Disappointed with the room quite basic for £800 per night. Coffee machine in the room at a charge of 2 or 3 euro per capsule. 3 pools but not enough sun loungers. 7.50 Euro for a bottle of water. Also very disappointed with the restaurants. I don't mind paying a premium if it good food but the food very average. Ate at Mikrasia for our anniversary table booked for 9 actually got our main course at 11. Service very slow and food average Had far better food on the island Melitini great tapas. Sphinx restaurant great food and sunset views. I don't feel anything was value at Katikies hotel only the view
We have just returned from our honeymoon, 10 days in Katikies in Oia. This is a property worthy of its 5* status. We had booked a senior suite with an indoor jacuzzi bath. I did request by email an outdoor jacuzzi which we were delighted to find that they had upgraded us to on check in. (A glass of fizz in the jacuzzi while watching the sun go down was magical). The suite was beautiful with a nightly turn down service as well as the daily clean. We spent most days at the upper pool as we found it quieter and more relaxing. Service here was exceptional, a special thanks to Antonis who just couldn't do enough for us, even repositioning the umbrella every half an hour so that my wife could have some shade while I baked in the sun!! Drinks are expensive but beautifully presented with various nibbles. Breakfast which you can have in the champagne bar or delivered to your terrace was probably the best quality I've had in a hotel with a huge variety to choose from. The morning smiles from Spyros always started our day beautifully! We also had lunch around the pool on a few occasions. Again, not cheap but very good (The burger was to die for!) Can't comment on dinner in either of the restaurants as we preferred to go out in the evening and discover the great variety of local restaurants and tavernas. So as you can see, we loved Katikes and would return. We did however, have a couple of niggles. The T.V. service needs a serious upgrade, the poor reception made it almost unwatchable. Also, the hotel provides you with 1 bottle of water each day when turning down your room. Otherwise you are charged an eye watering €7.5 per bottle. They also charge €3 for each coffee capsule you use. I do think for the price you pay (a lot!), then there should be tea, coffee and water available throughout the day. Overall though, fab hotel....the pic is the view from our suite 😁
We stayed here for 5 nights in July to celebrate a friends birthday and quite simply it wasn't enough. The hotel has the most breathtaking view of the sea, the island and the sunset. There are three pools all situated on different levels as the hotel cascades down the hill. There is a lift but this is definitely not a property for anyone with physical disabilities, there are a lot of stairs. We were quite grateful as it was an opportunity to walk off some of the over eating and drinking. The rooms are cute, not grand and could do with more cupboard space but the bathroom is very roomy with a big shower. We also had a little private balcony with jaccuzi pool and quite simply waking up to the view each morning made everything feel like heaven. Despite the beauty what most resonated with us was the staff who were brilliant, they were all beyond helpful and attentive and quite simply, nothing was too much. Breakfast was great, the only negative was that the alcohol was prohibitively priced and that one had to pay 3 euros for each nespresso pod in the room. if money is no object, then join the kardashians and myself and get yourself to this hotel.
After staying for 2 weeks in Santorini , I can say that the best place to stay at is in Oia...skip Fira as to not waste time and effort changing hotels. That's just my personal opinion as we also stayed in Fira... Now about Katikies, My husband and I along with our 13 year old son stayed there and the place is just so romantic and everything is perfect , the staff are also very friendly. I was grateful because at first i thought that they wont allow the 3 of us in one room as I have read somewhere that some hotels in Oia would only allow 2 people in a room with no kids.. so happy with Katikies .. will return again
I was not sure at first when I booked Katikies Hotel online. It was very expensive compared to several other hotels in the area of Oia in Santorini. But my one night stay was fantastic! It was an experience of a lifetime, with an amazing view from my room's window as well as from the infinity pools. I will let my mobile-phone photos explain what I mean. In terms of location, facilities and service, I am very satisfied. I recommend this hotel to whoever plans to visit Santorini.
My friend and I stayed here at the end of June for 5 nights. The place was lovely and in a great spot, neatly tucked away from the heavy traffic of tourists. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean and spacious, with a nice balcony area to admire the breathtaking views. A few things that would have made this "very good" rating "excellent". Wish our balcony area had lounge chairs vs small wicker chairs so we could relax privately when back in our room. Our neighbors had lounge chairs with a similarly sized balcony area. Since our room did not have its own pool, we were relegated to use the 2 main infinity pools of the property. These 2 pools had beautiful views, but very limited lounge chairs for the capacity of the hotel. Therefore, if you couldn't snag a lounge chair with umbrella early, you were out of luck. Most people left their belongings there all day, so you couldn't come later to enjoy the pools. The pools also had limited space. They were not that large, and went from shallow to deep very quickly, which made people huddle in the shallow end. One pool didn't even have steps to get in or out! Hope you have good upper body strength to get in/out. The pool areas were clean and always well attended by staff for any needs. One pool had a DJ playing club/mood music, the other pool (without steps) was more quiet and tranquil. The food was great. We actually dined outside our room a couple of times instead of going out. The complimentary buffet breakfast offered with our room had a large selection, including a la cart menu options, which we loved. I'd like to highlight a staff member that always made sure our experience at the restaurants and pool areas was excellent...Spyros Rospy. He was always available, helpful, and attentive. Our room was lovely, clean, and spacious with a seating area inside. We had a jacuzzi tub/shower. However, any time you turned on the water, some would leak out from the bottom and wet the floor. Not a big issue, but always had to remember to put a towel down to get in/out since the tub sides were very high, requiring a very skillful entry/exit without killing yourself. Overall, a nice experience. I will return to Santorini, but may look over other properties to compare, before choosing to stay here again, since it's not an inexpensive stay.
The hotel is located on a beautiful place. The staffs were very friendly and the FOH team were very welcoming. My husband and myself visited for our mini honeymoon and had an amazing time there. I would recommend alot of couples to stay there whenever you visit Santorini 😘
Whether you want romance or just pure luxury, katikies is for you. We were a group of 3 couples and spent 6 luxurious nights being pampered and spoilt by the most attentive staff. Great cocktails, delicious food and the most amazing view of the Caldera. It being extremely hot, there was nothing better than floating at the edge of the pool watching the boating down below. The front desk staff were terrific, unfortunately we had less confidence in the concierge Panos, but we lived everything else about this paradise. Be aware there are over 100 steps from top to bottom although there is a lift for those with the desire to avoid the climb. An amazing hotel
The Katikies hotel is in a gorgeous setting located in a perfect place for great strolls through town to see amazing sunsets. The Infiniti pools are gorgeous and the wait staff around the pools and in the restaurants is exceptional!
We stayed four nights in Fira and one night in Ora. All the three hotels we stayed have very beautiful view, from the Fira ones we could see the sun set by the pool side of our suites. Katikies Hotel charged three times of price of the other two hotels, but its room and service was the poorest one among the three. Katikies Hotel has good location in Ora, its appearance was nice and as beautiful as the pictures it shows. We stayed in suite #10, close to the main road. The room was not as big and new as the ones of the other two hotels, and the bedding were in a color of long time use. Guess the room has never been renovated after its built decades ago. After the shower, the water leaked everywhere in the bathroom. And the beach bed by the plunge pool was covered by a thick layer of dust, although the pool was provided with 24 hours hot water. Later we found left our Shiseido sunscreen in the bath room when we checked out at 11am but no one mentioned that/gave it back to us when we were back to pick up the luggage and leave at 13:30pm. The package was big enough to be identified when doing the cleaning.
