Pension Petros3.0 out of 5.0

I loved this hotel for several reasons: 1.Its place: 10 min from bus stop 5 min from the main square 2. Staff: Staff is very pleasant and warm, they helped us to figure out which places are worth visiting in Santorini, where are the best restaurants with the best prices and food and were always there with any help <3 3. Small hotel with a cozy pool A nice place to cool during the hot day. Mind that they do not serve meals.
Very clean, had a fridge, air-conditioning, bathroom with shower, lots of hot water, kettle. We had room 17 which was very snug. Double bed pushed up against the wall. Small swimming pool under hotel. Had it to myself. Not very big but nice when you have it to yourself. Nice and clean. Sun loungers around pool area. Reception were very good, informative, went and asked for extra pillows, which were given gladly. They rang a taxi for us for the ferry port and it came right on time. A short walk into town and to the bus station. Also short walk to the Calder. Would definitely stay again but would request a larger room.
We had a great 3 night stay at Pension Petros. We booked one of the last rooms left on booking.com about 3 weeks before our stay. The day before we were due to arrive, the hotel emailed offering to book a taxi to or from the port/airport for €20. They didn't email back with a confirmation so we were a little unsure if it would be there, but we were greeted at the airport by our name on a card and a driver. It took about 20/25minute from airport to hotel and same from the ferry port. Although we are unsure if this is above the usual price it was worth it and made our transfers very easy. The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring and feels very safe. It is about 2 minutes walk to the main square, 5 minutes to the shopping lanes, restaurants, views and about 5 minutes to the local bus stop where you can get buses to Perissa, Kamari, Oia and more. If travelling to Oia for the sunset make sure you prebook a return taxi or have your own transport, as buses back to Fira get super (crazy) busy. The hotel recommended a few restaurants, such as Spring in Kamari which we did try, but they weren't great so maybe look them up before you go. We had an Economy double room in the semi-basement which was basic but nice and clean. The room included: air con, hairdryer, fridge, small tv, dressing table, mirror, wardrobe/hangers and a kettle. The wifi signal was poor but this was probably due to the fact we were on a lower ground floor. The bathroom was very small but again clean. The towels are changed (they're not the softest!) and beds are made everyday. Small soap and shampoo/shower gels are provided and also topped up everyday. For lower floor rooms, double doors open out onto a shared porch where you have a table and chairs for each room. In terms of noise, you can hear doors closing and people speaking but nothing major. The covered pool area is quite small and doesn't get much sun but the beaches are within easy reach so it didn't matter to us. I don't think I'd recommend it if you are looking to lounge around the pool all day. Overall it is a great base and I'd definitely recommend it for the affordability, location and cleanliness.
My 2 friends and I stayed at Pension Petros for 2 nights while in Santorini and it was a great stay! We booked through Expedia and confirmed with the family that owns the hotel. They were very nice and accommodating when we arrived. We arrived pretty early so they allowed us to put our bags down and we had breakfast down the street and rented ATVs while waiting. The room was small and clean and had a nice patio/balcony area. I felt very safe in the hotel even at night. The ladies at the desk were very helpful with giving us suggestions for things to do and provided maps and brochures for the island. They even were able to provide us with beach towels when we were going on a boat trip! This was in perfect walking distance to the heart of Fira, we were able to go out one night and felt comfortable on our short walk back and even during the day it was a good location to the center of town. I would definitely stay here again.
The best thing about this hotel was the family that runs it. They live on the upper floor and go to great lengths to ensure a lovely stay with them. One of the daughters planned out things for us to do every day. She gave us excellent suggestions and great directions for places to go and activities off of the main tourist path. She booked our boat cruise and helped us rent our ATVs (which are delivered right to the hotel when you request them). We arrived past 12am when the reception was closed, so they left a note and key for us with no issue. The hotel was quiet when we stayed so we did not have issues with the thin walls that others have complained about.
The place is exactly in the centre of fira... The staff are very welcoming and rooms are very clean...if i had to come again am sure i come back to you. Thanks for everything :) P.s Room 7 with a good sized balcony and good wifi...
Room was a bit tighty with no view or balcony but very clean. Location is perfect, almost in stict center of Fira with all shops, restaurant and nightlife but very quiet for sleeping. Girls at reception were so helpful and nice. Overall nice stay.
In the center of the luxurious Fira it is no surprise that a 45€ room in this Pension would be deceiving. The location is convenient, walking distance to the bus stop (very easy ride from airport) and center of Fira. The hospitality was good. I cannot say the same about the room. We had the room in the back on the 1st floor. Shower and sink were clogged. The bed was one of the worst one I got to sleep in, ever (and I traveled several continents, stayed in every type of accommodation you can think of, ranging from sketchy airbnbs,brothel/hostel/pension to five star hotels and resorts). The worst part was probably the lack of soundproofing - do not take this lightly. The door is extremely thin, the corridor is echoic. It wouldn't be so bad if guests just came and went and the noise would last a few minutes. But in our case a couple of them were having animated late night (11PM-1AM) discussions in their room, with the door open I assume. Every morning the cleaning staff would start their shift early and the sound of their bucket being dragged and tossed around would wake us up. We were lucky to have a room on the first floor. Because the one we visited on the lower floor, 10€ cheaper, was incredibly smelly (moldy?). To end on a positive note...it's in a quiet and safe area, the wifi works well, the balcony had a bit of a view
This place has potential, but I guess the owners are too greedy or lazy to renovate it.. We had room #4 with a nice balcony. The place was clean and the staff friendly, but ohhh what a deception. The bed was the worst I've experienced in 20 years of traveling. Feels like you're on a box spring with noisy coils and flat pillows (just like in the army)... The noise level of the corridor was surreal. You can hear everything !!! The cleaning lady is like a monster with a giant bucket smashing on the floor, penetrating the best ear plugs you can get !!! Awful... Every time the guests closed their doors, it seemed like they were upset... Upset to be in this place for sure!! The wifi barely worked in the room. The shower was flooding every time we took one (clogged drain). On top of everything, mosquitos would fly around our ears and bite us in the night even thought we didn't open the balcony door... One suggestion ---> DON'T go there, you will regret it !!!
Hospitality is below average, the rooms do not reflect in any way images on site; I believe this pension is deceiving customers, the fridge was extremely noisy, same comment applies to air-conditioning; there was NIL noise insulation between rooms & rooms & corridor; I was able to hear people in the room drying their hair while in the corridor; the mattress was terrible; I selected the most expensive room they had & ended in one that was a nightmare & did not match room description advertised; the only good point was that the room was clean;
