This quiet hotel is in an excellent location, away from the hustle and bustle of busy resorts but within easy access. Bus service is great and the hotel will arrange any transport at a reasonable cost. There is a free shuttle down to a fantastic beach and the hotel has really comfy loungers with free towels, changing facilities and shower. Great bars and choice of food. The rooms are well serviced and clean with good beds, fridge and tv. Hairdryer in bathroom. The staff are fantastic - very welcoming and happy to help. We (family group of 5) stayed twice on either side of a trip to another island (3 nights in total) and I cannot find a negative thing to say about them. Areti in the restaurant and bar was so great and made us so welcome - she was an expert cocktail maker and prepared her own fruit purees and even created one of our group her own cocktail. We had snack lunches and one meal at the hotel, all were good and the prices comparable to many of the restaurants. The pool area is lovely with comfy big bed loungers and with the hotel located on a high point of the island the views are spectacular! We were there early/mid June and it was quiet but we got the feel that it would never feel too crowded. It is located on the edge of Pyrgos, a beautiful village where you can easily spend a day, lots of eatiers from basic to top-class. There is also a winery close to the hotel which we understand does a fantastic wine tasting tour at a reasonable price. I would have no problem recommending this hotel to couples, families (looking for a quiet trip - there is no entertainment) or groups. We loved it.
The staff at the hotel are very friendly and welcoming. Willing to help with everything. The location is close to the beatiful village of pyrgos. Very good breakfast. Very good resturants and coffee places in the area.
We stayed at the Hotel orizontes for 3 nights. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Our plane arrived in Santorini at 8am and even though check in wasn't until after 2pm they managed to get a room clean and ready for us by 10.30am. The room was clean and had a great view from the balcony of the island. The location is about 30 minutes away from Oia, 15 minutes from Thira and 15 minutes from the south of the island where we found nice beaches and restaurants. You can easily hire cars/bikes through reception, or there are buses you can catch quite cheap from the front of the hotel. Breakfast had plenty of nice options and was good value. The pool area was so nice and we had a nice meal at the Hotel restaurant. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Santorini.
2 days visit for business. One doesn't expect much. But room 902 has no view... Or better has a window on the toilet that overlooks the back scrap yard of the hotel! As for the front? Against the working/support staff area. So early in the morning you have all the cleaning noises.... Add to that, noise from the pool cleaning machine... Every 25 min or so. There goes your vacation... No wifi in the rooms in the year 2017 Pool area? Amazing! Breakfast? Poor for 4 star hotel No emphasis to Greek products, no light food corner, extra charge even for the Greek coffee. Keep in mind you all, that is illegal in Greece. Greek coffee is by law included in Breakfast! Friendly staff. They try but how can one win you over the 902 room experience? Gregor the owner, suggested one bar and one restaurant. I would have gone but my room experience stopped me. So no opinion there... Areti working at the bar is a cocktail enthusiast and quite knowledgeable in cocktail making. Pay a visit at the pool bar. This is definitely NOT a review one would like to do on a Santorini hotel. They can do better!
We love the position of this hotel, it is just outside of Pyrgos but close enough to everything. The pool and view is absolutely stunning! Taking the location out of the equation let's talk about the staff who are wonderful and do everything possible to make your stay fabulous. A couple of mentions go especially to Jimmy who drove us a round and really looked after us. Maria who works the morning shift and has such a sunny nature that she literally brightens up an already sunny day. Last but not least I must mention Biba the hotel stray cat who stole my heart. This little cat has such a loving nature that he soon became my room mate telling me when he wanted to come in and out. I know this is not for everybody but he did kind of make my holiday complete. So if you see Biba chat to him and give him some attention, once he has your trust he will become your little holiday shadow.
One of my worst experiences so far. Pros: 1. Beautiful swimming pool 2. Nice view of the island Cons: 1. We booked a Superior Sea View room for 4 nights but on our first night, we were lodged into a standard room. When we confronted the manager Zeljko, he said he didn't understand what a Superior Sea View room was (and he said he has been working there for 4 years). Later on (when he realized we won't give in) he told us, they would move us to a Superior room next morning. 2. Next morning we were moved into a Superior Sea View room. We liked it but soon found out that the room had problems with the door lock. We informed the manager, left our keys with them and went out for sight seeing. 3. On our return, we were told by the manager Zeljko that our stuff was moved to another Superior room (without consulting with us) because they couldn't fix the door lock. We found it extremely unprofessional. The staff even shuffled our stuff. Never saw that before anywhere. 4. The new room had its own problems, an electric short circuit left the room without electricity. At this stage, my wife gave up all the niceties and spoke to the manager in the language he could understand and they moved us back to the first Superior room and we discovered that door lock was already fixed. So they lied to us about it. 5. The breakfast was average. Overall, the hotel staff seemed extremely unprepared, unwelcoming and lied to us on every step. Despite paying for a Superior room for 4 nights, we spent a night in a standard room. I would probably never stay with them again.
Went there in 2014, everything was great. We got a villa and our room was upstairs. I only hate the location, need to walk far to wait for the bus and the bus always late so we end up taking taxi. I am not sure why our travel agent gave us this hotel in pyrgos instead of in oia, maybe it was cheaper.
Located in the village of Pyrgos with a very scenic view over facing the Caldera and magnificent view of sunset from room balcony. Great breakfast and very friendly staffs. Stayed for 2 nights. They need to work on their room wifi.
Orizontes sits atop the high peaks of Pygros and takes in 360 degree views of the whole island. The staff are incredibly friendly and extremely helpful. Dinner and breakfast was bland and even a little cold to be honest. Plus the cappuccino coffee was terrible. I'd recommend eating in town instead. The pool is amazing and again takes advantage of the view. Being high up on Santorinis peaks means for great sunsets but beware it is always cooler and windy here. Definitely recommend hiring an ATV or car to get around to see Red beach, Parissa Black beach and Oia which is where all the famous photos of Santorini are taken. It is literally impossible to take a bad photo here - just point and shoot. For a perfect end to the day try the 18 glass wine tasting at Santos Wines just down the road from the Orizontes hotel. Santos hangs over the cliff edge looking down into the caldera of the very old but still active volcano. Sipping wine as the sun sets truly is the Santorini experience.
We were greeted by Vivian who showed us to our Room 312. It was decent, with a good view of the pool and a great balcony to watch the sunset from. But the bathroom and in-room facilities could do with a makeover. The bathrooms were not maintained well, with rust and stains in many places. Breakfast options were limited, with nearly zero options for vegetarians. The bus stand is nearby, so we were able to visit Fira and Oia easily. The scchedule is put up at the reception. Both Vivian and Suzzane were quite friendly and assisted us in our tour plan. The pool is splendid but untouched. Overall a fair experience.
