My wife and I have been traveling for 10 weeks, and it was time to go to Greece. I have been to Santorini before, 30 years ago, but my wife hadn’t, so I went with hesitation as I am not very fond of tourist crowds. How lucky we were to find this truly remarkable and outstanding hotel, away from the crowds and bustle but close enough to Fira that we chose to walk in one afternoon. The staff are friendly and seem really interested, not just for appearances sake. Breakfast on the balcony overlooking the caldera was one of the many highlights, with fresh local options, and the dinner we had in the restaurant one night was one of the best we had in our travels. I could not imagine staying anywhere else if I ever get the chance to return, so a huge THANK YOU to everybody at the Petit Palace, who revived my faith in this wonderful island.
From the time we arrived the staff here has been outstanding. They started by offering you a beverage and taking 10-15 minutes to explain where things are around the island and how to get around the resort for booking activities. Everyone has been so kind and helpful. When I return to Santorini I will definitely be staying here again! Best Regards, Brian
The Petit Palace is a small (approx. 26 room) boutique hotel perched on the mountainside overlooking the caldera of a still active volcano! The rooms are wonderful with private patios outside each unit. You do not need to go to Oia to see the sunset and fight the crowds when you can sit on you own patio with a drink and relax and take in the beauty The staff is very welcoming and were there to help with anything you needed. Victoria at the front desk was very helpful about what to do and where to go. The pool is small and private and beautifully staged with a very good bartender on hand at all times. The rooms were well appointed and very clean. Breakfast was ordered the day before and was served at a time you requested the next morning either at the restaurant or on your patio ($8.Euros). Also we had friends staying at another larger hotel and said ours was much nicer plus Petit Palace has an elevator which most hotels don't, making the stair climb difficult for people with ambulatory issues. My rating is 5 stars all the way. We will be back with family next time.
This hotel is amazing. The level of service is very good from the room to the restaurant to the pool area. Really relaxing place to stay and a great location for visiting the island. All the staff at this location were extremely thoughtful and ready to please
Let me start by saying a big thank you to all the staff at this hotel "THANK YOU !". All the staff her are so helpfully from the people on reception (especially Christina , thank you for the birthday cake ) , the young man who manages the restaurant , to the gentle who brought breakfast to our room every morning. All helpful, always service with a smile. we stayed here 3 night in the "petit maision" which is a two-story villa with private pool (room 119) . and great view of the caldera and perfect for that sunset view. House keeping kept the room's clean and spotless. After a busy day out in Oia or Fira this is the perfect hotel to return to, peaceful and tranquil. When I return to Santorini , this will be the hotel I stay at. On arrival we where met at the door by one of the receptions who show us to decked seating area and given a class of champagne and then you are checked in and and a brief description of the island and the hotel services. The staff can arrange most things for you . they arranged our airpoort transfers , all out taxis around the island and they arranged our food and wine tasting experience , and it was fantastic. Thank you all for making our holiday perfect
We only stayed for 1 night but it was amazing! Very lovely hotel, very good service. The reception is welcoming, provided free welcome drinks and a map, and kindly explained all the important things to know about Santorini. The hotel has a swimming pool overlooking The Caldera and a lot of people passing by stopped in front of the hotel to take pictures of the beautiful sunset. The hotel also has a small restaurant but we decided to have dinner in Fira because the menu wasn't appealing to us. But if you just want to stay at the hotel and look at the amazing view all day, the hotel does provide all the facilities. Together with other hotels in the neighbourhood they offer a shuttle service from and to Fira 7 times a day which is very convenient and will save you €10 for a taxi (one-way). They can also help you rent a car if you want to explore other cities in Santorini, which we definitely recommend. Also pay the extra buck and rent a automatic car instead of a manual one. You'll thank me later. ;-) The breakfast was included and they had a lot of choice (also suitable for people with allergies, vegetarians etc.). The price (€240,- a night in late September) was a little expensive for us but totally worth it! Good to know: you cannot see the sunrise at this hotel as the rooms are facing West and the sun rises from the East. So no need to wake up early to watch the sunrise.
We stayed at Petit Palace after a week in Athens. This is a lovely place to stay. The views are stunning, as is also evidenced by tourists stopping at the road above to take pictures of the view and sunset). It is a 20 min walk from Fira as others have said but there are regular shuttles to and from. Unless the places in Fira and Oia, it's more secluded and quiet. The breakfast is varied and you can customize as you like. The staff was amazing and really made the place. Friends met us and Christina and Mariana and Victoria helped book a last minute yacht cruise and a tour of the Akrotiri excavation (with an amazing guide). Konstantinos in the restaurant along with Stelios, Diana, and Georgia were professional and clearly great at their jobs. Eugenie, Ares and Minas were great help in anything we needed. Great place.
OMG. for 18 days, My wife and I stayed in many hotels in Italy and Greece before arriving Santorini and the Petit Palace. Booked the Grand Suite 107. From checking in and receiving a complimentary drink with an amazing view while waiting for luggage , to great breakfasts served at our room’s outdoor patio, to the amazing service and ambience the Petit management and staff were spot on!! Many hard-to-please Americans staying here, and I heard nothing but praises for the staff team. Lots of steep stairs and not handicap friendly but was not a concern for us. I highly recommend the Petit Palace and give it More than 5 stars. Boat Capt Jerry. San Antonio, TX
This is a slick operation. From the calm professionalism of the staff (who were excellent), through to the ordered structure of the breakfast booking system, this is a hotel that operates according to well oiled systems. Our Level 1 Grande Suite was spacious and comfortable with spectacular views of the Caldera sunset. It included a complementary bottle of wine, fruit and daily bottled water. However, booming traffic noise from the road overhead made sleep a difficult proposition for the first two nights. By the third, we had perhaps acclimatised to the all-night traffic. Breakfast, which is expansive and delicious, is served in the main restaurant or in your room (for an additional fee). We ate at the restaurant one night and enjoyed an excellent a la carte meal. Built into the side of the cliff at one of the best sunset viewing spots, the hotel is something of a gathering place for selfie-stick wielding tourists who are able to look down to the pool area and many of the room balconies. This would be fine, but it did leave us feeling a little exposed at times. The busy township of Fira is a 30-minute walk away along an unpleasantly busy road. Best advice would be to avoid Fira during the day when cruise ships spill hoardes of shuffling tourists into the streets. Take the shuttle bus in at night to enjoy wandering the alleyways and shops once the cruise ships have set sail. Overall, this is a lovely hotel with outstanding Caldera views. However, if you are after privacy and quiet seclusion, perhaps look beyond busy Santorini.
I would like to thank Christina and her team for making our honeymoon so memorable. We got the honeymoon suite. It was very private, had a lovely little pool. The room was nice and cool. We had breakfast most mornings outside on our terrace. It was plentiful. My favourite was the yogurt and honey. The hotel was very well maintained and looked after. It is a 20 min walk into downtown Fira. The location for us was perfect. Not to busy or overlooked. The staff are what make this place. Everyone from Christina to the guy who cleaned or pool were very friendly. The hotel has a bus that drops you into Fira on a schedule. They also collect. I can highly recommend this place.
