It is a good hotel with high standard close to the Shekou area. It is typical Chinese design and big lounge areas. Close to shopping and metro. But if you want to relax at the pool, you should choose another hotel. The pool is inside and there are no sunbeds outside. A brooken tennis court and not so fresh is what you see beside the indoor pool.
I booked this hotel based on recommendations. I have to thank the person. I loved the location nearby a very popular mall and restaurants. The hotel has big impressive lobby. It was pretty empty when I arrived but later it was bus y busy. Staff were friendly.Room was big enough and had nice view due to high floor. I loved the comfortable bed. TV has limited English channels. Internet was included. Plenty of electrical for charging devices. Nearby construction was a bit annoying and I guess it was 24 hours? Bathroom was nicely decorated with separate shower and tub. My only complaint was the bath water never was hot enough (the shower was). Breakfast was not included and I felt too expensive for what was offered. Security at elevators was friendly but strict and I saw a few couples having awkward discussions with security even though the elevators had keycard necessary. Check out was so easy I wanted to mention it. My usual experience in Chinese hotel is not so smooth as this was! I would stay here again dependent on reasonable room rate.
I stayed at the Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen in May for just over a week. I received a warm welcome by the hotel manager and his staff. It included a handwritten note and a towel in the shape of an elephant. A nice touch! The hotel is close to the Shenzhen Bay / Hong Kong border crossing which makes a day trip to Hong Kong very convenient. I really enjoyed the Executive Floor Lounge. It's quiet and has a great view of Shenzhen.
Having been in business for a long time ( since 1897), this a hotel where everything runs like clockwork. This was my first time staying here, but won’t be the last. It is conveniently close to the train station for a fast trip to the airport. I ordered room service and the food arrived promptly and was of a high standard. The bed was comfortable and I had a good rest. Breakfast the next morning offered various choices and a great start to the day. Highly recommended.
My third stay here, location is near to my office which is quite convenient. Takes around 30 mins from airport, depending on traffic. 15-20 mins from Huang Gang border, which is pretty ok if you travel by land. Hotel is very grand, right next soor on the 2nd floor is a very good Chinese Restaurant which is good for lunch or dinner with clients/ colleagues. If you wish to try more local food, suggest you walk down 3 mins to the nearby mall. Plenty of F&B outlets to choose from, so explore and see which you prefer. Room is quiet big, more than enough space for 1-2 people. Very clean & doesn't smell bad, has a huge bed. All amenities are available, but the bottle water is not quite enough for me. Overall a good stay.
It is a typical 4 star Hotel. China standard. It could have been a Hilton, Shangri-la or Sheraton. Nothing differentiating it from these other hotels. All the usual toiletries. A bathtub plus a shower available. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. No lingering smell of cigararette so it was a true non-smoking room which is rare in China. My room was close to the elevator/lift but I didn't hear noises or footsteps in the hallway. I was usually out in the morning and back at night to a clean well made up room but on one of the days I stayed in( due to typhoon) The flower in my room was changed. Single flower. The shower doesn't get so hot in the mornings except at night. The complementary water is 2 X 330ml which isn't enough for me. There is a room safe. An umbrella and shoe shinning kit but no drawer space. Just hanging space. The hotel is marketed as a business hotel. Most likely didn't plan for a woman to be on a business trip. LOL. I couldn't unpack and lived out of my suitcase the whole week I was there. Also very little space by the sink for makeup and toiletries. Again goes back to the design being more suitable for a man. I can't complain about the Hotel but for the price and having stayed in other hotels of this nature. I will opt for another brand in future rather than a kempinski. The breakfast set up was okay. Mix of international and Chinese. Chef on site to make omelette and Chinese noodle soups which was the only part of being in this hotel that i enjoyed. Coffee was passable except you ask for an espresso. My colleague used the indoor pool but said it was too cold a s didn't enjoy his swim.
Very well located , close to subway station , next to the biggest mall , and an area full of nice restaurants Very good pool , great rooms Breakfast with a lot of choices , also for people not from Asia one of the best hotels i ever stayed very good price for this quality
I was before, this Kempinski continue as excelent hotel. The service very good, the security very good ( personal card at elevator ). Have good spa to relax. LOCATION? not really good. But for business meetings is good
I'm sure it was a great some years ago. Unfortunately the room I had was worn down. Wardrobe, shower door were abused. I'm sure these rooms used to be great some years ago but they could use an update now. Besides Service and breakfast buffet (european standard) were excellent. I might return just for the great breakfast buffets, but certainly not for the same room.
already been here for several time for business purpose. the service here is good and facility also break even. location for this hotel is excellent, and very convenience to have dining and shopping. staffs of here are friendly
