Very friendly and professional staff. Everyone was helpful. quick check-in and check-out.
Super staff, very helpful in every way. Hotel shows its age but rooms were clean and very comfortable.
The staff were so wonderful. We really enjoyed the live entertainment in the bar and our bartendress. Had a junior suite with a fireplace - and it was so cozy when it snowed! The room was a treasure-trove of woven art, photos of Chimayo, and crosses of every kind. We felt well protected. I like the fact that a percentage of the proceeds are given to the foundation. We will be back and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
This hotel was so convenient to the Plaza, and the staff was extremely helpful with directions, restaurant suggestions and bag assistance for my tired, elderly mother when my hands were already full. There is ample parking below the hotel, but it is expensive. There were also a lot of available metered street parking, if I'd been inclined to use it. The rooms are appointed with useful amenities and luxurious and local decorations. We had a private porch overlooking the interior courtyard, on which we ate breakfast that I'd purchased at a nearby creperie. The negatives were that: 1. There was no breakfast available free or for extra in the hotel. 2. The television reception was weirdly poor. 3. Also, the hotel is all on the same HVAC system, and though it was a warm night, they had already switched to heating mode, so even with our room system off, there was no way to cool it. The sign by the control noted this issue and that we could ask for fans (or if chilly in the summer, extra blankets) which I wish we had done. We had the window wide open but no air moved. A ceiling fan would help. We didn't sleep very well as we were hot. 4. The bathroom was pretty basic and dated. 5. The interior stairway to our room was a bit of a challenge both to get bags up and for my mother.
Not only was this in a perfect location, the hotel was a beautiful spot to spend our anniversary. The staff was friendly and prompt. The hotel was near several good restaurants and walking distance to the Plaza. Can't wait to stay here again!
The hotel common area are in need of cleaning & paint. Overall , the place looks tired Suite layout was very comfortable & good bed Had smokers sitting outside our window at common table ..very disconcerting . No privacy when you open curtains They should rework patio access & seating Definitely not above a 3 star due to the anove
We stayed one night. The hotel employees were friendly and helpful. The room was average in size and the bed was very soft and comfortable. Lots of pillows (bring your own if you like a firmer pillow). The air conditioning worked very well, too. Hotel Chimayo offers underground parking for $18/night - use it. Your car stays cool in the southwestern sun, and everything you want to see is truly a short walk. This hotel is right off the plaza and Santa Fe is a very easy walking town. Pretty much everything we wanted to see - Georgia O'Keefe museum, St. Francis church, various shops and restaurants - was an easy 5-10 minute walk. It was a great visit and Hotel Chimayo is a nice place to lay your head.
A friend was staying at a nearby hotel & did not get half of what I got in value, service & amenities...& he paid twice of what I did. The data went over, above. & beyond the call of duty in their service & anticipated so many of needs. This hotel was at least 40% less than nearby amidst ions & had so much more to offer. I recommend it most highly!
This place has big rooms, a fireplace, outdoor court yards, and a bar/restaurant. Central location rounds out a wonderful experience.
Hotel staff were friendly and knowledgeable, parking was convenient, especially considering the hotel's location in the heart of Santa Fe. Plenty of vendors and galleries within walking distance.
Great location, good staff. A bit old, bathroom "extremely small". Lighting at sink and in bathroom, very "dim". Walk to plaza and events in3-5 minutes. Lounge good, entertainment, when we were there, was "without talent" (June 2014). Underground private parking, very nice....
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Quaint hotel, beautiful courtyard and a great location. Just off the Plaza. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was nice. The king size bed was comfortable, not too hard or too soft. Couch wasn't very comfortable but we didn't spend much time sitting on it so it wasn't that big of a deal. Nice bar. Wish they offered breakfast, even basic continental breakfast would be nice. Would definitely stay here again!
Just a block from the Plaza this hotel is perfect for travelers that don't have a car. If you do, it will cost you 16.00 a night to park in the underground garage. We found the staff very friendly and the room was clean with a comfortable bed.
A very cute and not overpriced hotel just off the plaza in Santa Fe. Funkiest thing are all the crosses about the room: on the wall, framed photos... No coffee at the bar; otherwise, once little bar with a jazz duo, No restaurant at the hotel, but that isn't missed, as there are so many around the plaza and surrounding area. Great breakfast at Tia Sofia. Evangelino's bar nearby. The Shed for fish tacos.... A very enjoyable hotel. Free wi-fi
We enjoyed our stay. No complaints except that the parking was an extra $16/day. It was great being easy walking distance from all downtown restaurants and museums. The staff was very nice, the lobby was cozy and charming. The room itself was actually pretty basic. Nothing special about it except for the nice rustic chandelier.
A cozy place w/ easy access to historic places and the plaza Short walk for shopping
We had a great stay here. Reserved a King Suite at a great price which gave us 2 separate rooms. The rooms are slightly dated with smaller bathrooms and layout, but a great value and cool courtyard.
Staff was nice and polite. Lobby is cozy and they had a fire to take the chill off. The furniture was traditional but not very comfortable. The sheets and pillows were heavenly with a fluffy down duvet. I would caution that stairs to upper levels are narrow and their is no elevator. Good rooms for the money.
We enjoyed our stay at the Chimayo, and would stay there again. The positives are the location, which couldn't be better - located just a half bock off the main Plaza, the price - very fair, the décor and ambiance are fun, and cleaning staff does a very thorough job. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I reserved a room with two double beds, and in spite of calling to confirm our reservation two days before our arrival, we ended up with one king-sized bed, which resulted in a less-than-restful sleep during the three nights my daughter and I were there. Because the hotel was full, it could not be changed. The hotel did reverse the $16.00/night parking charge for our inconvenience. Internet service is also very unreliable.
nice hotel close to the Plaza, very nice comfortable king size bed, got upgraded to a suite, front desk clerk was very friendly and gave us good dinner suggestions. overall a very deal for value comfort and location.
