Tasty dishes, big portions, nice staff! I reccomend especially Santorini and greek plate! My mother liked a lot greek salad. Lots of guests and lack of free tables all the time is the best reccomendation for this restaurant:)
Love this friendly place so much. It suits us just fine. It's clean and homely, the food is good, it's convenient for the beach, the shops, bars, restaurants, the local bus to Fira and beyond. It has a variety of rooms on different floors, some with a kitchenette. Dino and Sandy and their staff are lovely and Dino speaks several languages. The building itself is a bit quirky which I like. Wi fi is free, there is tv in the rooms, sheets and towels changed every few days. Breakfast is a help yourself affair, shared with guests from The Dilino hotel across the road as Dino manages that one too.
I have been to Greece many times and stayed in rooms varying between average and the absolute pits. This is pretty low down on my list. The room was small and very basic with hardly any draw or shelf space for clothes. Only a small shelf for bits and pieces (hair straighteners, make up etc) As for the bathroom, it was awful. Tiny shower tray with a curtain that stuck to you, when you turned the water on it smelt of drains. No hook for the shower so you had to hold it which makes it really awkward. You couldn't help but get the whole bathroom flooded. In general it was pretty grubby. Yes, the people who run it are absolutely lovely but its the room that I am reviewing not them so I have to give it only 2 stars. As for Kamari, its quite commercialised and the restaurants along the front are all pretty similar. Captains Corner was very good and Kiwi was also good. Liver bird was a good bar with good music. Santorini doesn't seem to have many pretty coves and beaches but it does have stunning views. Fira was really nice as was Oia but I would think you need to get there really early to get the best of it. We got there around lunchtime and it was extremely busy. We found Santorini to be quite expensive, we were room only so had to get breakfast, lunch and dinner and were spending 160 Euros a day for the 2 of us. Weather in October wasn't too bad but was quite cool and windy for the 1st 5 days, not beach weather, and cold at night. Wouldn't go to Greece again at that time of year.
The location is wonderful, shopping and restaurants all within walking distance, beautiful beach less than one block away. The staff was all very friendly and room was very clean. I bought a dress while I was there and forgot it in lobby, did not realize I left it until I was already at airport. I called them and they mailed it to my friend in Chania in less than one week. Now that's service. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kamari looking for no frills comfort. They don't have a pool, but you can go next door, buy a drink (and food if you desire) and they will let you use their beach and pool.
The small taverna is part of the hotel. We ate at around 2pm and were amazed how nice the menu for two was.18 Euro's for the two of us and it was a delight.Breads, moussaka, cheese eggy bread, sausage , pakora and salad plus a small lamb mince burger.Wow! Try this place out!
The hotel has friendly family atmosphere and absolutely perfect location. It is situated in the middle of Kamari, so it´s close to everything - to dozens of restaurants, supermarkets, bus stop, car park... We had an apartment with a balcony. It included small bedroom with wardrobe, living area with kitchenette and the balcony with table and chairs. The rooms were all right although pretty basic. However the bathroom looked like from the 70s, quite rusty, with (the bath, bin, water tap), horrible shower curtain and it didn´t look clean even after having been cleaned. The other issue we encountered was the magnetic device which is used to switch on the electricity in the whole apartment. You get it with your room key on the same keyring. As we had only breakfast included we bought our own food and needed to store it in the fridge. Unfortunately, if you disconnect the magnetic device, it switches off the electricity in the whole apartment INCLUDING THE FRIDGE! So, all our food got spoiled. One day we left the device connected as we left the room, because there was food in the fridge, but the cleaning lady disconnected it so again everything got spoiled. The fridge is then really useless!!! The breakfast is basic, but we loved the Greek yogurt! Overall I recommend the place, even though it´s quite expensive for what you get, but I guess Santorini is an expensive and luxurious place so, this hotel is a good way how to experience it for a moderate price.
Everything was really great. We travelled as a couple. The hostess was nice and helpful. The room was all we needed and everything was clean. Pleasant view from the terrace as well. Highly recommended.
One of the best places we had food in, so much choice we had the Greek platter which was amazing for value and was so delicious compared to other restaurants we tried, I want anyone who visits kamari to go to this restaurant the staff where great as well service at its best.
We stayed here for a week, and we have absolutely no complaints about this hotel. It's great value for money, the location is perfect with restaurants and the beach just a minute away. The thing we enjoyed the most was the friendly couple that owns the hotel. They went above and beyond for us throughout our stay, and are truly lovely and genuine people. We would love to visit again!
It's a very nice hotel, nice rooms for family even for couples. To the beach it's like 50 metres. Very friendly people. The food is good there, try a Traditional Santorini mix. Bus stop is right around the corner. Markets too.
