Clean, new (I think) hotel with good choice for breakfast. This was our second time in a Fairfield. Liked the décor which was very similar to the one we stayed at previously. Located at the end of a quiet street. Hubby loves the self serve hot beverage bar with the usual complimentary choice of hot drinks and filtered water in the hotel lobby. Great touch with the complimentary cookie at check in.
We made an unexpected trip to Santa Maria for a family emergency and needed a place to stay the same day. The staff at this hotel was exceptionally accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The property is very clean and comfortable, as well as reasonably priced. Free parking, free wifi, refrigerator in the room, and breakfast included. There is no entrance directly from Broadway but two quick turns off of the main street (Roemer Way then Roemer Court), get you to the entrance. Would definitely return!
Oh my... where to start? Poor signage to tell you how to get to the front of the hotel, the smallest room I have ever stayed in at any property, let alone a Marriott, a ridiculous set-up for the bathroom and the TV and the WORST presentation of a breakfast entrée I have ever seen. The breakfast meat was a "Canadian bacon" which the breakfast attendant told me was 1) a corporate mandate and 2) very unappetizing looking as it was brown and clumped together and looked at least a week old. The other meat choice was a vegetable "sausage" patty. Otherwise, the rest was the pretty ho-hum breakfast choices with nothing really to note. Let me warn you about the rooms at this property... don't let them put you in ANY room that ends with ".18" as it is the tiniest room I have ever seen behind the elevator shaft. It should be those rooms that the front desk says "we are all sold out but one room" and you get that one. We had a reservation. It has a king bed which left about 30" on each side of the bed. The TV sat on the vanity top and was below eye level when lying on the bed and the drapes couldn't be closed completely letting in both parking lot light and the sunrise the next morning. And the mattress was about as uncomfortable as any I have slept (rather, not slept on). And don't let me start on the ridiculously large bathroom... I know now where the square footage from the sleeping area was used. I brought all this up to the manager, Holly, and she gave me a discount and the usual platitudes. But we have had a better stay at the Best Western Plus and there are more properties around locally. I doubt the issues will be resolved but now you know. I do try to find a positive and Holly was very pleasant as was the check-in staff. Good luck! It wasn't up to Marriott standards!
I stayed at this hotel on March 1st for business. The check in was very swift and convenient I noted right off the bat. I was given room 109 which has two double beds and a small refrigerator. I logged in to the WIFI and i noticed that they have different WIFI systems set up, one for free for basic internet usage, and the other one for like $5 for 24 hours for more robust and faster for things like skype. I choose the free WIFI and it was more than fast enough for what I was using it for. The hotel is right on one of the main roads of Santa Maria but I hardly noticed the noise at all in the room. They have a nice pool, and a nice little fitness room. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I will be back in the future.
On an extremely stormy night, I arrived at Fairfield Inn and suites, Santa Maria just glad to have made it there with all the flash flood problems in the area. I was greeted by an amazing front desk associate, Elisa. She made sure that I received a warm greeting and she was able to tell me all about the area and recommended an awesome barbecue joint where I got some delicious tri-tip---while she was multitasking phone calls and guest requests without losing composure or her genuine friendly smile. Then she was back there at 7 AM when I went for breakfast. This associate deserves praise and a raise! My room was simple but very clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was pretty good! I never expect much from the continental buffet but I did enjoy The coffee, and omelette and some fruit. I highly recommend it!
My room was huge and the location was convenient for a morning meeting in Santa Maria. This is obviously not a higher-end Marriot property, but it is clean, quiet, and perfectly adequate for my needs. Because we are Marriot rewards members, I was given extra high-speed Wi-Fi and a 4:00 PM check out, which allowed me to work from my room after my meeting. The hotel's breakfast was included with the room, and it included eggs, bacon, waffles, toast, hot/cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. The coffee was weak, but there is always a Starbucks nearby. The staff was excellent! The parking was free.
The Fairfield is one of Marriott's "budget" properties, and this hotel follows the typical Fairfield formula in terms of rooms, amenities and breakfast. That said, this particular property is one of the really, really good ones. The hotel is freshly renovated and very clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and efficient. While there is no on premises dining, hotel reception has a great list of local restaurants--and the staff's recommendations always have been spot on. (As well, be certain to check the local brochures and grab the one about Santa Maria BBQ--complete with recipes!) We have stayed at the Santa Maria Fairfield on multiple occasions and have always had a pleasant experience. Most recently, my husband left an electronic device behind when we checked out. We were contacted by the hotel within hours (before he even knew he lost it), and it was promptly shipped to us. These days, such honesty by housekeeping seems to be rare.
We trust Marriott and they have not let us down. We love having a microwave and refrigerator in our room along with a desk and sitting area separate from the bedroom area. The complementary breakfast was the only thing that was average about our stay. The rest was very nice.
Fantastic hotel, spacious and luxurious - with very friendly welcoming staff. Sadly only spent one night here. Spacious and clean room - breakfast service with wide and extensive range. Ideal spot close to multiple shopping centres
Awesome, clean and well kept hotel. It must be fairly new too. The hotel staff are really efficient and helpful. Breakfast options was great considering the class of the hotel. Ample parking and access to lot of shops and restaurants nearby.
