The location of this hotel is great, right downtown in the old center, with lots of shops and restaurants around. However, the lobby of the hotel is dark, and after a - friendly and efficient - check-in you find yourself in a really cheap-looking (too much old plastic...) room. There is a place to work but no real table, a (hard) bed, a cupboard, that is it. The sink is located in the bedroom, not separated by any wall or door. The shower and closet are next to it, but behind doors. Internet is reasonably fast but you instantly loose access once you checked out so better check your itinerary before. Breakfast is a buffet, the quality is acceptable but not great, as is the selection.
Been there for four nights and really enjoyed it. Well located, near malls, restaurants and metro station. Staff is super friendly and the breakfast was good. Room are small but well accommodated with an office space and mini-fridge behind the bed.
The reception mananger was a very pleasent and serviceminded person.Who speak perfect english. The room was very nice and a good breakfast.Take a Uber from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel and the airport the trip cost about 64 Reals a common taxi more than 100.. They have a huge supermarket called extra where you can find everything is only 10 minutes walk from the hotel..You can find 3 Malls within walking distance..On sunday the paulista street is closed for traffic and you will find they have markets all over..
My plane landed at 9 am I arrived to the hotel at 10:30 they had a room available and had no problem checking me in early, breakfast was awesome as well. Room kinda small but it works. Quiet area at night.
The hotel was easy to find, despite the entrance not being on Paulista avenue. Just less than a 5 minute walk around will bring you to the main avenue (with a mall and Mcdonalds so no problem with food). There is also a Chinese restaurant across the street, and a taxi stand in front. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, WiFi worked well during the entire stay. Staff was also helpful and spoke English as best they can. Breakfast was composed of mainly sweet breads (which I observed was the norm in Brazil), fruits and a few hot dishes. Would definitely recommend to stay here for the location and price.
Mercure HotelPaulista is just around the corner of Avenue Oaulista. An excellent location to visit MASP and walking down the avenue. A number of rooms have partial view towards Paulista. The rooms we had, 1205 and 1206, boasted such a view. Well seized and well appointed with a good working AC. A separate desk/table to work on. A nice shower room with great water pressure. Good sound insulation. A good duoble bed. And a TV with also a lot of English channels (when and if not exploring Sao Paulo). Breakfast buffet is good with a decent choice of food. And a very attentive and chearfull staff attends to your questions. Not everyone speaks English, but they manage well. Check inn was swift and came with a free drink. Part of the service?. I liked it a lot. Good job Mercure.
Having stayed almost exclusively in Mercure hotels throughout Brazil over the past few years, this was yet another very satisfying experience. Again, using your points helps tremendously. As always the staff were very kind and helpful and checking in and out was a breeze. Although the rooms were a bit smaller, it was to be expected considering space is at a premium in the 3rd largest city in the world. Everything was very clean, everything worked fine. Another huge bonus to this stay was the location. You are literally one block from Avenida Paulista and every possible type of restaurant you could want. There are 2 large malls nearby as well. It's important to note that as of 6-28-17 there is a massive construction project going on right next to the hotel and there's no way around the noise. We were fortunate enough to have stayed over the weekend but by Monday afternoon the construction was in full swing and very loud. If you are planning on staying at this hotel Mon-Fri, get ready for some morning and afternoon noise. I will continue to stay at Mercure because the price is right and the hotel is excellent.
The hotel is right next to Paulista Avenue, which is the financial centre of Sao Paulo. If you are a runner, the Ibirapuera Park is great alternative, 2 km away. The hotel and room are average for a Mercure, equipped with safe and mini bar. I have one complaint: I was told that I would receive my invoice via email, but what came was a link to the fiscal document issued by the State of Sao Paulo, rather than a typical hotel invoice. I have asked the hotel for an actual invoice but no response so far.
Perfect to stay during weekdays or weekend. Easy access to airport and public transportation. Very nice crew, Very good breakfast. Restaurants and stores around. Close to Sao Paulo state Industries Federation building.
The hotel is a Mercure standard basically. It was ok, clean, the rooms were not small. The beds were very comfortable. You can have a good breakfast there ( around 35 reais). The staff was great and accommodating. We couldn't do a late check out, because it was very crowded. The rate was reasonable. The location is great, the highlight really ( 2 minutes to Paulista Avenue).
