The staff was very friendly with good advice on restaurant choices and accommodating transportation needs to and from the airport and ferry. The proposals an amazing view and the pool was very nice. If you have mobility issues, then this property is not for you as it is on the hills with many steps.
Excellent place. Super friendly and helpful staff. It is very much like the pictures (you won't be disappointed).
Excellent location at the center of Fira, walking distance to taxi and bus stations, restaurants, and attractions. Friendly staffs, offered great advises on the restaurants nearby. Breakfast sent to the room. Hotel sits at the cliff, with excellent view of the caldera and the bay, however it requires heavy walk down from the main road, and is not suitable for the elderly or the physically impaired. Overall, we are very happy with the stay.
The room was smaller than I thought. The location is amazing and we had a breathtaking view of the caldera. We had a toddler with us so the steps down to get to the hotel was a little difficult but we knew this ahead of time due to previous reviews. We rented a car which was good to get around the island but parking is a nightmare, had to wait at least 30minutes each time to find a spot and on arrival had to lug our bags to the meeting spot up the hill in the heat with a toddler. Once we met at the meeting spot, the busboy was amazing carrying our heavy bags down all those stairs to the hotel. Our preordered breakfast delivered to our balcony was delicious. Would definitely stay here again next time when in Santorini, maybe not with a car!
This place was fabulous. We were upgraded to the Cave suite. Olga and Christina were so helpful and accommodating. We plan on staying at this hotel next year.
Beautiful!! Loved our stay at Porto Fira Suites! The staff was amazing as well!
Nice hotel but they charge for small things like coffee capsules and do not provide kettle in the room- they do not provide heater outside even in the cold but there is nice sitting facility with views. They need to think about customer delight and also address basic needs instead of cutting corners.
Great hotel, location, and views. Friendly staff. Close to the main bus station in town. Be prepared to walk down steps to get to the hotel, but it's worth it. Everything was great.
The hotel is beautiful & we had a private jacuzzi which was great. Immediately after I booked, I received an email from the hotel that they were upgrading us-how nice! Everything started out great with a pleasant hotel receptionist, Angela but then things went south. My friend & i have severe allergies, one of them being to bacon. We spent a lot of time reviewing them with the hotel especially when we made our breakfast requests. The next morning, my friend received her breakfast & it had bacon in it unbeknownst to her! She took one bite, tasted it immediately & ran to the bathroom & threw up. The rest of her trip was ruined as she wasn't able to enjoy anything to its fullest degree. When we told the hotel, they felt bad & offered an apology & complimentary drinks but nothing more. In fact, one of the receptionists didn't believe that my friend actually ate it - she thought my friend was lying. The hotel told us that they already upgraded us which is true but the upgrade was so insignificant because the original room that we booked was so lovely, which made the upgrade just an inconvenience since we had to be packed up so that our luggage could be moved. I realize that this review sounds a little obnoxious but I just think that for a 5 star hotel to make a mistake that gets a guest seriously ill when they were already told about the allergies, serious efforts should be put in to make the guest feel like the hotel cared and this hotel didn't do that.
Great hotel!! Very quiet but close to the city center!!
Excellent caldera view, porter and airport transportation service, delicious free breakfast they bring it to your room, Fira city center straight up the hill, endless swimming pool, rain shower, friendly service.
We stayed here in late May / early June 2017. This is a wonderful, clean and perfectly located hotel right on the cliff facing the volcano and the harbor which are 300 - 400 feet below. You are literally sitting up with the seagulls who are circling effortlessly on the breeze. Each room has a balcony and outdoor eating area. You pick your breakfast and the time you want it delivered and they deliver it each morning. Before we arrived the hotel sent us an email offering a pickup at the airport for 30 euros. We jumped at it and they were waiting with a sign when we got out of baggage claim. The driver gave us a basic introduction to the island and pointed out interesting things along the 20 minute ride to the hotel. He dropped us off at the old church on the top of the cliff where our porter was waiting to help carry our bags down to our room. The porter put my heavy back pack on his back then put one of our large suitcases on his shoulder and picked up the other large suitecase and hiked the 125 steps down to our room. When we checked in Christina sat down with us at a table in the reception area and a map of Santorini to review our vacation and give us helpful suggestions. She wrote out her recommendations and gave them to us in a booklet full of information. She also helped us choose and book a catamaran sail which was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable, warm and kind that we stopped in every day to tell her about our day and what we did.
