Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen China

Although I have though a brand name as KEMPINSKI will warrant a minimum of standards...., BIG FAIL. Apparently most rooms smelling for cigarettes and smoke, even the floors are smelly, the staff would not get a job in any European 2 Star Hotel due to a lack of education. Breakfast and Pool are OK, close by is a nice mall. Next time I choose another hotel.

Location is nice, near Metro Shenzhen Houhai Station (MRT/MTR), near shopping area & many restaurant (Coastal City, etc). Friendly reception staff but need to improve for english. Leave message to the hotel for honeymoon but it's useless. Thanks.

First time I visited, I just enjoyed the restaurant which was absolutely excellent. I then have stayed a couple of times and enjoyed immensely. Very good service and friendly staff. Large breakfast and good variety.

Wonderful experience and nice stay. Very good location near by shopping mall. It is located at happening place. For Indian visitor there is Indian restaurant just 500 meters away. Rooms are good, spacious and quiet. Hotel ambience is very good. I stayed here for 3 nights really enjoyed the stay.

Vast, old-fashioned lobby with plenty of dark woods, chandeliers and wasted space. Bedroom decor also traditional. It all seems out of sync with the contemporary, high tech style of Shenzhen. Breakfast buffet ok.

I had a great experience staying in this hotel for 2 weeks. Located near to Houhai subway station and Coastal City Mall. Hotel attendant that cleaned my room (Candie) was helpful too. I took a direct shuttle at RMB200 from the hotel to HKIA with no hassle.

Been here one night, so I’ll just report for what it was my time staying. Got a suite, which was gorgeous (if u like this style), and didn’t bother to take pics as basically what u see from the ones taken fron previous travelers, is what u’ll get. Cleanliness, tho, was ok but not superb. Hairs and dusty spots here and there. THE major problem here is the language, tho. Even the consierge can’t keep up. And I’m talkin about placin an order for room service. Had three ppl on the phone trying to understand what I was saying (basically: “A hamburger with no onions and a large bottle of sparkling water”. But it was mission impossible, sigh..) Frustrating. I think if I’ll be back in Shenzhen I’ll look for an alternative.

It is a good hotel with high standard close to the Shekou area. It is typical Chinese design and big lounge areas. Close to shopping and metro. But if you want to relax at the pool, you should choose another hotel. The pool is inside and there are no sunbeds outside. A brooken tennis court and not so fresh is what you see beside the indoor pool.

I booked this hotel based on recommendations. I have to thank the person. I loved the location nearby a very popular mall and restaurants. The hotel has big impressive lobby. It was pretty empty when I arrived but later it was bus y busy. Staff were friendly.Room was big enough and had nice view due to high floor. I loved the comfortable bed. TV has limited English channels. Internet was included. Plenty of electrical for charging devices. Nearby construction was a bit annoying and I guess it was 24 hours? Bathroom was nicely decorated with separate shower and tub. My only complaint was the bath water never was hot enough (the shower was). Breakfast was not included and I felt too expensive for what was offered. Security at elevators was friendly but strict and I saw a few couples having awkward discussions with security even though the elevators had keycard necessary. Check out was so easy I wanted to mention it. My usual experience in Chinese hotel is not so smooth as this was! I would stay here again dependent on reasonable room rate.

I stayed at the Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen in May for just over a week. I received a warm welcome by the hotel manager and his staff. It included a handwritten note and a towel in the shape of an elephant. A nice touch! The hotel is close to the Shenzhen Bay / Hong Kong border crossing which makes a day trip to Hong Kong very convenient. I really enjoyed the Executive Floor Lounge. It's quiet and has a great view of Shenzhen.
