Residence Inn by Marriott Santa Fe3.0 out of 5.0

We were here for three nights. It is a great location for visiting Museum Hill. Apparently, there are a lot of medical facilities nearby and I imagine it would work really well for that also. The room was clean and everything worked. I remembered to turn on the ice maker in the freezer. The grounds were very well kept. I have had occasion to have long-term stays at Residence Inns and this is one where I would not mind a longer stay. We found several good restaurants within a couple of miles, along with good retail nearby. You can get to downtown Santa Fe easily enough but that was not something we did on this trip. I'm not sure if this property has a shuttle to take you downtown. That is something offered by other "outer" hotels because of the parking problems downtown. Front desk people were very helpful. My only complaint was that the breakfasts were not up to par. Even when we went out early, there was a lot of empty spaces where food likely had been displayed. Some of the fruit I got was not good. I know that some of the food availability issues are hard for staff to keep up on (I saw one clown take a BUNCH of bananas and put them in a bag...apparently for the rest of his trip. Another group of 5 had enough food in front of them for 25...make you wonder when was the last time they ate). But food quality is something they should pay attention to. It got to the point that, one of the days we were there, we just gave up and went out to breakfast. Nonetheless, I would come back to this hotel.
Normally love Marriott but this was not a good experience. My room smelled like bad cooking for the duration of my stay. Found a couple of bugs in the room my first few days here. Also, the deadbolt to my side door did not work properly. The washer and dryer in the laundry room which are already over priced ate my change, which was refunded. Would stay somewhere else next time.
I can't imagine why there would be any bad reviews for this hotel. Yes, it is an older Residence Inn but everything has been updated. Granite, new beds, etc. Everything was in beautiful condition. Yes, they are separate little buildings and no elevators to go to the second floor. I loved that. Felt like we were in a little cottage instead of a hotel. And they all open to the pool which is lovely! The breakfast isn't winning any awards but it is a complimentary, continental breakfast! I've had better, I've had worse. We spent 3 nights here and I would absolutely stay here again if we find ourselves back in SF. The staff was all so nice. There was no ice maker but they gladly filled up pretty good size bags of us for us to use in our cooler. Bed was Marriott quality, I slept like a baby! Loved sitting by the pool playing cards with some cocktails that I mixed up in my own little kitchen. We do a lot of VRBO rentals and this was honestly better than that because it came with daily housekeeping!
We recently traveled through Santa Fe and stayed overnight at the Residence Inn. Our room was very spacious and comfortable for this family of 5. (We had a one bedroom penthouse.) The room had a queen bed, a queen Murphy style bed and a sofa sleeper. The murphy bed was a little odd, but it worked out okay. It was reasonably comfortable. I am not sure why they have a murphy rather than an actual bed though. We visited the pool during our visit and it was really nice. Must be recently remodeled. This was our second time to stay at this property and we'll likely book again next year while on our summer road trip.
Had a long term stay and chose this location. I was actually surprised with the establishment. Room was clean and quite. The room was located near the pool which seemed to be the most popular area of the place. Room was located on the first ground floor and had a small walled porch area with a chair. This area was small not really cleaned on a regular basis. Would be sort of cramped sitting out there but it is better to sit outside by the pool anyway. Kitchen was clean. Property is family friendly. Property has laundry facilities on-site, offers breakfast, typically had coffee available throughout the night, various recreation areas available, and is located in quite part town.
We stayed here for my fathers funeral at the VA cemetery at the end of April! The staff were just so kind to my family! We stayed in the big suite and it was very nice. The manager even took us in the van to Canyon Rd and the we called later from the plaza and they picked us up. They offer dinner a few nights to guests and a very nice cooked breakfast every morning. The staff were all so warm and caring. I would stay here again. Thank you for making a sad occasion a warm memory.
The Residence Inn in Santa Fe off of galisteo road is very nice. I really enjoyed how spacious the rooms are and having the extra space to stretch out. The place was very quiet and very comfortable. The beds were also very comfortable. It was a good location in that everywhere we had to go to was only a few miles away
We stayed at the Residence Inn Santa Fe for five nights and had an absolutely fantastic stay, in no small part to the manager seeing that we were traveling with kids and upgrading us to a larger room with a loft and a king bed. Wow! Thank you! This really made our stay. This is the second time we've stayed at this Marriott property, and once again we were impressed with the quality of the room and the amenities. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated in a contemporary southwestern style, with functional kitchens and granite countertops. The overall quality of the rooms isn't what you'd see in a higher end hotel, but the unique decor makes the rooms so much nicer than a typical extended stay hotel. The property also has lots of amenities that I don't normally see in hotels of this level-- a decent sized pool with plenty of room for lounge chairs, a covered veranda/seating area, a hot tub, outdoor grills, a tennis/basketball court (with equipment available for checkout at the front desk), workout rooms, laundry facilities, mature trees and grass, and a really lovely lobby decorated in the local, southwestern style. There are mixers in the evenings several times a week. To be honest, it feels more like a miniature resort than a standard business hotel. The location is outside of the plaza area, but this isn't a problem if you have a car or if you're willing/able to walk. My wife got up each morning and ran to the plaza and back as part of her daily workout, and the kids and I walked to downtown on our last afternoon-- it's about a mile and a half, and takes you past lots of interesting southwestern style adobe homes. We also found that it's just a short 5 min. drive from the hotel to either the local Trader Joe's, Kroger's, or Whole Foods. Perhaps my favorite find was that there's a paved bike path that begins just across the street from the hotel and which leads to the Santa Fe Railyard District. From the hotel, it was just a quick 15 min. bike ride for me to Iconik Coffee-- my favorite cafe in Santa Fe-- all via a paved, separated bikeway that keeps you out of the road and traffic. Really, I can't say enough about the Residence Inn Santa Fe.
Probably the nicest RI I have stayed in. Looks new and clean. Breakfast food fair. 15 pods with 4 apartments in each. No elevators. Nice pool behind clubhouse. Nice neighborhood outside of town. 2 1/2 miles from downtown.
Huge, well-maintained rooms just a ten minute drive from the historic center of Santa Fe. It's a great budget option relative to the swanky hotels in the center of town. Friendly service. My only complaint is that the AC was very loud, both in my room and the room above me. It woke me up several times during the night.
