The best thing about the hotel is it's excellent location right in the heart of Oia and still in a quiet corner so you don't feel the crowds at all. It is all white and blue coloured, greek style and very charming little settlement. Our room was very large and comfortable. Staff helped us with all the advices and booked us an excursion and organized car rental. Pool looked amazing but the water at the end of May was too cold to swim in. Anyway, we loved having it because it made our view even more amazing. Sunset can be watched from the top roof terrace which is very private in comparison to crowds searching for place to stand and watch the sunset in Oia. Breakfast was very good. I totally recommend this hotel and would stay here again. 😀 Sandra, Dubrovnik, Croatia

Perfect. The hotel is centrally located yet out of the high tourist traffic. It is located on top so the steps are minimized. It has wonderful views of sunsets from the hotel that other tourists come to from cruise ships to experience. The staff was super efficient and friendly. We flew in and inquired about a transfer to the hotel, when we stepped outside the terminal looking for a cab, there was a man with our name waiting to take us to the hotel for 34 euros. The breakfast was outstanding with fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, local breads, eggs, local teas, coffee. The rooms were very large by European standards and beds comfortable. There weren’t any negatives

Pros: -Pericles is a good host -Great scenery from the hotel -Nice pool area -Good location in Oia, nearby to shops and restaurants. Cons: -Very limited breakfast, if you are lactose intolerant or are in a gluten free diet, you will probably have a very scarce breakfast. I understand this is a typical greek breakfast, but having some fruit salad and some eggs that dont have cheese would be amazing. -If you have a lot of luggage or have some walking difficulties consider that there is no direct arrival by car, you have to walk and climb some steps to get to your room. -Shower has some heating difficulties, it goes from cold to hot and viceversa constantly. -Towels are really rough. -Personally, I didn't feel it was a clean room. The rustic appearance gives it a worn out look, maybe the furniture needs updating. My complaints: -My room had dirt besides the bed (in the second floor in the 3 persons room) I understand you had a storm last night, but that meant the housekeeping didn't came in the morning. -We booked a transport to the port on our last day, and they told us the pick-up time was 10:30am. At 10 am, some lady from the front desk came looking for us and it really felt like she was scolding us. It was really uncomfortable, specially since they told us we had to be ready at 10:30. So we had to go running to the room to get our bags thru the stairs and into the front desk. We paid 39 euros per person to get a shared transport service to the port, in a van with 7 other people. We know Santorini is expensive, but really you need to improve your guest service. It doesn't feel personalized at all. The overall experience felt like it was too expensive for what we received.

Stayed at Aethrio in August 2018 in one of their triple rooms which are located on the opposite side from the rest of the Hotel backing on the Oia Main Street. The room also had a mezzanine floor which is accessed via a wooden staircase. The mezzanine floor had a third bed and offered access to a private roof top which can only be accessed via this room. The hotel is ideally located right in the heart of Oia with very good access to Oia main street, Church, restaurants and shops etc. The hotel roof top gives excellent views of the sun set and the Church if you want to avoid the crowds that gathers in the streets for the sunset. The hotel itself is large and reasonably clean with a well maintained large pool. The breakfast was too basic with limited choices which was a real let down given the price paid. I also felt on a few occasions that the hotel is poorly managed with lack of interest and care from the management. The staff lack professionalism and fail to go above and beyond which is expected given the average nightly rate for the hotel. I would not go into details as I notice from previous reviews that management reacts to constructive reviews. My only advice would be to focus your energies on what matters to guests. Breakfast experience is poor and needs urgent attention. So, would I recommend the place: only for its convenient location. Would I return : probably not and would look for something better. Good value for Money : No , at £250 a night, i expect much more from breakfast and in terms of customer service.

Probably the best place to stay in Oìa!! It is central, has a lovely swimming pool and the room/apartments are very spacious. It has a small kitchenette as well so easy to prepare your own snacks for a light dinner, before exploring the town. THE SUNSET IS ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL!! We stayed here for 3 nights; 2 nights we watched the sunset from the Hotel’s balcony. On the last night we watched it from in town central as you just HAVE to experience the popular Oìa sunset. When returning to Santorini, hopefully in the near future, we will definitely stay at the Aethrio Hotel again!!

Stayed here with my niece... it was fantastic! Large room, private terrace, great pool, breakfast buffet, conveniently located. Rooftop terrace view is great! You can see water on both sides! Can’t wait to go back! Select room 17 for view of pool and sea, 16 for view of blue domes

We have just had an amazing week in Santorini staying at Hotel Aethrio. Our room was superb - spacious and very clean. The usual plumbing issues as in all of Greece but we had clean towels as required and our room was cleaned daily. The pool is on the smaller side but very adequate for a cooling dip and a swim. Beautiful roof terrace to watch the famous Oia sunsets. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Not somewhere I would recommend for children but for an adult only holiday it is superb. There is a bus which runs every 20 mins into Fira (the capital) and the hike back from Fira to Oia - 11 kms - is worth every step. Well worth a visit and Aethrio is great value for money!

It is true what all the other reviews say this hotel is right in the centre of Oia but you wouldn’t know it when you are inside the walls, it is like a secret paradise, beautiful pool area, views to the ocean from one side and the caldera from the other. Staff were so friendly and inviting, breakfast fabulous everyday. I looked for ages at all the different hotels and while there are many beautiful hotels to stay at in Oia this hotel has everything the others have without the exorbitant prices.

The Wife and I stayed here for 9 nine nights and had the most wonderful stay. Our room was spotless and had its own private little seating area. The hotel to me is like a calm oasis in the centre of Oia, it really is like a little village all of its own. You literally walk out of one of the hotel gates and you are smack bang in the middle of Oia! The sun terrace is amazing, we went up it most nights and some times we were the only ones up there, a great way to watch the warned it gets really really busy in Oia during the evening with coach loads of tourists coming from all over the island and further afield to watch the sunset, so the hotel terrace is a massive bonus. Just take a glass of wine up and sit there are relax. The staff were all amazing, nothing was to much trouble, they just want to ensure you have the best time possible. A litre of wine at the hotel cost 10 Euro, which for Oia is amazing value......and it tasted good as well. 2.50 Euro for a can of lager, so basically the hotel is not trying to fleece its customers. The room rate which included breakfast was a great deal, there is certainly plenty to eat at breakfast time! I would not hesitate to return to this hotel, if.....and when, we return to Oia we will certainly be booking here again. An amazing hotel in an amazing place!

Aethrio is a beautiful hotel close to all that Oia has to offer. It is spotlessly clean, had a fantastic pool and even a viewing deck to see the famous sunsets. The staff are very friendly and helpful and made sure our stay was relaxing and very comfortable. I highly recommend.
