We stayed 4 nights, and really enjoyed it. The air conditioner stopped working in our room, and they switched us to another room in minutes. Everyone was very nice, and everything was very clean. The first room had a glade plug in that I unplugged, and both rooms were purfumey. One bed was very firm, the next very soft. The exhaust and noise from the highway was only noticeable in the restaurant and pool area Monday morning during rush hour. The plane noise was loud, but not constant. We were very happy with our stay. They were renovating one section of the hotel when we were there, but we were still able to enjoy the cabanas in that area.

Flight got in late, past midnight, and this place fit the bill, it's very close to the airport. Nice, very clean rooms and common areas; friendly staff; good made-to-order breakfasts of egg/bacon/toast or a local breakfast or 2 big pancakes, plus fresh fruit and juice, in a nice area off of the pool. Did get waken up around 7 or 730am by a couple planes overhead, but that's kind of expected unless the rooms are soundproofed. Also helpful is that they'll hold luggage for a nominal fee per day per bag. Would definitely stay again.

Served our purposes well as it was near the airport, free shuttle, breakfast included and nice pool area to hang out at. It’s within walking distance to a casino and restaurants. May be a little difficult to access by car as it’s directly on the freeway with no real place to get out of traffic while you wait for the gait to be opened.

All in all, this little hotel is not too bad. It’s a great location when flying out of San Jose. They offer free shuttle to and from the airport. A small restaurant/bar in the back and a pool with what appears to be cabana rooms. The first night was a bit of a run around. Our reservation was transferred to a different hotel and due to language barriers we were a little concerned. The hotel we were sent to actually ended up being a much better suite so no real complaints. Our second night back was good. Again, very unorganized front desk. Bed was comfortable and food in the restaurant was ok. No real airport noise. Looks much better than the ads show! Will probably utilize this hotel on a journey back to CR.

The hotel is very close to the airport - great for late arrivals or early departures. Traditional breakfast available in an open courtyard restaurant. Rooms are simple and clean. There is some overhead noise because the hotel is situated on a flight path, although that didn't prevent us from getting a good sleep.

Pros: -- Close to airport, maybe 3-5 minute drive. -- Clean -- Good value price -- Breakfast area with pool and mango tree is beautiful and a nice way to start the day Cons: -- Super hard beds -- Near airport and major road (we were woken several times by planes / loud trucks passing) -- Door lock is similar to a bathroom-style lock - no deadbolt -- Very little water pressure in shower, water wasn't very hot -- Hotel did not respond AT ALL to two separate emails with questions. Overall, Hotel Mango will do for the night you arrive or just before you depart, but I definitely wouldn't choose it as a base for more than a one-night stay. I think it's pretty unacceptable that I received ZERO reply to emails with questions about my booking. I would've rated them three stars except for this glaring customer service problem.

Due to flight times, we needed an airport-adjacent, reasonably-priced hotel for our last night in Costa Rica, following a week-long stay on the coast, we were at the ‘looking forward to getting home’ stage of the vacation so we were not looking for anything other than airport-close/comfortable/not expensive. This stay was a mixed bag. It was indeed close to SJO, with airport transport to/from included, and was reasonably-priced. But… The over-flight noise was enough to rattle your teeth (eg., had to stop talking while the planes went overhead). There were signs of deferred maintenance (eg., loose-hanging towel hook in the bathroom). The bathroom was cramped and the bed uncomfortable. Other than the very large mango tree overhanging a small-but-pretty pool, the grounds have nothing of note. If you are allergic to dogs, be aware, there is a small pooch that wanders about, including into the small open-air restaurant looking for a little something from diners. The dog is not pushy, and in fact – other than when offered a treat – takes a little encouragement to come by for a visit. (The backstory was touching, a rescue from the streets given a home.) Some might be put off by the dog, but for those of us who were missing our own doggie back home, it was nice to get in a little petting time. About the restaurant, due to our departure time (4AM!), we could not take advantage of the (included) breakfast. It might be just as well. The bar/dinner service opens at 6PM. We had dinner there as the area is not conducive to walking anywhere. Nice presentation, but not a good food experience. I don’t know if they were having staff issues but something was wrong. Of the four of us, our entrees all came at very different times. One of us got a pizza. It looked like something from the frozen-food section at the market. Another got a calzone. It was gigantic, but the crust was thick and under-cooked. I got the chicken/white sauce lasagna. It was weird, just a shaped block of finely shredded chicken meat covered in white sauce. That was it. No lasagna noodles. No cheese. I wanted to call up a picture of lasagna on my phone and show it to the chef. To add insult to injury, my entree came out first. By the time my friends urged me to not wait any longer, but to go ahead and eat, it was getting cold. To be fair, another got the tomato/basil salad and was pleased with that. Fair warning: the free mango cocktail offered at the restaurant is very thick/sweet, but if you cut it with tonic water, it is quite refreshing.

Pros: - $100 per night (cheaper than other options around) - Rooms: Clean, spacious, comfortable beds, TV, fresh paint on walls, AC, large window facing pool (Stayed in room #1) - Outdoor Area: Lovely little courtyard area with pool, sun beds, hanging chairs, shaded coves/seating areas, grass. - Indoor: Cosy lobby, nice property - 5 mins taxi to/from airport (off meter CRC2000 (on meter around CRC1000) - 20-30 mins to downtown San Jose: i) Get a taxi to airport bus stop ii) Get on Airport-San Jose Bus, Pay CRC565 pp iii) Get off at main bus terminal downtown, close to the cathedral iv) Reverse the process for returning to hotel. - Good wifi - Great little airport hotel Cons: - Its close to airport so you will hear planes taking off. Pro if you're a plane spotter, con if you aren't - Its a bit of a trek to downtown All in all, I will stay here again

on our last night of staying in CR, we stayed at the hotel. it was very clean with large rooms. The staff was courteous and professional. the restaurant was great as well as the waiter. he was very attentive to our needs and he stayed on top of it all. The pool was beautifully kept. I would highly recommend when flying out or just getting in.

My wife and I recently stayed at Hotel Mango. It was quite nice, the rooms were clean and good size, and its a great location very close to the airport. One younger lady (receptionist) was quite friendly and helpful. It's close walking distance to a Denny's and a couple of restaurants. They had a very nice pool, which we did not use because we were a bit tired from driving and needed it get to bed early. They provided us with transportation at 5am, which was perfect. A couple things we did not like, at night you could hear some of the planes landing, (although it wasn't too loud and we were able to get a good night's sleep) and entering the property is a bit tough if your coming from the west, because you have to make a bit of hard left across several lanes of traffic. Plus there is a gate which you have to wait to let you in. Overall great place and reasonable price, we would definitely stay there again in the future.
