This hotel is excellent!!! It is very close to the train station as well as the old city of Siena! The room was excellent with very beautiful setup! All of the employees are extremely polite and professional and we are definitely going back there!!! We would like to thank Franceska at the reception as well as the rest of the people there for our beautiful stay!! Also, the breakfast is great and the kitchen staff very polite and accomodating!!! Our best regards Stelios & Inna!
This hotel is located very near the train station. It is about 15 minutes walk the Piazza del Campo and Duomo. You can reach the main drag--Via Camollia in a 5-minute walk. We stayed in a large room with two big windows on the 4th floor. The bathroom was quite adequate with a nice shower. The desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. The really know the city. The hotel serves a very nice breakfast in the morning. We would clearly stay here again.
We visited for 5 days in Siena and had the best service from the Hotel Italia staff! They made our trip even more special from booking to check out we felt like family here! Can't wait to visit again! Thank you Guilia, Francesca, Davide, and Yannica. We appreciate the service! - Ricardo and Diana Rodriguez
Situated at 10 to 15 minutes walk from Porta Camollia, the entrance to the famous old center of Siena, this hotel is modern, painted white and decorated with photographs of movie stars of the 50s and 60s. The room we had was nice and bright, opening on a large terrace (there is a daily fee for a room with balcony). Breakfast was a feast, an outlandish buffet including many vegan options. It also offers a full vegan breakfast on demand. (N.B. Most people won't care but I asked why was the radio on during breakfast as a low background noise. For ambiance, I was told embarrassingly. I suggested that silence was a nice and beautiful start of the day or maybe, if music was necessary for some, a selection of very subdued Italian classical music, for "cultura" especially in a hotel of "questa qualita". They thanked me very politely.) Service at the front desk and at breakfast (grazie mille, Daniela) was cheerful at all times and particularly courteous and helpful. They helped us warmly with any requests for vegan options and any information we needed about Siena and public transportation. Marvellous staff.
I booked this Hotel as it was rated well AND close to the train station. We were not disappointed. Once outside the train station you walk across the street and go inside a huge shopping mall (entrance door on the left side). There are approx 8 escalators that take you to the top of Siena, right outside the wall to the old town. Turn right and Hotel Italia is just down the road.... Great location. Our room was very clean. The check-in was quick and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. They gave us an excellent local restaurant recommendation which we liked so much and went back 3 nights in a row. The hotel is just outside the old wall/arch, about a 15 minute walk away from the town square. The breakfast was excellent and for those that have a sweet tooth, the desserts were all homemade. My only complaint is that the location of the coffee machine, plates, toaster, juice machine ,etc , need to be spread around differently. It was very congested all in one corner of the small room. This is my only criticism. Everything else was perfect.
This is yet our 3rd visit to Hotel Italia and we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Please do yourself a favor and don't hesitate to be a guest here. The SAME staff are there which tells you something about how happy they must be. The room was beautiful with a small terrace, a very comfortable bed (and pillows), a lovely modern bathroom and one of the best breakfasts you will ever have in Italy. We are so fond of the staff that we cried a little when we left. Giulia, Davide, Elaine...we are truly friends yet receive the same wonderful service we received on our very first visit. We have had a car twice now and there is parking but you need to tell them in advance so a spot is reserved for you. Hotel Italia is in a great location and an easy walk to the historic section of Siena.
Gorgeous hotel. Vintage decor celebrating Hollywood's best: Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth, Audrey Hepburn, etc. Comfortable and spacious rooms, also beautifully decorated and with great attention to details. Plentiful and delicious breakfast. Wonderful location: 50 meters from the old town and from the way leading to the shopping centre and station. The hotel staff deserve a special mention: friendly, happy, courteous and helpful. What a team! Special thanks to Davide: totally awesome. We will recommend and will stay at the hotel again when back to Siena. 10 out of 10!
After 6 days of traveling Italy we arrived at Hotel Italia in Siena. Upon walking into the lobby we were greeted by the staff. After check in they provided us a map and showed us points of interest without requesting. The lobby and rooms were very beautiful and my wife was very pleased. (Bonus) The room was just as nice and our view from the 4th floor was stunning. We kept the windows and shutters open while we were there. The walled in city was only a 5 minute walk to everything. The community was safe and easy to navigate. We had a rental car and found nearby street parking easily. The hotel parking lot with 10 spaces were already reserved. Breakfast I. The morning was very nice as well. The food was delicious and filled us up for our days adventures. I only wish I could get 12 ounces of espresso at once since it is so good and I’m a caffeine junky.... Our room only had one bath towel and one hand towel but we made due the first night. We left a note and small tip for our room keeper and had 2 of each the following night. There is a terrace sitting area that we haven’t sat in yet, but plan to tomorrow. Great experience. We would defiantly stay here again.
Hotel Italia is an excellent small hotel in Siena - close enough to walk anywhere in the city but removed from the most "touristy" locations. Staff were extremely helpful in suggesting restaurants for the two nights we were there. If you have a choice, ask for one of the two mansarda (attic) rooms located on the top floor. Our room had a great view of the Tuscan countryside.
Hotel staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean. Not entirely up to date, but that is not uncommon in Italy. 5 minute walk to downtown, which is perfect. The free breakfast is great as well. I would stay here again.
