Frequently Asked Questions:
1. How is the drive to the cabin? The roads and private driveway to the cabin are paved and well maintained. As with most mountain areas there are curves, climbs and few guard rails so we highly suggest arriving before dark. Just pay close attention and drive slowly. City dwellers may need to channel their adventurous spirit. :)
2. Do I need 4-wheel drive to access the cabin? Only if the weather would require a 4-wheel drive to go anywhere such as heavy snow and icy conditions which is thankfully rare at our elevation of 1600 ft. Please check the weather before you leave.
3. What toiletries are provided? We provide shampoo, conditioner and body gel dispensers in each bathroom.
4. What household supplies are provided? Tissues in each bathroom, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom and dishwasher tablets. If you run out or need additional supplies, there's a Dollar General 10 minutes from the cabin.
5. Do you have a crib? Yes, we provide a Dream On Me mini crib outfitted with a mattress and sheets.
6. Do you provide a grill? Yes, we have a park style charcoal grill near the parking area for your use, please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid.
7. Is the hot tub cleaned after every stay? Yes, it’s drained, cleaned, and refilled for every stay.
8. When will I get the address and cabin access info? This will be provided via message the day before your stay. A few days before your stay we’ll provide you with local info that will help you pack.
9. Do you offer discounts? We offer a weekly discount and a monthly discount. From time to time, we may reduce the price to fill any remaining dates and that reduction will be reflected in the price you see when you’re reserving the cabin.
10. What if it snows while we're traveling to the cabin? Although it rarely gets severely cold or snowy in the Smokes during the winter months, it does happen occasionally. Snowfall typically occurs December through March, and sometimes as early as November.
Please check the weather forecast before traveling. If the weather calls for snow, bring some extra groceries and wood for the fireplace just in case you get snowed in for a couple days (which is a rare occurrence but good to be prepared if the weather is calling for snow).
Also, if you plan to take Route 441 (Newfound Gap Pass) through Smoky Mountains National park check current road conditions at GSMNP as it's frequently closed during inclement weather.
The cabin is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and a balcony, and there's space to spread out with 3 bedrooms. Guests can expect to find free WiFi and a Smart TV with a DVD player. The bathroom offers a jetted tub and hair dryers. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a sofa bed.

As a 25 year visitor to Wears Valley during the holidays, I have stayed in many lovely cabins, but this is by far at the top of my list. My first stay here, but not my last. Absolutely breathtaking views, super comfortable bedding, tasteful rustic decor, and just little extra touches throughout made our stay perfect. This was also an exceptionally clean cabin, inside and out. My two teen sons loved the layout that allowed them each their own space, and hubby enjoyed the hot tub the most, while I loved the wood burning fireplace. I intend to return for my annual holiday stay from this point forward. I’m so grateful to have found this beautiful place. This truly as just what you’d hope for in a cabin in the mountains. The hosts were in constant communication and provided thorough and concise directions. Much appreciated!Truly, It was a pleasure from start to finish. I can’t wait to return!

The cabin is advertised as a luxury property, but our experience did not align with that description. We stayed over Christmas and were met with a very pungent, sewage-like odor in the first-floor bedroom that persisted throughout the entire stay and spread to the upper levels, making it almost impossible to sleep in that room. The cabin was also not clean: there was a large dark stain in the first-floor bedroom carpet, the carpeting overall was very dirty, the pillows were stained, the bedding had holes, and some plates were not clean. The outdoor fire pit is simply a pile of rocks with exposed plastic tubing, not what we expected based on the listing. The Wi-Fi, advertised as reliable high-speed, was unusable for work or basic browsing. While detailed instructions were provided about bear safety, the exterior lighting was minimal, leaving the staircase and surrounding areas very dark at night. The location itself is great, very secluded with a beautiful mountain view, but unfortunately we were not able to enjoy it due to the issues above. The owner issued a 10% refund for the inconvenience without agreement, which did not reflect the impact these problems had on our holiday stay.

The cabin is secluded yet you can see for miles. If you value peace and quiet this is the place for you. We of course went into town and did some tourist things but between the hot tub, fireplace, and the views from all three floors there is no reason to ever leave.

Secret Ridge is now our family secret
Just wanted to rave about our amazing cabin stay! Seriously, it was a dream. The price was perfect, and everything was exactly as described – a total lifesaver for a family vacation! There was tons of space for all of us to spread out, and the views were simply breathtaking. It felt like we had our own private little slice of paradise, far away from all the tourist crowds. We had such an incredible time, I personally loved the hot tub! We're already planning our next trip back. Highly recommend!

Perfect stay
Thank you for the great memories! We kept the cabin a surprise for our kids, and they were so excited once they saw it. We did see a cute bear once on the property at around 8pm one evening. The cabin had everything we needed, and the location was private, away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The quickest entrance to the park was near Metcalf Bottoms picnic area (we grilled here twice and loved it), which was only about an 8 minute drive. There were a few restaurants, general stores, a coffee shop, and a Dollar General within 5-10 minutes. The kitchen had all the cooking supplies I needed. The views were so pretty, especially early in the morning when it was at its smokiest. I recommend this cabin to anyone who values nature over tourist attractions.

The view from this mountain top home is what we enjoyed the most during our 3 night stay. A very close second was the hot tub! Our main interest was to enjoy nature and to be away from the crowds. This house was well equipped so we could prepare our meals, relax on the deck, play cornhole and access the park directly from the property. I will say, the initial part of the trail from the property is pretty steep and the trail itself is fairly primitive. The fact that we saw a bear around the house each day kept us from feeling secure enough to hike it too far. We did, however, make a quick drive to a more populated(not too crowded) area and enjoyed several hikes in the GSMNP.Overall, we had a great time and would stay here again.
