Customer service was exceptional - very helpful and accommodating. Room was very nice and the views awesome. Since it was October - late afternoons on the balcony were warm and comfortable - great place to watch the sunset.
This is one of our many trips to Santorini, it holds a special place in our hearts as we were married here many years ago. We have been able to stay in nice accomodations on our previous visits but I have to say we have finally found our "forever' accomodation for our future visits to the beautiful Çalderra of Santorini. The Calderra views are amazing wherever you stay but the view from the Petite Palace is uninterrupted, the sunset till the end. We stayed in the Grand Suite for 17 days and wished we could of stayed longer. Experiencing the true cave room with beautiful styling, king size bed, lounge room and the large bathroom with a jacuzzi and a 24/7 view to die for, is something that we look forward to on our return. Our dining experiences were wonderful, the food is so fresh and the menu has something for everyone and we believe it to be 5 star, breakfast can be served in the privacy of your room or take in the view from the dining room, the menu offers so many different choices and the food is prepared when you request it so it is always fresh. We spent many days lazing by the pool, being treated at the pool bar and the complimentary massages while you relax, thankyou Sophia. Other afternoons spent having massages on the edge of the Calderra in peace and quiet, so tranquil, thankyou Pamela. We enjoyed our afternoon cocktails at the outdoor lounge room watching the sunset, discussing our plans for the next day. So what makes this place different to the rest that we have stayed at on our trips...... The staff..... From the moment we walked through the entrance we were greeted by Nefeli and a sangria welcome drink. We sat down in the upstairs lounge and although we know alot about Santorini her explanation of the island was informative and well explained. We then were introduced to Joyce who took us to our room and made us feel so special. If you want to organise any day trips, taxis, recommendations for restaurants etc Nefeli, Joyce and Fani will look after you and nothing is a problem for them. The Al aCarte dining is professional thanks to Nikos, Kris, Costa and Demi who respond to your every request. We chose to have the private dining experience for our anniversary which was amazing, 5 courses with explanation of each course of ingrediants and how it is cooked, thankyou Chef and kitchen staff. All the staff are professional and very polite and interested in ensuring your stay with them is memorable. We are already saving for our next trip and would highly recommend the Petite Palace for your stay in Santorini.
My now wife and I and a couple of friends of ours spent a week here and everything was absolutely amazing!! I started conversing with Nefeli, guest relations mgr, about doing a surprise proposal and wedding and she helped me with getting a photographer and also someone to do the ceremony. Our flight was 4hrs late and lost our luggage so we were very stressed out about that and Nefeli, Minas, and everybody that worked in the lobby called at least once to try to help us locate our luggage. They were so helpful in planning our day trips and just helping with all the details of this huge surprise! The breakfast food was absolutely unbelievable for coming with the price of our room. Let me tell you about the views, worth every cent we spent and more, which was very inexpensive since it was close to end of their season. The shuttle was nice to have since we did not want to rent a car for trips into Fira. We ended up having an absolutely perfect day of weather for our big day and we were able to get The most beautiful pictures of the proposal and wedding as the sun was setting right after the ceremony was finished. Thank you so much Nefeli, Minas, Dina, Chris, and everybody else for making our stay so memorable!!
My partner and I have just returned from 4 nights here, celebrating our 10year anniversary. Even though we'd seen the website pictures of the view from the 'front door', when you arrive and see it for yourself it is jaw dropping! OMG, it is so amazing!! We were welcomed by a lady on reception, given a glass of something bubbly and had the hotel and the island explained to us. Our room (115) was lovely, although the front seating area was not actually 'private' as there was a walkway right in front of our room to the rooms alongside. This was a little disappointing as I was expecting a 100% private balcony. The room was large, with a jaccouzi bath and very clean. Breakfasts were exceptional, we could chose from 4 different breakfast combinations, one with a glass of champagne included. The breakfast room had only about 8 tables and we were lucky enough to get a window table 3 out of 4 mornings and the view was spectacular. The weather was lovely, perfect for visiting the islands sites but we had very stormy winds 2 nights (no fault of the hotel of course!!) which made it feel a little scary walking down the steep steps from the street!! There is a lift so it was optional to either walk down lots of steps to our room on the bottom floor or use the lift. As the evening's were much cooler (last few days in October) it was too cold to sit outside in the hotel's outside seating areas. Would have been nice to have had an indoor 'lounge' area for the colder/windy evenings. That's my only criticism though! We will definitely be back! The whole island is beautiful and it was great going out of season as less crowded. Sunsets from the hotel are wonderful, and much more romantic being in our own rather than in a crowded street!!
This is a great place to stay in Fira, Santorini, beautiful views, great rooms and overall great service. However, when we arrived, we were greeted by a very rude woman. We travel a lot and live in Peru and almost from the beginning, this woman said that she had been in Peru, when I asked if she had visited Cusco / Machu Picchu (one of the 7 Wonders of the World), she said that she would not go there because of the ¨bad energy of the place where they decapitated people in sacrifices¨. I told her she was wrong and she insisted saying that she had two family Greek priests and she knew what she was talking about. We decided not to spoil our stay with this very toxic woman and tried to avoid her. However, the rest of the staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. I would have given this place a 5, but Management of this hotel should screen their employees better not to offend guests with ignorant people like this.
We had a lovely 8 nights in a honeymoon suite (room 122) at the Petit palace hotel. This room is slightly away from all the other rooms which I think is a unique quality for privacy. The views from the room were breathtaking. Breakfasts are excellent and full of choice and variety… healthy or indulgent, champagne, coffee etc. enough to see you through to dinner. You can have breakfast brought to your room which is a lovely touch if you want to be lazy. The food was really good - burgers, club sandwiches, the chicken salad, the steak all hit the spot. Food generally to a good standard and priced appropriately for what you get. Drinks choice was good and cocktails were tasty, although they did run out of draft beer after only the second night and didn’t get any in for the remainder of the stay (6 days), which was slightly disapointing given I am not a massive fan of bottled beer, but with everything else so perfect I managed to see past my preference for draft beer! Staff were superb - the ladies at the front desk were pleasent, helpful, informative and a pleasure to deal with. The guys working the bar, restaurant etc. were also really personable, polite and efficient but also took time out to have a chat. The main pool area was well kept and a great spot to spend the day to catch some sun and enjoy a couple of drinks. There is no bar as such in the evenings, but if you are sitting around the lounge area the staff will come and serve you. As I have said the views are stunning and I do not think you could get a much better sunset than you can from the Petit palace at the time of year we visited. Location - 10 euro taxi to Fira town in about 5 mins - lots of disco bars for some shots, bars for a quiet drink, restaurants for something quick or a nice 3 course meal and shops for local gifts including high end designer stores, so something for everyone. Great vibe and lots of new places you find each time you go to town owing to the various alleys you can wonder down within the town. Oia town is slightly further - 30 mins in a cab and about 30 euros - this is more refined with some beautiful restaurants with more of a focus on couples from what I could make out after one evening there. Wish we had visited Oia more. On the whole - great hotel and perfect for romantic getaways and honeymoons. Worth the money!
Lovely location brilliant for sunset watch. 5mins in car or free shuttle bus to Fira a very lively town .Not so busy and touristy as Ohia although that is beautiful and deserves a visit. Staff were very helpful .Breakfast was excellent. It has a lift which could be helpful as there many steps down to rooms. Pool was great never crowded. Boat trips definitely to be recommended. lovely cafe opposite the owner is a mine of information great for nightcaps called art Cafe
We stayed in a large junior suite which was situated on two floors - with our own balcony for breakfast, and terrace with sunbeds and plunge pool. All the staff we met - at the reception, dining area, and spa treatments - were charming and very helpful. Everywhere was spotless. Although we had a slight hiccup with the transfer from the airport, we were warmly welcomed with a glass of sangria. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location overlooking the caldera and there are plenty of open spaces and sofas to enjoy the views. It is situated 2 km from Fira but we used the complimentary hotel shuttle for this journey. There are four choices for breakfast which can be taken on our own balcony or in the dining room. We enjoyed two evening meals at the restaurant anf the food and wine was excellent. I had my first ever outdoor massage here - a very relaxing experience. Every guest has a 15 mins massage complimentary and I paid 50 euros for an extra half hour. The Santo Winery is within a 10 min walking distance. It is not cheap, but the wine flights and sunset views made it a memorable visit! Two niggles - the hotel wifi did not work at within the suite, and was intermittent on the terrace. We complained a number of times at reception that our air conditioning was not working, but it was never sorted. This lack of A/C was just about manageable for the last week in September, but would have been unbearable in mid-summer. But, overall, a wonderful hotel.
We took a 3 week trip of our lifetime and traveled through Italy, ending in Santorini at this beautiful hotel. It was beyond our expectations and although we stayed in some wonderful hotels through Italy, nothing compares to the spectacular views from here! Perfect ending to our trip! Would love to come back! I had a massage at hotel and another spa treatment at their sister hotel, Desol Spa Hotel, which was heavenly! Very relaxing and professional treatments. Thanks to Sophia for invitation and to Stelio's, my masseuse, who totally relaxed me. Also, to the very attentive and helpful staff!
My husband and I visited Petit Palace for 3 nights to celebrate our one year anniversary. This was in the middle of our trip between Paros and Athens, and was absolute perfection. We had a transfer from the ferry and were at the hotel in minutes. From our first step in the doors we were in awe. WOW. Carola met us, treated us to sangria, and talked to us about the island, the property, and was so kind and funny. We had our own lunge pool, amazing views all hours of the day, and even a bottle of wine and fruit waiting for us in our room as a sweet welcome. We walked to Fira (about 20 minutes) to watch sunsets and eat dinner, and we explored the island every minute we were awake! Must do: hike to Oia (we walked the entire way from the hotel and were SO tired afterward but it was well worth it!) - one of my favorite days in Greece. Rented an ATV in Fira for a day and took it to Akrotiri, west of the hotel. Sailed with 4 other couples around the island to the volcanoes, red beach, and white beach for a full day.. And just walked and explored, stopping for coffee, wine, and food along the way. What a special place. The staff made this one of the most memorable hotels we've ever stayed in. Thank you Fani, Carola, and the rest of the Petit Palace staff! Oh, and breakfast was wonderful and included!
