Azul is located in Imerovigli, just outside Fira. It is very close to the bus stop and the corner shop (jimmys) is close by for snacks and essentials. I walked to Fira everyday (20mins) i highly recommend this, u are walking downhill mostly, the view over the caldera is simply stunning. I arrived very early and my room was ready around 11am ( check in is 2pm) I was even offered a cup of coffee and a slice of cake while waiting. My double bed room was ok for me as I am a solo traveller, the bed might be on the small size for a couple my size. The bathroom is well appointed, the shower cubicle on the small size but not as bad as other reviews reported. Rooms were cleaned everyday. There was a fridge in the room but it will be nice if there was a kettle. The staff were really nice and helpful. I was even given a complimentary bottle of wine a day before leaving. My only snag is that their level of communication could be improved. I requested a airport transfer on arrival but I was not emailed back. I will recommend this hotel and will go back if I am in Santorini.
Location is brilliant, view was amazing! We had a late check in, and we were still looked after. However... Room was very small, not what we expected from pictures. Also the towels were changed only every 3 days, which came in not handy considering the weather there, and the amount of showers taken.
Excellent location for the view of the Caldera and Volcano, within walking distance to Fira and Firostevani, there is a hair salon, nice restaurant, 2 supermarkets, and car rental within 5 minutes walk; tight standing shower; no draw space; only 2 outlets; decent size closet and mini fridge
The location of the hotel is perfect, but the view to the caldera from the rooms is not very impressive. The size of the rooms were alright, and pretty spacious if I have to compare with other hotels in Santorini. I have no complains about the room. Breakfast was good, was served outside our room. Just that, there was nothing hot served - it was a cold breakfast. Also, we moved from one room to another as there was a overbooking, but I did not have a problem. Leonidas was a good host. Just one thing - I left behind my lens case and lens solution, and the housekeeping apparently thought it was garbage and threw it away. In all, it was a good stay.
A big thanks to Leonides who was very welcoming and helpful in everything. He advices us about the lovely beaches in Santorini, gave us a map showing the nice restaurants and spots for sight seeing. Cheers Leonides, hope we will meet again one day
The location is very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Leonidis was very nice and recommended places to go and even made reservations for us, also he helped us rent a car. The breakfast was good and it was sent to our room every morning. The view from the hotel was beautiful!
The good: Location is great and the view to the caldera was not as spectacular as the picture has shown on the website from our room which is located on the second floor. We did climbed up to the third level of the hotel to get a great view of the Imerovigli town in the morning as well as after the sunset. The location was almost midpoint of both Fira and Oia towns and the bus stop is closed by to the hotel. JImmy's mini-market was also located within walking distance to get water and breakfast and anything you might need during the trip. Even people that stayed in other town known about Jimmy's. Breakfast was great and you ask them to deliver it everything morning but if you are staying there multiple days, you will be bored of the same food. Finally, they do let us check in a bit early than the normal check in time once the receptionist arrived in the morning. The bad: They were really horrible at communication. I tried contacting them multiple times regarding the possible airport transfer and early check-in or luggage storage information via booking as well as hotel's email. We received no reply at all. So, I have to scramble through look for an airport transfer service online (btw, it turns out to be way cheaper than what the hotel would have quoted me). I wish that they would improve their communication more efficiently then it would be a really nice place. The ugly: Just be aware that the shower is really small but I can see why it's small because these hotels are all caved-style home and the space is limited. But the water pressure and everything was great and I was glad they provided shower curtain so the entire bathroom is not flooded with water after shower. Overall, I would still highly recommended staying at this location despite the communication issue. Once, we are check-in, it was a smooth sailing from there.
Quaint little hotel situated close enough to Santorini's main attractions, but far enough to have a peaceful and quiet stay. There's a cafe and market nearby for quick eats and supplies. Excellent view of the caldera from the third level, perfect for watching the sunset without hoards of other tourists detracting from the experience. Hearty breakfast delivered to your door every morning (although heavy on the carbs). The biggest con is the shower -- it is super tiny and makes even a small person like me (5 ft 1 in) feel claustrophobic. Overall had a good experience, especially for the price.
Stayed 2 nights in Azul Hotel. I stayed in Room No. 10 which is just off the street and had partial views of the ocean. No kettle provided in the room which is not convenient when i want to make hot drinks in such a cold day. The shower is tiny and made showering not very comfortable. The location is good as nearby restaurant, supermarket & bus stop. You can catch the bus to Fira, Oia or other parts of Santorini. Nice breakfast was served on the balcony of the room every morning.
We weren't too sure about this hotel as picture on bookings.com can sometimes be misleading. But it definitely lived up to expectations. If your looking for pure luxury Villa or a Happening Hostel, then Azul is not for you. Azul is a pleasantly quaint and humble accommodation that has well kept standard rooms but boast a stunning view of santorini. Based in IMEROVIGLI it is slightly elevated from Fira and gives a stunning view of the Caldera. The hotel has kept to the iconic all white Santorini theme and has three levels of accommodation to offer. Pay the extra for the view. Whatever it is. Just remember that this is why you came to Santorini, to be immersed in its landscape. This hotel is priced very reasonablely (we paid AUD$80 a night in April 2017) and worth having your own personal balcony to stare at those cliff faces all day everyday. The Room (3) is clean, and we'll kept. Not very big but not very small. I liked that the bed was firm and the pillows were fluffy. The bathroom is very tight but hopefully this should be an issue as you should be spending more time on your balcony then in the bathroom. The extras: towels good quality, travel accessories good, no kettle or in-room tea or coffee ( but ask the reception and they will make one up for you.) but has a small fridge to keep your water cold. Staff are fabulous and are the best part of this hotel. Sergios is funny and gives great recommendations and tips. For example, he told us to make sure we enjoy the scenic 20 minutes stroll down to Fira....but then catch the bus back up. We saw so many people do it the other way round and they looked like they were in pain. A simple tip that made our trip that much more enjoyable. Leonidas also was very obliging and greeted us at 12.30am to show us to our rooms as well as allow us to stay in the court yard while we wait for our transfers. If you contact them via email, don't be worried if they haven't replied straight a way, it takes a little time but once they do its very helpful. outstanding customer service with fantastic staff. Breakfast is amazing and it was delicious every moring. Get the breakfast it goes with the view. Weak WiFi in the room, No pool and our window was starting to break but again these problems are forgotten when your there enjoying the stunning views. Don't sweat the small stuff, if you are lucky enough to be in Santorini, try to adopt the casual island life and attitude. You will enjoy it better. We would recommend this Hotel to anyone and everyone. Love it!
