Holiday Inn Express San Jose-Central City

The hotel was clean and better than I had anticipated for the price. But it would've been nice to know that they were building a new hotel in their parking lot. Construction started at about 7:30am on Saturday. Also, had someone try to come through the door that connects two rooms at 11:30 at night, which woke us up and scared the crap out of us. The staff was super nice and breakfast was like any other hotel breakfast. We did enjoy the hot tub as well.

Motel is average for a holiday in express. There was construction going on building a new wing, but noise wasn't a problem.

Very nice and clean. Everyone was friendly and the facilities were in good shape. There is a small but functional workout room. Note: the hotel is right in the flight pass for the San José airport. But the air traffic slows down to almost none at night. So it’s not too loud.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was clean and had everything i needed. The office staff we're very nice and treated me with respect. I would devinately stay there again.

There was an issue that prevented me from being able to make the trip. I understand that hotels have their policies, but getting the runaround from the customer service when trying to speak with whoever may have been able to help with an alternative was not worth it. Very disappointing experience. It is the first and last time that I even consider this or any other Holiday Inn for that matter.

I'm sort of confused by the glowing reviews of this hotel. It's not a terrible place to stay, but it is a terrible value. The price is unbelievable for the mediocrity. Is this just something we have to accept about San Jose, that hotels are going to be twice as expensive as they're worth? I will concede the positives: the staff is super friendly and helpful, it has all the necessary amenities, and it's clean. It's fine. Negatives: 1) Your room door opens to the outside (does this not make it a motel? If nothing else, it gives it that distinct motel feeling), and you're right on a busy street, so you hear everything. You hear people outside your door, people outside nearish your door, every car that passes, the construction across the street in the morning, etc. 2) Breakfast is meh. I know it's continental, which is already on the meh end of the breakfast spectrum, but this is especially medium. 3) Super expensive. TLDR: It's fine. And you'll pay out the wazoo for fine.

Small. Old hotel. But great staff. Breakfast was ok, not too many options.

Expensive hotel for location. Have not stayed at a hotel with exterior doors in a long time.

Easy to find. Close to shopping and lots of eateries. Down the street from Comedy Club and a few sports bars.

good location to find restaurants in the city, room has sofas and desk, spacious and clean. like the new towels. initially worried airplane noises but it turned out OK, mattress is firm, very satisfied.

We went in for a family wedding. This was the first time ever staying at a Holiday Inn express and we were extremely satisfied all though I am not really picky the rooms were very clean the beds and pillows were very comfortable. I was very impressed with the free breakfast I was thinking it was going to be continental style but to my surprise it was actually breakfast I mean they had eggs, sausage, pancakes, biscuit’s, cereal, beagles, pastries, yogurt, coffee, juices, etc. etc. and it was actually tasty. I totally recommend this Hotel.

The hotel was comfortable and in a convenient location.

Want a clean comfortable room at a reasonable rate! You got it. Has everything they say!

I enjoyed my short stay there. The hotel is clean, good wifi, good complimentary breakfast, nice staff.

We stayed here on our way to Yosemite National Park.

Stood here for one night and woke up almost every hour due to uncomfortable bed and pillows along with all the noise from the other hotel guests. Would not stay here again

Stayed here for a week with my husband. Even though it was great location (close to his parents), the bed was unbearably uncomfortable making the one week holiday stay not so restful. My husband frequently complained about the small pillows. We're not ones to request room service often, and they were quite adamant about getting into our room to clean. One day, I told the cleaning service that I didn't want service three times and to top it off... after the last "no" the manager called to confirm. It was quite annoying. Other than that, it was an average stay and I will not stay there again only because it felt old to me (the furniture) and its entry is via exterior door which makes it louder and to me more unsafe.

We stayed at Holiday Inn and just loved it! Clean and neat!
