I really loved it! The sensation of small town was amazing. Their chalets very comfortable. The fresh air and wind in the middle of the big trees was wonderful. and the food! the food was the best, I had my own crepe prepared in front of my table.
Wanted a place to stay and relax after the long flight and before embarking on the rest of our trip. Couldn't of made a better choice. Away from the hustle and bustle of San Jose was our delightful wooden chalet, in peaceful wooded countryside. Friendly, helpful staff with a plentiful and tasty breakfast, served within the hotels own restaurant and bar. Regret we couldn't stay longer to explore the countryside.
We drove up to this quaint hideaway on a Sunday & were pleasantly surprised how nice it was, sunny and cooler at 6000'. We just went for the day & had lunch there which was good & prices are a little high. The staff were all quite pleasant & smiling. It's not a huge area but big enough for a leisurely walk & to breathe fresh clean air. The chalets are like a 2 story hotel room w/each being separate rentals. They are very close together & parking is no problem. We also took the road that goes up to the volcano & would not do that again. The roads were paved but very, very narrow. We didn't go all the way up to the volcano because we were not comfortable w/the road. I don't think the park there is open anyway.
This place is very quaint, quiet, and beautiful. It's small and rather isolated, but that is good. It hosts weddings and other private events. The grounds are beautiful, staff is very accommodating and bi-lingual, the restaurant is very good, everything was great. We went for a wedding and stayed a week. They helped set up tours and provided box breakfasts when we had early departures. We highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed there on our first night in Costa Rica upon arrival . We drove there from the airport. It appeared it is located in Avery nice neighborhood. The front desk , breakfast crew and every one were great . The Room is nice and comfortable , clean, beautiful grounds and well worth the money.
We were pleasantly surprised to find such a elegant place in the woods. It felt like being in a small town in old European city. The Hydrangeas were in full bloom everywhere along with so many beautiful flowers. The restaurant served excellent food also. The room had fireplace even though it wasn't cold enough to use. We would go back next time when we visit Costa Rica.
Love the food french cuisine consistantly good and great service the area is Just like a fairy tale the salmon is great, pasta, crepe suzzette and the NY cheesecake is fabulous! Great for dinner or lunch. The fireplace is great and they also rent the place for small parties
We stayed at this property during a Missions trip to Costa Rica. All I can say is that we were spoiled here. It is a beautiful location buried up in the hills. It is a Bavarian looking property with beautiful grounds. Garden views everywhere. There are individual chalets and a main building with attached rooms. Most all rooms have either wood burning or gas fireplaces and are roomy (in both parts of the property). Great staff and restaurant on site. We had breakfast prepared for us daily (traditional rice/beans mixture, eggs and fruit) which were good. We didn't see any wildlife nearby but I guess monkeys come around sometimes. We could hear Howler Monkeys some nights. I would recommend a stay here, you would not be disappointed.
Aaaaaw the german rustic style from this hotel takes you to another experience level. You can choose between little chalets or rooms in the hotel. My recommendation is to choose a chalet, are the cutest! P.S: Just because we are in Costa Rica doesn't mean that is hot everywhere, so bring a sweater because is pretty cold at night.
We loved staying here. Wonderful customer service. The suite was superb. We loved the fire place. The restaurant is simply out of this world. The whole place is beautiful. We felt like being in the French Alps. Highly recommended!!
