Below you will find details about our 2 bed/ 2 bath home, Inga's Quiet Sail Bay Home, in Pacific Beach.
This contemporary townhouse has a wonderful ambience and layout! It is bright and feels very spacious with its high ceilings, skylights and clerestory windows, modern decor, and open floor plan. The unit was recently upgraded with hardwood floors, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances and central A/C, a rarity in coastal San Diego! It is tastefully decorated and contains many luxury features, including a fully equipped kitchen with a large assortment of quality kitchenware so you can cook and bake just as you do at home. Family members and friends can use the breakfast bar while you prepare meals, or you can enjoy a sit down meal at the dining table which seats 6. At the end of the day you can relax and enjoy sitting down in front of the cozy fireplace and listen to your own tunes using the bluetooth stereo connection, or to watch a movie or your favorite TV show from the premium movie channel selection. Netflix or other streaming channels are also available if you have an account.
The master bedroom has a king bed with a memory foam mattress, an HD 37" flat screen TV, and a full en-suite bathroom. The upstairs bedroom features a twin bed over a full size bunk bed with memory foam mattresses to accommodate a variety of sleeping arrangements. There is also sufficient space to use the toddler cot, or rentable pack n play as desired. The upstairs bedroom has an HD 32" flat-screen TV and DVD combination player, so the kids can watch a movie upstairs while you have cocktails or quiet time in the living room. Both bathrooms have granite countertop sinks, travertine tiles in the bath/shower, and extra large shower heads.
And last but not least, the owners made this house very family-friendly. They have traveled a lot with their children since they were babies and understand the little things that make a vacation home work well, especially if you need to fly and have limited luggage space! The house is equipped with many child-friendly features to make your stay as comfortable as possible, such as a variety of toys, games, children's books, coloring materials, night lights, plastic plates/cups/bowls, a step stool, balls, beach toys, humidifier, and toddler sleeping cot. A high chair, jogging stroller and/or pack n play crib can be provided at an additional rental cost.
This vacation home is situated on the quieter East side of beautiful Sail Bay (the loveliest part of Mission Bay)! Yet, you are only 12 minutes from San Diego's bustling downtown historic Gaslamp area with its fine dining, 1.5 miles from SeaWorld, and within 15 minutes from the lovely Balboa Park with the famous San Diego Zoo. So, you can have it all!
Across the street on the boardwalk you will find people riding bikes, skating, jogging, and just strolling at leisure. Take a stroll or ride our 2 provided beach cruiser bikes around the bay and if you like, cross over to Mission Beach with its wide boardwalk to watch the surfers or catch a glimpse of the green flash at sunset.
Vacation rentals in San Diego are for the most part, second homes for the owners. Therefore, some furniture or decor may differ from what is pictured because the owners needed or wanted to replace something. Professional photos are expensive and we can not re-photograph the rental every time something is changed but we do maintain the listing content with any notable furnishing changes especially related to sleeping arrangements. Summer 2024 Policy: Beginning Memorial Day to Labor Day, Saturday to Saturday is required with 6-7 night reservations. On July 4th 2024, check-in or check-out is NOT permitted. An arrival on a Friday or Sunday may be possible, please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you.
Last Minute Booking Policy: If a guest books with us directly or on any OTA such as Airbnb and VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy.
To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest's face and holding either a Driver's License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as, payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc.
This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions.
Nightly Minimum Policy: 4 night minimum required in the off season. 6 nights AND a Saturday Check-in is REQUIRED during peak season (June - August). Arrival on Friday or Sunday instead may be an option. (Please inquire if your group needs accommodations that are different as we may be able to accommodate you!)

Great location, loved the bikes
We really enjoyed the beautiful townhome. It was warm and inviting, beautifully decorated but not so much so that you were worried about kids breaking things. The location was lovely. My daughters favorite part of the trip was getting to ride bicycles on the boardwalk/walkway.

The condo was very clean, well organized, and I really appreciate all the extras: cruiser bikes available, beach towels, umbrella, beach chairs, body boards. Even a baby jogger if you needed it. Property mgmt company was very responsive and supportive. Great setup.

The good, bad and UGLY
First, I want to say that my husband, myself and our twin 14 yr olds, visited San Diego during our spring break. We are hard working people and feel like we are pretty easy going and understanding. When we arrived to check-in to the property it was at night so was dark out. You have to park and enter via the alley behind the property and the only light was a small motion light on the back of the garage. It was quite sketchy. The gate that was supposed to be locked was not and there was no outdoor light on at the building door. As soon as we opened the door the smell of mildew was overwhelming (owners need to just rip out the remaining carpet). We were exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. My husband’s pillowcase had dark stains, which looked like blood. Our bedside tables were cheap particle board and literally falling apart. The master bathroom was disgusting. Shower curtain had mold on it, there was hair in the cabinet drawers, baseboards had a layer of filth, the dishwasher had literal sludge caked inside, the kitchen rug had food and gum ground into it, the washing machine had more filth caked on the inside. The living room couch and chairs were just dirty. I’m talking so worn and tired they weren’t suitable for Goodwill. I was literally shocked at the condition this home was in. I contacted management right away and they were very responsive. They replaced the shower curtain & pillows. Location was nice. No views in this unit. Buyer definitely beware!

I’m a bit torn, I hardly ever give anything but strong ratings…. I this case it’s mixed. The check in process was not great (you do down an alley, to the “mid point”… building is not marked… and the code to the garage didnt work. They had a bad tenant right before us and the apartment smelled and the master carpet was wet. On the +: cleaning crew was great and very polite. Not the MGMT companies fault that they had a bad tenant, but we were inconvenienced, and were never offered anything in the way of a make-good for our troubles. Not great form. So, while the unit was fine, it was top-dollar and a pretty mixed experience.

We enjoyed staying at the townhome. The beds are very comfortable, it was clean, there are tons of supplies to make the stay feel like home and the location is excellent. Easy access to the bay and Mission Beach. The management agency has tremendous communication. They sent a repair person over to fix a stuck shower mixer and he was extra helpful, providing us with tourist information. The carpets and some of the furnishings are a bit worn and the unit needs to be painted. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

Great home base
Family vacation with our kinder. Location was a great base to visit all the San Diego activities. Three minute walk to the beach and a great coffee shop around the corner. If you have littles check out Maruta Gardner playground….we spend 2+ hours each trip there. Food is also great on mission beach and an easy drive / bike ride.

Enjoyed the location and space in San Diego
We are a family of three and enjoyed the room we had with this two bedroom rental. It had most of the essentials and was conveniently located near mission bay. We particularly liked this location because it was quiet in comparison to mission beach and other rentals near there. The only thing that could use maintenance are the bikes which need some tuning and tightening so that they are safe to ride. The handlebars came loose while riding so suggest checking it all before doing so. We will definitely consider staying here again.

Recent stay at Inga`s Quiet Sail Bay Townhome
Overall, the property was pretty good. However, the furniture in the living area was very dirty, as was the carpet on the stairs when you first enter the unit, and the carpet in the main bedroom needs to be cleaned. If you have a midsize SUV, it likely won't fit in the narrow garage. We liked the unit's location for the things we wanted to do.

Nice location 1.5 blocks off the bay, convenient to the "baywalk." Kitchen is set up well in comparison to other VRBOs I've used. Bedrooms are comfortable. Bathrooms are both ample. Laundry off the kitchen is great - don't overpack, you'll be able to wash your clothes.
