Residence Inn by Marriott Santa Fe

We stayed at the Residence Inn Santa Fe for five nights and had an absolutely fantastic stay, in no small part to the manager seeing that we were traveling with kids and upgrading us to a larger room with a loft and a king bed. Wow! Thank you! This really made our stay. This is the second time we've stayed at this Marriott property, and once again we were impressed with the quality of the room and the amenities. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated in a contemporary southwestern style, with functional kitchens and granite countertops. The overall quality of the rooms isn't what you'd see in a higher end hotel, but the unique decor makes the rooms so much nicer than a typical extended stay hotel. The property also has lots of amenities that I don't normally see in hotels of this level-- a decent sized pool with plenty of room for lounge chairs, a covered veranda/seating area, a hot tub, outdoor grills, a tennis/basketball court (with equipment available for checkout at the front desk), workout rooms, laundry facilities, mature trees and grass, and a really lovely lobby decorated in the local, southwestern style. There are mixers in the evenings several times a week. To be honest, it feels more like a miniature resort than a standard business hotel. The location is outside of the plaza area, but this isn't a problem if you have a car or if you're willing/able to walk. My wife got up each morning and ran to the plaza and back as part of her daily workout, and the kids and I walked to downtown on our last afternoon-- it's about a mile and a half, and takes you past lots of interesting southwestern style adobe homes. We also found that it's just a short 5 min. drive from the hotel to either the local Trader Joe's, Kroger's, or Whole Foods. Perhaps my favorite find was that there's a paved bike path that begins just across the street from the hotel and which leads to the Santa Fe Railyard District. From the hotel, it was just a quick 15 min. bike ride for me to Iconik Coffee-- my favorite cafe in Santa Fe-- all via a paved, separated bikeway that keeps you out of the road and traffic. Really, I can't say enough about the Residence Inn Santa Fe.

Probably the nicest RI I have stayed in. Looks new and clean. Breakfast food fair. 15 pods with 4 apartments in each. No elevators. Nice pool behind clubhouse. Nice neighborhood outside of town. 2 1/2 miles from downtown.

Huge, well-maintained rooms just a ten minute drive from the historic center of Santa Fe. It's a great budget option relative to the swanky hotels in the center of town. Friendly service. My only complaint is that the AC was very loud, both in my room and the room above me. It woke me up several times during the night.

Location is a little out of the way, if you are going to the city and don't have a car. Pool very nice, the Gym was mediocre. Am breakfast was OK, a bit repetitive. Flowers were nice.Overall, a good value.

Close To Interstate 25, yet close to Plaza and Downtown. Perfect location when you have your own or rental car. Highway 84 connector is just a long block south and convenient for visiting Albuquerque, Las Vegas, Taos as well as Santa Fe. First time visiting the area and stayed for a week exploring Santa Fe and other popular tourist areas. Having full kitchen and living room is great. Also has a self service laundry room. Breakfast is included and good way to start your day. Will definitely stay here anytime returning to Santa Fe.

1st you have to get to your room which involves a lengthy excursion from the parking lot to schlep your bags up very narrow steps even to get to a 1st floor room. The old style layout with detached buildings means many steps additionally if you are on the second floor. No elevators! We arrived in time for their social hour which consisted of a crappy soup served in styrofoam bowls. After one taste we discarded our soup. In our opinion, better to serve nothing than what was offered here. Breakfast was also offered on plastic dishes and cutlery. Most other Residence Inns are supposed to be upscale and offer food on china dishes! Food offerings were just OK. In fairness, staff was friendly and they are trying to maintain the old buildings. That does not offset the fundamental issues that his place really needs to be decertified as a Marriott property. Its time has come and gone! Don't bother to stay here unless you can get a super room rate (127 bucks was ours) We are done with this location and will just pay more at a better hotel elsewhere!

All I can guess is that this location is so full of long-term residents that visitors like my wife and I were just an inconvenience to the staff. Remote location. Dark, dank room. Indifferent staff. We cut our Santa Fe trip short to get out of this place. Never again.

A last-minute change of plans brought me to Santa Fe and the Residence Inn provided a really great experience. The staff, especially Charlotte, was very friendly and professional, and provided really great customer service. Charlotte also gave me great advice about what to see and do in beautiful Santa Fe. Twice I extended my stay, and the hotel was very accommodating and gave me a great rate. Room was very comfortable and having a full kitchen was fantastic! Thank you Residence Inn Santa Fe!

When staying several nights, Residence Inns are great as they have a full kitchen and living room. This locating is close to the Plaza and main highways, has a nice pool and hot tub and easy parking not far from the different room complexes. Hospitality manager was friendly as all the staff was, we love staying here.

Nice location and lovely rooms! Very clean and spacious - impressed that all was in good repair along with obvious pride in the maintenance of the grounds. We always get the best rates booking residence inns directly rather than through booking sources. This time, we saved $16.50 for the room over the lowest available on
