Very Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend
This was our first time visiting Korea, and unfortunately, our experience at The Line Hotel Myeongdong was extremely disappointing. From the moment we checked in, the condition of our room did not meet basic cleanliness or maintenance standards.
The walls were visibly dirty, with noticeable marks and grime. The bathroom was even worse, with black mold growing around the sink and along the floor edges, indicating that it had not been properly cleaned in a long time. The shower head and floor had red water stains, which further showed poor cleaning and maintenance.
We also found stains on the original bed sheets, which made us uncomfortable using them. The lighting in the room was terrible; only one of the two sensor lights worked, and the other was burnt out.
We requested a room change, but the front desk denied our request. My husband asked if someone could at least clean the mold and walls due to health concerns, but housekeeping never came despite our repeated requests.
We tried to find other hotels nearby, but everything was fully booked, so we had no choice but to stay for the full week, which felt far too long given the poor conditions.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service made what should have been a memorable first trip to Korea a very unpleasant experience.
