Chill vibes, local feel with quality hospitality

The place is beautiful. Very close to the beach (100m) but set back 1 street so it is not hectic. If you want to stay and chill by the pool you can. There is a little bar for drinks and snacks. The food is excellent and well priced. The owners are so lovely, typical Greek hospitality, but with a family vibe as well. There was a mixture of young families with kids, older retirees young couples and us. As queer travellers my partner and I always appreciate places where its no big deal and people say hello to each other and carry on with their holiday. This was just the place. Would give this place a big thumbs up.

Great place, great staff

We heavily researched our holiday and were very happy when we found black sand on Expedia. It had excellent reviews and lived up to all of them. Martha and Stephanos were extremely kind and explained how to get around the island the best way. They were always available for advice. The room was large and comfortable and the air con kept it cool. The staff at the bar were friendly and the pool perfectly faces the gorgeous mountain with ancient thira on top. The drinks were cheap, the pool was cool and the location couldn't be beat. If you're visiting Kamari stay at the black sand apartment.
