this was a once night stay but the hotel (david) fixed a reservation I messed up, no hassle no problem and Michael and the front desk came down and fixed the alarm in our room. the nice thing is they just took care of things and made it easy. Really appreciate it and all the people who work here just take care of you.
This hotel has a lot of pros, and a few cons that kept it from 5 stars from me. Pros: - great location on a quiet street but easy access to major highways - village design that plays to the location and gives good feeling of space - rooms are large with plenty of room to spread out. Quite comfortable as well - staff were helpful and friendly Cons: - hotel is definitely showing some age and needs a refresh. Wear and tear showing, inside one out. - layout of hotel makes the breakfast, fitness center, etc a long outside walk if it is chilly. - some of the details definitely need attention. First time I’ve stayed in a hotel that the shower curtain was 6 inches too long and gathered up on the tub floor.
Decided to stay here last minute while passing through town and I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was so friendly and helpful in giving us directions to a great Mexican restaurant (Maria’s). I loved that this place was so close to so many places. Our room was a great size with a fireplace and a little patio. We were excited to make our complimentary popcorn and use the glasses to drink the wine we brought. We parked very close to our door and just had to go up a couple stairs. The breakfast was delicious and again, the staff was friendly. I will definitely stay here again when in town.
We decided to stay off the Plaza this time. We've always enjoyed staying in the past at Loretto, Anasazi, El Dorado etc.... But, not having to pay resort fees and valet/parking fees was something not missed. Plus, as 60 year olds, we just started to use Uber. Which makes it better because you don't have to pay for parking or looking for parking. This made the trip much more enjoyable. The Residence Inn is only two miles away, and takes 6 minutes in the car. The Residence Inn was a nice place to have a comfortable stay. Having a full refrigerator, and dining area was a plus. The only negative we had was not being able to use real fire wood in the fire place. Those logs are TOXIC. Yes, we did one, no thanks! It would have been nice to have known before booking. Lastly, we are dog people. I take my dogs out constantly, and pick up their mess. But, I was always stopping to pick up other dog messes. You know why? Because I don't want to step in those at night. Dog were also let off their leashes like a dog park. It would be nice if there was signs around the property to remind guests. I want the Residence Inn to keep allowing dogs. I also would like to come back again and again. Thanks for a nice stay!
When asking for early check in as a gold member we were given no updates. Upon arrival were told the room wouldn’t be available for 3 hours and that the hotel was fully booked the night before. Something I knew to be false. Left to return the 3 hours later only to receive an app notification 30min later it was ready. The desk staff was simply rude with us and didn’t even look up the reservation or wear a name tag per policy. They also failed to answer their phone for 2 hours. Had another in our group sent to an already occupied room, exposing them to a security risk. Were informed they had an ice machine, waited for their assistance 30min before they said they infact didn’t. I will never stay or recommend this location. Highly over priced for what they offer.
Super friendly and accommodating staff led by the very personable Carmella. Could not have asked for a better place and location for my long term business stay. Very clean facilities and a very good breakfast included.
This hotel has a nice homey feeling and you don't realize you're away from home. The rooms have a fireplace which is a very unique twist. They provide a decent complimentary breakfast. Monday through Wednesday they provide complimentary evening snacks which is a nice treat.
Great place. So nice to have a fireplace on the chilly evenings. Full kitchen was great. Very clean. Front desk staff was a really nice guy. Loved parking right outside our door. Looks like a condo complex. Will be back.
This is on of the old Residence Inn properties that were built in the 1980's I believe. I think there are only a few left, under a half dozen with this style, and for that I WAS VERY HAPPY! The room was upstairs (yes, you have to carry your luggage up the staircase for your townhouse unit) and quiet for the most part. The buildings are old but the rooms are clean, do not smell, and there is LOTS OF ROOM to move around in! The king-size bedroom was an open concept, but there was plenty of privacy for us if we wanted it. The kitchen was larger than most New York apartments and there was a fireplace (which we did not use although it did get cold). Breakfast is the typical Marriot for free (I wish they would just add some zip to this) and it was fine. Coffee good, staff helpful from the breakfast staff, front desk to housekeeping. The location was just South of the Downtown area - 10 minutes by car, and plenty of nearby restaurants. Santa Fe has several publications for art, shopping and restaurants and I recommend looking at all of them and Trip Advisor too! Apparently there is going to be one more renovation of this property under the Residence name soon. That is GREAT news! I am not fond of the newer style hotel rooms (those rooms at the newer hotels are too small! Hit your knees when you get up in the middle of the night!)
Staying here felt like having a second home. Room was well appointed and the service from staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast set you up for the day and facilities made your stay relaxing. Even without a car we enjoyed the walk into town and really began to feel like a local.
