Everything was great, from the cute, white rooms to the amazing view and the super-friendly staff! The food at Mikrasia was delicious and the girls at the reception Aphrodite and Theodora were extremely helpful with directions and their warm smile. An overall great stay!
I can highly recommend this amazing hotel. Friendly and very charming staff, great location, high quality and modern equipment. I will come again very soon! Just awesome spot, thank you! One of the best spots in Greece I’ve ever been!
Perfect view. Perfect accommodation. Really nice and warm people. Definitely worth the visit. Location was close to the centre and shops I've been to other hotels on the island in the past but katikies is definitely the best one we've been.
We had an amazing stay at the Katikies Hotel. The rooms are stylish yet cozy and everything is spotless. What contributed most to the unique atmosphere was the staff. Antonis the hotel manager gave us a very warm welcome and went out of his way to make our stay a memorable one. Christos at the restaurant Seltz was - beside the amazing food - the reason we ate there more than once. We highly recommend the Katikies Hotel and will be back for sure.
The hotel is very special... comfortable room, the view is amazing, the staff very kind, and good quality of Mediterranean and Greek food and wine... three swimmingpool with infinity view to enjoy lounge music,a perfect place to spend a vacation in Santorini.
Since we arrived at the hotel Anthony welcomed us and took care of us. The white rooms were wonderful with a beautiful view. The breakfast was delicious and the cocktails in the pool area were great as well. We will definitely come back to this hotel once back in Santorini!
I lived in Katikies during 25-27 Oct 2017 with my wife. By writing this I am not saying the hotel was awfully bad, but considering my own experience, it is definitely not capable for a 5-star title and customer's best choice reward, as I did live somewhere near it and think that was much better (value for money). If you do not require a 5-star hotel every time, think twice and do read the reviews from both sides, before you present your credit card, as you may get a chance to go to wrong side of the amazing trip. 1. Bell Boy - 8 out of 10 The prior hotel arranged a taxi to transfer our luggages to Katikies and we didn't follow the taxi. When we got to our room, the luggage had been there. Thus we were happy about it although we didn't see the procedure. 2. Receptionist / Front desk / Introduction - 5 out of 10 Pros: (1). The receptionist were polite, and kindly helped us to print the flight tickets for free, upon request. I highly appreciate that. (2). The welcome introduction of feature and facilities was nice and clear. Cons: (1). We were told to be having a bottle of champagne out of courtesy, which is the end and we did not see it coming over the next 2 days. (2). Every time we came from outside, we were asked the room number by a staff passed by, to confirm we were their guest. It was good to secure the hotel from strangers, but made us feel uncomfortable of being suspicious and unfamiliar with, especially after this happened 3 times. (3). When we asked for the airport transfer services, we were told that shuttle bus only operated for a certain period of time. We did not end up with getting the detailed time table although we asked twice, and we were simply told there was no free service provided for our flight at 12pm. We will be happy to suit their time table if we could enjoy a free transfer but it seemed the receptionist didn't consider this at all. She told me private transfer could be arranged at a cost of 50 Euro instead of 100 that day (after she turned her head to talk to a person in the room for 1 second). For me the procedure of the price decision and "discount" offered is very funny and questionable. I really can't believe that a 5-star award winner did not provide a standard time table and price list for transfer, and instead made you feel like you were bargaining in a souvenir shop... We decided ask them to book a taxi as they told us the price was usually around 40 Euros. When we got on the taxi, we got told the price was 45, as there was an extra charge of 5 Euros for hotel booking. Can not say it was ridiculous, but this was the first time I saw a 5-star hotel charging booking fee and in such a sneaky way (by not telling us the full story upfront) 3. Room 3 out of 10 (1). The room was tiring to arrive, with almost 80 steep stairs, which was dangerous for aged people. It was understandable for a cliff hotel and to my surprise Katikies had lift, which was amazing in area like Oia. But still it was not very handy and close to our room No.11. (2). The room very small and basic. They did provide generous storage and bathroom though, the shower sink is sort of block and making the bathroom soaking wet every time when we took a shower. What's more, the room is extremely humid, with the bed sheet almost wet. We asked for a replacement bed sheet on the second day. 3. We had a small terrace which had great sea and mountain view. 4. Our room did not come with a private pool, which surprised us a little bit as we thought every room had a private pool on the website photos. We may not have paid extra for a pool though, it felt very bad to be the only room without a pool surrounded by 8 rooms that all had one... 4. Facilities and leisure (including services). 5/10 The facilities we nice, especially the 3 pools, bars and spa. However the main pool did not seem to have enough lounges to accommodate people from 30ish rooms that they had. And speaking about the bar attendants, I do think they need more training to be more alert and thoughtful. We had to ask for the towel, umbrella setup, drinking menu and food menu several time by ourselves, with only 4 couples in the bar, which did not present and really professional hotel service. 5. Breakfast (including services) 6 out of 10 The breakfast itself was very nice with wonderful range of choices. They did have a menu for you to order things like fried eggs and omelettes. However, I have no idea why the staff looked at us and put away the menu when we had not ordered anything yet. Also our fried eggs took 30 mins to come, while the guests came later than us have finished their luxury omelette... more or less disappointed. Overall I will not recommend Katikies of not all the rooms are off same level of facilities and services, as it made you feel more or less deceived by the pictures and abnormally high rating on bookings and hotels combine.
This is a very expensive luxury hotel. OK, we knew what we were signing up for. What we didn't expect was being offered three different rooms before one was acceptable. Every room is different although all are more or less the same size. Room 1 had the bed in a loft accessible by a long, steep flight of stairs. Not something I would want to negotiate at night, in the dark, to get to the bathroom. Room 2 was just below the street with all the street traffic looking down on your terrace. Room 3 was just fine, but we shouldn't have had to climb all over the resort to find one that was acceptable. Be aware that while all rooms have terraces, not all of them them have lounges on the terrace. Like most hotels in Oia, this is built into the side of the mountain which means lots of stairs. There are two elevators but most rooms still require climbing stairs to access. The staff was accommodating but not what I would call warm or welcoming. If that's the price of luxury perhaps that's why I rarely stay in truly luxury hotels. Unless you don't care what things cost, I would not eat in this hotel. We had lunch one day and ate in their luxury restaurant one evening. The prices are outrageous and that comment comes from someone who lives in New York City so I know from expensive. The meals were good but just plain not worth the money. Try some of the restaurants off the main tourist street.
Great location, comfortable junior suite (loft), very very beautiful property with many instagrammable moments. Service is good in general. However, why any luxury property would not have proper quality control and serve me 3 burnt (black) pancakes for breakfast is a mystery to me. Sad looking pale bacon (with a bunch of hastily assembled lettuce) and low quality supermarket tasting croissants add to the sad state of the highly anticipated breakfast. This is for the made to order breakfast delivered to our patio. Breakfast at the pool was marginally better. Just don't expect much for breakfast, and the rest of the stay is nice. Pity, cos this hotel had the potential to be one of the best. Folks with knees problem, beware many steps in this property, even with the lift.
We had 5 days of being treated as Royalty. We woke up each morning the most amazing views. The management of the hotel pays attention to every detail of the hotel. The staff can not do enough to please their guests. I have been to several 5 star hotels where the staff does not treat you as a valuable guest. Every meal that we had was delicious and the presentation was beautifully done. Our luggage did not arrive with us and the hotel followed up with the airline for us. I took advantage of the hotel spa and had a fabulous 1 1/2 hr massage. The room that we were in (#24 )was immaculate and tastefully appointed. It was their most private room with breathtaking views. This is a vacation that I would love to repeat. I loved Santorini and The Katikies Hotel. This hotel is a gem not to be missed.
