The area seemed unsave to leave our things in our vehicle, staff barley spoke english didnt ask how our stay was, room very small, door didnt open well, lots of broken things in the room windows wouldnt open, stained matresses, pool had no heater was ice cold, no acess to workout room no working printer, someone came into our room mid stay while we out only our for a few minutes and weirdly made our bed part way and took dirty towel out without us asking. Felt unsafe. The stairwell was nice and the eating area was decent. Overpriced for what we got.

Check in was quick and easy, however, we were given a key to a room that was already occupied. Not a big deal but I’m sure the person sleeping was not happy when we knocked. Upgraded to a King corner suite but looked like the room hadn’t been used/cleaned in a long while.

Room clean, but overall felt like old painted over hotel. Selected pay at property when making reservation but they charged my card in advance anyway. TV did not work, staff at desk didn't understand English so gave up on getting it fixed. Room key did not work. Who ends comp breakfast at 9 am!!

Pros and Cons

It was okay in general. The rooms and lobby are nicely updated, but it is very clearly an old property as evidenced by the very old elevator. We were not asked to provide a photo ID or credit card at check in which seemed questionable. Breakfast was standard (waffle maker, bagels, pastries, eggs, sausage, yogurt, fruit), though the milk was very spoiled. Parking is free, located in downtown, and we could see Lake Michigan from our room on the fourth floor.

The rooms are very small, especially the bathroom area. It was hard to even use the room to get dressed in or to give my children quick showers. The room itself was clean, and the beds were comfortable. It worked for a 2-day trip, but if we were staying longer, we would go with something a tad bigger and more manageable. The breakfast was okay, not a big layout, but it worked, and it was well-stocked. The staff was kind and welcoming. Left you alone unless you needed something- that's the way I prefer it. Would stay again for a short trip.

Had to ask REPEATEDLY to get our room cleaned and get clean towels. 1 Week stay, sheets never changed, garbage only emptied once. Always had to ask to get towels for room and down at the pool (they never had towels out in the the pool area) Microwave was very noisy, sounded like it had a turn table from a different microwave. No coffee makers in the room. and not enough outlets to plug in all the room lights, let alone chargers or laptop.

There were homeless people wandering around outside and it didn’t feel safe. The elevators looked ancient and it seemed like it hadnt been serviced in a while. The rooms were ok- shower was kinda dirty.

Ragai was wonderful and very accommodating to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Hotel and pool were clean and our room was larger than usual which made it comfortable for our longer stay. The indoor pool and hot tub were clean and we enjoyed some quiet time relaxing in the pool area after walking around throughout the day. The hotel is very close to many sights and amazing restaurants! Thank you!
