Clean and quiet Hotel near downtown. Staff is friendly and helpful. Restaurant downstairs is quite good and prizes are cheap. Easy to walk downhill to city center but coming back is good excersise and you just might drop a few sweat drops on the way:)
My first trip to Spain, company arranged for hotel. Location is not close enough to downtown to walk but I was there on business and that was not an issue. Rooms were basic but comfortable. Spain is different, no wash clothes was inconvenient but I was able to use a hand towel which made showering awkward. There is not much around the hotel so you will have to taxi to eat. Breakfast is extra but it was very good. The Cafe is convenient and reasonable prices. Only complaint is no coffee maker in rooms and you can't get coffee until 0730 when the Cafe opens.
The hotel was nice and room comfortable, with a double bed. A.C, T.V, but no fridge or iron and board. Laundry service available ( $ ), electronic safe in room ( large enough for small laptop ), bathroom supplies. Free wifi. Restaurant and bar on site. Evening meal was good, 3 course meal with a glass of wine for 15€60. Buffet breakfast was good with hot and cold choices. Room service available. Fitness centre, Convention centre and free parking.
Good hotel - yes; typical good quality business hotel. Lost in the labrynth of San Sabastian streets - yes. Even with GPS, Google maps and the booking.com maps this place still took an hour to find; one way systems and no street name signs make San Sebastian a nightmare in general. Elegant and wealthy - yes; a pleasure to visit - no!
We got a good deal with the suite on top of the hotel, which was very nice and we had direct access to the sundeck. The bed was confortable and the room was very clean. The distance to the city which many people mention was not a problem for us. You can walk (around 25 min) and the second part of the walk is at the beach which was very nice. If you don't wanna walk there is also a bus very close to the hotel, or you can take a taxi. All in all it was totally worth it to take this hotel which was by far cheaper than the ones in the city and if offered a good quality.
Stayed here for one night during June (air-conditioning was working) in a room on the third floor. Room door opened out into a corridor with the bathroom being on the left as you walked into the bedroom, which was on the small side but adequate. There was a double bed (on the firm side) with long pillows (also on the firm side). There were bedside tables and good lighting on either side of the bed as well as a desk with a chair and a large wardrobe. The floor was timber. There was a small safe in the wardrobe (nothing more than an IPad mini would fit) but it was not bolted down! Wifi was free and worked very well. The bathroom was quite large with a very big shower (no bath) with both a rainwater and hand held nozzle. Shower pressure was very good. There was a continental or full buffet breakfast available but we did not have any rather walking the 3 klms (about20 minutes) into the old city. We caught a taxi back up the hill which cost less than Euro8. Staff on reception upon arrival I think was a trainee who, whilst being very pleasant, took a considerable time to check us in. Quicker process on leaving. Free car parking is available just off the road in the front of the hotel.
We stayed in this hotel for two nights in mid May. Our west facing room was extremely hot. When we enquired about air-conditioning we were told that it was not turned on until June! What sort of hick joint is this! This hotel is remote from any facilities and a steep 3 km walk or 10 euro taxis ride from anywhere you want to be.
Sadly too far from the town. A good room with balcony facing west, which was extremely hot. Staff advised us that the air con is not available until June, and to open the doors! Only Spanish TV available. Sorry not good enough.
this hotel is a very nice hotel with comfortable lobby and clean rooms. the breakfast is also very good and tasty. we liked the place outside the hotel with small tables and chairs where we could smoke and drink comfortably since the weather was so nice. the only thibg is that the hotel is not centrally located, it is in the Aiete hill and needs taxi ( around 10 euros) to visit the city center. however the air is so fresh there and the staff at the hotel is friendly and willing to help you.
Would happily recommend this hotel. Staff very friendly and rooms, although aging, were clean and tidy. Very little street noise. Breakfast selection not as good as other hotels, but adequate. Required a taxi trip from the old quarter and these trips varied depending on the route taken.
