We cant say enough good things about this hotel. All the staff, from the cleaning staff to the staff at the front desk were simply the BEST! The location was a quick walk from the train station and a short walk to the walled city of Siena. It deserves five stars!
For our first official stay in Italy we could not have picked a better hotel. Just take the eight flights of escalators up from the main railway station, hang a right, and 50 metres to the right you can see the Hotel sign. Was able to leave our luggage, not in a monitored area but still no problem. Reception staff could not have been more helpful. Lift to our room which was spotless and comfortable, serviced both days. Shower was over the bath with no curtain. TV had no English channels. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choices. Location is excellent as quite close to gates into old town. There is a bus outside the hotel into the main town. Bus home a bit hard to work out but we just got one back to the station and used the elevators. Restaurant recommended for dinner was Trattoria Fonte Giusta - so good we went there on both nights. Taxi into the Duomo for Mass on Sunday cost 12.40Euro, an experience in itself driving the narrow lanes. This was organised promptly by the hotel. On day of departure we were able to use the Hotel’s comfortable lounge area and avail ourselves of filtered coffee - no charge. There is also a small bar where reception staff will serve you. All in all a very memorable stay and Siena is a must see city.
Very convenient to the railway and to the city, but also lovely service, large room, great breakfast, helpful staff, several reasonable restaurants within a few minutes walk, if we needed to stop in Siena again, we'd pick this hotel. And our room had its own private terrace area, all for 80€
We’re just packing to leave the Hotel Italia after a five night stay. The hotel is a really good base to explore Siena, located very near the top of the escalators that bring you up to the town from the railway station. It is a good 20 minute walk from the hotel to the Campo so if mobility is an issue for you it might not be the best choice. But I loved walking back to the hotel each night down the beautiful narrow streets. The hotel is immaculately decorated, our room was lovely (I’m glad we had a room at the back because I think the traffic might have been noisy on the road side of the hotel) and the bathroom was great, serviced to a very high standard daily. The Wi-fi is excellent and there were plenty of electrical sockets. Breakfast is fabulous, a wide choice of high quality food all the way up to the 10am end of service. A special mention to the staff who were always friendly, courteous and helpful. Every member of staff was an excellent ambassador for the hotel - thank you. The only reason this is a four star not a five star review is that I think the walls between the rooms are quite thin. My sleep was disturbed on three of the nights by different neighbours including a baby, a family and someone who put the TV at 6.30 in the morning and then proceeded to have a loud phone conversation with someone until about 8.45. However this is a small grumble really and I would love to come here again.
I one hundred percent agree with the other reviews that say one day was not enough in this hotel or Siena - both were excellent. The hotel is close to the train station and it's fairly easy to walk to even if you're pulling a suitcase. On check in we were greeted by an extremely friend gentleman who provided us with great tips on where to eat and how to get to the city centre. The room was lovely and clean and the distance to the historic centre of Sienna is walk-able.
When we entered the hotel it was lovely, clean and modern. Our room decor was slightly dates compared to the rest of the hotel but it was comfortable and clean. We paid €10 for private parking but there is parking along the streets. The parking area is quite small and a bit of a squeeze but we managed. The breakfast was adequate not a massive selection but enough for us to get something to eat. The staff were lovely and really helpful. Siena city was 5minutes walk. I would recommend this hotel and stay again
The hotel is very nice and super clean. Everyone in the staff is kind, caring, smiling and with a positive attitude that makes you feel like home. This was my second time at this hotel and I’ll always come back at hotel Italia every time I stop in Siena. Just minutes walking to the city center, excellent breakfast. Whenever you need something, the staff is happy to help you and they always have a smile on their face. We had to change the reservation a couple of times by phone and everyone had been helpful! 5 stars and more
Easy to get to from the train station (just go up the escalators and you're almost there). The check in was fast and friendly. We booked two rooms (one for our 3 adult kids and ours). Our room was beautiful, the bathroom was very nice and our balcony incredible. We really didn't get to enjoy Siena that much as it was just a quick stop on our marathon trip in 2016 (note I say 2017 when visited but TA wont let me say 2016)... with that being said we sure got a good taste of what Siena is. The breakfast was more than enough to get us energized for our train ride to Livorno. A special thank you to the staff of this wonderful hotel and to the people of Siena for making our 24 hour stay so special.
Stayed here for 1 night in October. Rooms were spacious with fun amenities. Fabulous breakfast. Walking distance to the historic section of Sienna ( a few blocks). Staff was very helpful and always smiling ! There is parking if needed.
This was my 2nd time staying at this hotel. Although it was only for one evening as a stopover before going on for the olive harvest. I had to come back, what amazed me is the staff remembered me. The general manager friendly, helpful and down to earth, the ladies at reception also helped me greatly. The barman also great, with the happy hour bites and beautiful view on the terrace overlooking the city of Siena. The hotel gives you a feeling of a big family, my room was cute with everything I need, also the breakfast was good, with more then enough to choose from. I hope to come back again next year. Keep up the good work!
