Mold mold mold

Check in was very straightforward & easy, they asked which floor i preffered & they accommodated that. In regards to the first room I was assigned to, literally as soon as I opened the door I instantly smelled a very strong odor of mold. I made my way to the restroom to open the window to vent out the room but the smell was way too strong & immediately I felt sick to my stomach. I looked up at the ceiling & there was a huge patch of black mold directly above the shower stall. I made my way back to the front desk to alert them of their issue & request a different room. They assigned me a different room & I insisted that they really get the mold issue looked at. The second room I was assigned to also had a weird odor just not as strong as the first room. It was harder for me to tell in this room if there was mold on the ceiling as this particular room had popcorn ceiling, I can see black speckles within it but couldn't verify mold presence. Also the tub faucet had a huge leak too as the overhead shower head was turned on. House keeping was very good, I appreciated their service.

The staff was courteous and helpful despite being a bit overwhelmed at the moment. Property in general was fine. The room was functional but had a terrible pervasive dampness with the intense smell of mildew. We turned off the A/C and tried to air out the room, but found the smell was even deep into the bedding.

Beds were very comfortable and room was a good size, not crowded. Loved the Diner. Great food and loved that we received $5.00 coupons each towards restaurant. Just complained to staff as we were checking out that WiFi didn’t work. She mentioned what kind of cel phone and I said Apple and said oh lots of people complain and they had Apple phones. Didn’t seem helpful at all. I asked if we could use pool and we eat breakfast- it was 10am. She said checkout is 11 and we can’t use pool due to insurance policy. I just felt a vibe that she didn’t like us or she just wasn’t helpful. She checked us in and checked us out. Other staff member in evening was super friendly and helpful.

The property is conveniently located if you’re going to the midstate fair (pro tip: it sucks), and the place is taken care of well enough. As I was checking in, I received a text message that the property has had its water shut off, the forms at the desk and the check-in information they wanted was too intrusive, and they gave me weird bracelets for the kids to wear in order not to get kicked out of the pool (you only get one per kid so don’t lose, but don’t worry - it only tightens, never loosens. Make a game of who can wear it the longest👹). The room had a weird odor like -old mildew threw up on an alley cat- smell, but seemed very clean. I can’t recommend staying here, but because it has a very nice location, this negative review likely won’t reduce its business. p.s. when you check in, get a stealthy fist full at the front desk of some of the tastiest dollar store candy you can imagine. You’re welcome.
