The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our need for an extended checkout time. They were so gracious and kind to us. Our four days were made enjoyable by their friendly and professional service. Don't hesitate to stay there! Thank you Denison Holiday Inn Staff!! God bless each of you!
The staff at Best Western in Denison, Tx are extremely courteous and very helpful when any problems are to arise. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going through that part of Texas. The pool is refreshing and hot tub relaxing. The hot breakfast provided was scrumptious.
The room was ok for the price $54. There was mold on the air conditioning vents and in the coffee maker water reservoir. Dead bug underneath the air conditioning unit and has been there for a long while. I know because my son stepped on it and it crumbled. The pool was grimy and there was at least a half dozen people there that weren't staying at the hotel. A guy had his large dog in the pool room. So we decided we would hit the fitness center. It's a joke. The one treadmill was out of order. The one stationary bike was only worth sitting on it and pedaling, no features worked. Elliptical is the same way, no adjustments could be made for a workout. The wipe canister to clean the broken equipment was bone dry and empty. So with all that said if you just need a place to sleep go for it. I don't plan to stay again though because of the moldy a/c vents.
Where do I begin. Well first they put me in a room that either someone else was staying in or had not been cleaned. After bringing this to the attention of the manager, we were moved to another room. The biggest problem was how the management failed to let any of the guest know that the hot water was out in the entire building. We found out when I tried to take a shower. The next day after coming in off the lake, I found out that the water problem had not been fixed and moved hotels. I was not charged for the second day but was not offered anything for the first day. I can't in good faith recommend this hotel.
Clean, easy access from US 75, this place affords good comfortable accommodations at a very modest price. We were just there overnight, so the minor flaws in the room and elsewhere didn't really bother us enough to whine tho I did report all to the front desk who politely and professionally handled the advisory. The bathtub had a constant drip flow, the toilet wouldn't flush correctly, and the hair dryer wouldn't work...nothing that would keep me from staying here. It was a bit annoying that most of the hot breakfast items were consumed and not replaced still 30 minutes before shutdown. All in all, I would stay here again at the given price
It's generally what you would expect from the IHG brand. However, the property is beginning to show its age and could use a little TLC. Never could seem to get the room cool enough and unit had a rattle that wasn't conducive to a good nights sleep. Staff was friendly and welcoming even with the last minute reservation. Breakfast was as expected although a little more attention to getting tables cleaned between guest would have been appreciated.
The front desk staff consisted of 1 poor guy that had WAY TOO MUCH to handle alone. He was washing linens and stated that they had not been this busy in a long time. There was a bass tourney scheduled for Lake Texoma so it should have been known ahead of time and prepared for. The room and linens were dirty in several rooms as I was waiting at the front desk to exchange and request more linens as were several others. The hotel "ran out" of clean linens. Why would this ever happen??!!!!
We stayed one night and were pleased with the bed and room, however there were three problems. The sink drained slowly when the faucet was fully open, the refrigerator was in bad need of a complete defrosting, and the a/c fan made a quirky high pitched whine when shutting down. We solved the a/c issue by switching the fan to continuous run. Breakfast was fine and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location is easy to reach when arriving from southbound US75, and very difficult to navigate when arriving from northbound US75. We would highly recommend navigating the latter route during the day as nighttime is difficult even when familiar with the route. Check out the map on the hotel website for an overview. Highway 120 is also Morton Street.
Very nice clean hotel very friendly staff at check-in breakfast is awesome and very close to all the shopping and restaurant you could want this is a great property to visit For those who like to shop the malls are within 5 miles every restaurant you could think of and great scenery
GOOD POINTS What a great hotel, nice comfortable beds, great bathroom & shower, Kuerig coffee maker in the room, fridge, great TV. Nice exercise room, nice snack pantry, ice machines on all floors except 3rd, nice indoor swimming pool, good internet connection, fantastic free breakfast, lots of parking, very friendly & efficient front desk, lots of luggage carts. DETRIMENTS An absolutely lousy electrical set up. There was no available outlet between the beds, just a two-hole outlet that the lamp and clock radio was plugged into. Only one two-hole outlet next to the desk/computer table, and one of those already occupied by the lamp. There WAS NOT A SINGLE PLACE TO PLUG IN A USB CHARGER, A SMARTWATCH CHARGER, A C-PAP, or any other electrical devices you may travel with. We travel a lot, and have experience poor electrical planning in hotels before, so we had a few strip outlets with us, and managed to make do. But..it boggles my mind to run into a hotel these days that has such tech-deficient planning. At least they did have decent Wi-Fi. Would I stay her again...Absolutely, but definately not without bringing my own strip outlets. FISHERMEN One more thing.... This is a nice comfortable, classy place to stay and it is reasonably priced and within a 30 minute drive of several area marinas /guide services on Lake Texoma. I recommend this over the places at the lake, mainly because it is so comfortable and there are many, many great places to eat/drink close to here.
