A short helicopter transfer direct to the hotel grounds (surprise gift from OH) where we where met by the fantastic Mr Joerg and Ms Anna and quickly transferred to our amazing Ocean view villa with its own plunge pool. (cant load the video of the room) The main pool area was quiet, but well managed by one of the ever present Jason, Jose, Edmond and Roddy, whom took great care of all the guests at the pool and beach area. Fresh towels, cold water, parasols moved when necessary and an offer of fresh fruit skewers. The Pool restaurant was delightfully staffed by Brina and Sandy who where always smiling, the menu selection was varied and covers most tastes. Breakfast was served buffet style with the main hot breakfast served to order. The hotel cures its own pork products and smoked Salmon and are well worth trying. There is a range of breakfast offered Asian, continental, English and local flavours to try. Thanks to Ms Melia and Angelle . The bar and restaurants have an extensive wine and beverage list including a wonderful by the glass menu. In comparison to Qatar prices it is less expensive, if compared to Europe it can be more than expected. Lee and Shadan do a mean gin martini Evening food came in a range of buffet nights and a choice of 3 restaurants, our favourite by far was Curieuse an Asia based menu with Chef Ajeem and Manager Patrick. The paths to the Ocean villas are in places steep - but do not fear these as the drivers of the golf buggy's are always available. The views from the paths and villas are stunning with great views over to other islands.
The first impression was not a good one as the hotel had made a bit of a hash of our reservation and generally this side of the operation, including the concierge service, needs to be strengthened. However, the villa was very comfortable, the buggy service worked well and we discovered there is much to like at Raffles Praslin. The three main highlights were the wonderful flower garden and the adjoining glorious pool, the excellent choice of restaurants with a wide selection in all of them and excellent service with it, and the ability to visit adjoining islands and the Coco de Mer park. The main drawback we feel is that the hotel beach is ok but not great (but this was more than compensated by the pool area). Also, for keen snorkelers, la Digue might be a better solution than Praslin.
I am so in love with this hotel! We got married here and they could not not do enough for us! Our co-ordination, Shannon was a god send! Everything was taken care of and every detail managed and achieved! We were so happy! The hotel is beautiful! So so green and lush with amazing views, we stayed in one of the private pool villas and felt like we were in our own little world so so private! The fixtures and fittings were new and spotless! We were worried that perhaps it would be too busy with it being Eid holidays but because it's mostly private pool rooms the hotel did not seem full and the gorgeous public infinity pool was never full and was easy to get a space. Food was amazing, I'm vegetarian so sometimes food o-Fiona are lacking but not here, I was so happy with what they offered and especially in the Asian restaurant, sooo good, we were stuffed every night. TIP; go for the half board or full option as the food is a little pricey if not no there rent many local food joints close by and taxis aren't cheap. Overall really loved it and can't wait to go back!
Very nice hotel and very good service. Though it is expensive but you get worth of every dollar you pay. One of the best hotels you will stay ever in your life. Location and view from the hotel is just amazing. Staff and the management does everything to make you comfortable.
Location: in praslin island. Facility: nice villas in a forest like gated area right on a beautiful beach. A nice infinity pool although service pool side is horrible, and there should be better music. A nice spa, and a 24/7 gym. The hotel has a few restaurants with different cuisines and mediocre food. Breakfast buffet is good. Check in: very smooth. Room: nice spacious stand alone villa. With its own small private pool and a lay out deck. Very nice room but I expected a more high tech room. Concierge service: Go to Alla she gets things done. Internet: good internet specially in the room but not everywhere in the hotel. Housekeeping: very good Check out process: Very slow. Over all: I would come back for the beautiful scenery. The restaurants need improvement they are so average and over priced.
We enjoyed a lovely week's stay at this beautiful hotel and location in February 2017 as part of our honeymoon. To be honest, our initial welcome and room allocation was extremely disappointing but after some discussion (strong words) with the hotel management we were relocated to a great sea view room and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our stay. The hotel beach is a little small and poor but Anse Lazio which is close by is beautiful and well worth a visit. We also enjoyed day trips to La Dique (Hotel private boat used which was great) and Curieuse. We also enjoyed a walking excursion at Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve. Despite a hiccup at the start of a great holiday, we enjoyable our stay and we are likely to return to the hotel and Praslin. We recommend this hotel but make sure you get a decent sea view room even if you have to pay extra.
This was amazingly relaxing 2-nights stay, part of island hopping week :) We booked one of the standard villas. All are set in lush garden and have terrific terraces with large daybeds and private pools. Thanks to exotic garden in front of your villa terrace, you do not miss ocean view and you have sense of privacy, like being far away from it all. The hotel has superb public grounds (pool surrounded by greenery, beach area with many little hidden corners). Thanks to thoughtful setting of the area, you really do not feel presence of other guests. The staff is very helpful (special thanks to Lindy Camille who went out of her way to help). Great breakfast and food in restaurants. There were some little things though we did not like. The hotel is a bit long way to get outside anywhere apart from anse Lazio - but I guess this is the price of such wonderful setting. Prices in restaurants and spa are very high, I get the idea of 5-star prices, but this was a bit over the top. The service is a bit too "servile", I personally prefer if they are more natural. And beware they charge a big deposit at check-in, we were not told about that upfront, so if somebody has only one card, be prepared that your money will be blocked for suration of your stay. Outside bathroom is only average (small, no charm and only with rain shower - I love outdoor bathrooms at tropical locations, so for me it was a pity. Overall this is heaven!
Great experience...well worth the stay! From the front office to the restaurants the lovely staff makes everything even better...especially Walter Andre😊 Would definitely recommend a visit! Very worth it and memorable!
If you are looking for a holiday that combines luxury, privacy and excellent food, Raffles on Praslin Island is a good choice. Others have talked about the lovely and spacious villa, gorgeous views, splash pool which are all outstanding but what impressed me most aside from the hotel is the island's untouched natural beauty. Drive anywhere on the island to see the pristine clear water, beautiful beaches, flowers, lizards and huge palms. Last year we went to the Maldives and thought that was magnificent but Seychelles is equally lovely. A few people made out stay even better and they are: Juliette at the breakfast buffet who went above and beyond; Arnold our buggy driver who was always so helpful and friendly and the head chef for the hotel whose name I've forgotten. I want to commend him again for his team of culinary experts who put together mouth watering meals every day. Thank you to all the staff! A tip: we found a driver who took us around the island- beach, shopping and finally the airport for 1/3 the cost of a regular taxi. He had a brand new car, was prompt and offered advice when asked. We ate mostly at the hotel. We enjoyed all the restaurants but particularly liked the sushi and pool restaurant. Suggestions for Raffles - organize group trips to Curieuse island, shopping, Anse Lazio beach, etc. several times a week. A van to take small groups would have been helpful. We saw other Raffles guests at the beach but everyone had to organize their own transportation. A van going and coming 2-3 times a day would have been nice. Same with airport transportation.
I stayed with you during the month of may for six nights. From my transfer at the airport until my departure everything was more than great... was excellent... the hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful and are always there to receive you and give some word... From reception, breakfast, restaurants... everything was AMAZING... I have also to tell a really THANKS to the Housekeepings guys because they really know how to impress people at the room with their amenities and the welcome amenities... I can't finish without say a real thanks for me for the two best employees of the hotel that made my holiday much more special, always with a friendly talk that made me felt at home... DARIO at the lobby/reception ( just give him the employee of the month) and Mohammed from the swimming pool bar... they were always there... just still like that with a smile.... hope to see u soon :) Joel Dias
