Not bad, but.....

I liked the hotel in general. The location is great. The staff were good and friendly. The room I stayed in was good with a couple of exception that were a big deal. The biggest issue was that the refridgerator was plugged in to the light switch. This isn't normal and as a person who tries to be contious of power useage, I shut off the light switch not knowing what it controlled. The issue is that upon arrival I opened a cooled refridgerator. Once I knew the refridgerator was working my wife and I purchased while out several nice/expensive pastries and other food which upon departure found to be warm and ruined since the refridgerator was not on. This was a little costly and very frustrating. The other issue was the bed frame that sounded like a gong when you got on and off one side of the bed. I guess the frame was made of some sort of thin metal. I'm not sure. I would consider staying there again but I would make sure that upfront these two issues were addressed.

The room was fine. No fridge and the smoke detector were missing though. The TV remote was buried in the chair and we didn't find it until we were about to leave. The bad was when we woke up there were thousands of ants in the room that we had to kill. There are a lot of holes in the walls from cutout drywall or prior repairs that were never patched and that's where the ants were coming in from. Wouldn't recommend based on that.

Do not stay here if you want a good nights sleep. You can hear every guest coming and going all night long. There is absolutely no sound proofing. You will hear people talking up and down the stairs, all conversations, car doors slamming. The furniture in the rooms was mismatched and had weird paint stains. The room was sterile feeling as there was not one picture on the white walls. The lobby area was cute but the rooms did not reflect the same decor.

Good value

Gas station right across the street where I got a bottled water the first night (got in late). Overall it was a great hotel for the price, and I felt safe. My only complaint was a strange smell. Not really sure what it was and by the second night, I got used to it.

It looked great online. I wanted to like it. But the room was dark, nothing but a desk chair to sit on. The patio outside our room needed sweeping, and the furniture needs to be wiped down. Many areas around the property are run-down. The pool needs resurfacing, and the edge needs to be replaced. There's a "lounge" area that has potential next to the pool, which needs work. The exterior trim around the property needs replacing and painting, etc. It has great potential to be a lovely, cool place to stay, but it needs work. The photos are misleading. I will say the staff was very nice and responsive, which makes me sad to leave this review, they were great!

Spacious room and comfy bed.

Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Room was very nice and bed was super comfortable. Not a ton near by, but there are a couple convenient stores and a restaurant very close. I stayed here for a concert at the bowl and wasn’t a bad walk, not short but not long either, took 45 minutes at an easy pace. Will probably stay here next time I go to the bowl.

The floors were pretty dirty and it was pretty basic amenities for the price. The safe didn’t seem to work for example. And the headboard looked scratched or dirty. Seemed overpriced but it had most everything you needed. I guess it’s an expensive area so there must be a premium on that. We enjoyed the pool and the big room and back patio. We also found it conveniently located next to a sandwich spot and a bike rental to get to the main drag for shopping and to visit the boardwalk.
