The rooms were clean, although the rooms and overall building were also dated and showing signs of wear. There was also a daily (hidden) 'amenity fee' they claim all hotels in the downtown area charge guests, so be prepared for an extra charge of >$35/night to appear on your credit card.

The staff was excellent, as is the location. However, while quaint and convenient, the place is generally in a state of disrepair and it’s tough to justify the price we paid relative to other top tier hotels near the plaza. The room’s ventilation (HVAC) system was filthy (you could see dust caked up on the filter), to the point that we both struggled to allergies while in our room. The furniture showed very real signs of wear and the toilet broke on our third day. Overall, we did enjoy our stay but, tough to get past ignoring basic cleanliness and maintenance.

The hotel was nice, but the stairs going up to our room were steep and long. The bathroom was the size of a bathroom stall. I wish those two things were different, but overall, it's nice.

The staff and location is amazing! It is an older hotel so u need to give it grace - it is not a brand new build. It has charm and quirks that go along with being a historic hotel. Hawt pizza was great and had the World Series on. The rincon restaurant was always full of customers - wish we had longer in town to try their food.

Our room was clean, appropriately decorated for the spiritual nature of Santa Fe. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is an excellent bar with great pizza for a casual meal and an exceptional restaurant for dinner in the adjoining building. The central location made walking to many of the fabulous churches in downtown Santa Fe easy. The Plaza and the Palace of the GovernorsCentrally located. We arrived, parked our car in the below grade lot for the hotel, and enjoyed three days walking to many special attractions in downtown Santa Fe. We didn’t use our car again until we left Santa Fe.

The only issue we had was they have fire places in some of the rooms and they smoke smell was very heavy in our room we had to leave the windows open overnight and they provided us with fans. The hotel did move us to a room away from the fireplace rooms the next day. However smoke from one room should not be wafting into another room and we didn't even use our fireplace.
