room clerk. Also, it is worth mentioning that their credit card machine was broken, so we had to pay in cash (which we had not expected). All in all, this was the worst night of our Italy trip, and we think that other travelers may do well to consider their competitors.
We were lucky enough to get tickets for the Palio and decided to stay here. A charming boutique hotel, tucked away in a quiet street yet still very central. Amazing views over the Tuscan countryside. A real sense of history, too.
Central hotel to the center of Siena. Unique location of a former monastery. Rooms were large and clean, but older. Mattresses were thick and very comfortable. Big steps to climb to room. No lift but hotel staff brought bags up a luggage lift that goes up the stairs. Internet good for e-mail and slow browsing, but did not for uploading pictures anywhere in the hotel. They should upgrade the internet bandwidth. They have AC in the rooms, but were fixing some issues when I was there. Beautiful dining room. It is more of a 3 star vice 4 star hotel. Recommended.
Very nice, smiling and helpful staff! Perfect place to stay in Siena - everything is within walking distance and it´s amacing to think that you´re staying in such an old building. Very good coffe for breakfast!
Hotel is centrally located. Staff were friendlier enough but generally we found Italian service go be poor.. Room was ok. Breakfast was average. Can't say that we were blown away after being there. It was an average stay. Hopefully, your card machine is working again.
