I was sleeping like a baby and they called to my room requesting to drop the cards before leaving. At 9 AM. Check out was at 11:00. Really??? Are this guys that cheap to call the rooms requesting for the cheese cards sponsored by domino's pizza?????? Also the lock of my room was broken.....

I always stay at this property when i am in san clemente. It is conveniently located. Great comfortable beds microwave and fridge and the management have always been helpful over the several years i have stayed here.

Staff is ok, but the rooms are so run down and beds are uncomfortable, shower heads are crusty and very poor water pressure. I have stayed here before and it appears to be getting more and more run down. If you don’t check out at 11 am, they charge $20 an hour afterwards.

Great location and good place for the price-nothing fancy but dandy

The hotel is conveniently located within a short walk to the beach. Still, it is better to take the trolley (a short walk from motel) to the beach next to the pier. everything inside the room was comfortable, even spacious (we had a double queen). Proprietors were kind and friendly. Three minor drawbacks. No elevator to the 4th floor (OK for us as we like the stair). Road noise easily transfers into the room. Lastly, complementary breakfast is food that's probably bought at Costco, like bagels in a plastic bags, danishes in plastic bag and hot cereal in a plastic bag. It is all starch or sugar. No protein or fresh fruit.

It would have been nice to be able to switch from a smoking room to a non-smoking room. It would have made the stay more pleasant. The front desk refused to allow a room change because they said smoking room twice. I misunderstood and thought they were talking about the previous guest who was extremely rude. I had to but febreeze, a candle, and leave the window open to air it out. The smoke smell permeated all of our clothes and luggage. The bathroom shower curtain had mold on it, the toilet seat had cigarette burns, the wall above the shower head had come off exposing sheet rock the size of a grapefruit, the ceiling behind the bathroom door was peeling off in several places, and the bedspread had cigarette burns. I went to the front desk in the morning but no one was there even at 10 am. I was told the hotel needed a credit/ debit card to hold a $200 deposit which was fine. Come to find out the hotel ran 2 transactions on my card totaling the whole bill and didn't release the funds until 2 days later. That was frustrating because I wanted to pay cash for the room.

It was a great hotel for the price. It was in a good location too. I was very satisfied with my stay.

I was in San Clemente for a family event and did not want to spend a lot on my overnight stay. The Roadway Inn was clean and the staff were friendly. It was truly no frills, but comfortable enough for a quick trip to the area.

the room was comfortable with a fridge and a microwave. we walked everywhere and near sooooo many wine bars, restaurants, shops, vintage shops (we love these, we are from NYC), san clemente pier and beach. We also took uber to and from dana point and other areas and it only cost no more than 10$. We loved this little standard hotel and would stay here again due to its proximity to everything. Also the front desk was super nice to us!

Wish location was closer to town and beach. Breakfast weak. No fruit. Just carbs. No yoghurt.

We just needed a place to sleep, nothing special or fancy, and that is exactly what we got. It was quiet and clean. So no complaints.

Hotel room was clean and comfortable, but it's right on the PCH so it can get quite loud. Walls between rooms are very thin, could hear everything upstairs and next door. Was decent but don't think we would stay here again

I was just looking for a room to get away from home for a night. This place is right by a park, has plenty of free parking, a block from a sunny local bar and is a ten minute walk from the beach. Room was clean, breakfast was standard, a perfectly nice place for a casual beach town stay.

We only stayed for one night. The room was simple but clean, the staff was friendly. Only you could hear what was happening around and especially above you. So it was rather sensitive. Other than that it was a good stay.

You get what you pay for here. Nothing was exceptional, yet nothing was terrible either. It's your average cheap hotel. My only real cons are: no hot tub, the continental breakfast is not worth a look and I'm no snob, the coffee machines did not come close to satisfying my need, and I had to go to the office during the mere 3 hours someone was there to get fresh towels and more shampoo. Too far away from the beach to want to walk much. Oh and I was confused as an out of towner because it's listed as a Days Inn on Orbitzs but is actually a Rodewy Inn, so I drove past it twice before I realized this. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are really coming down for the beach or have kids.

We traveled the El Camino Real to see some of the historic missions. This property was a perfect place to take a rest, walk a few blocks down to the seaside for the sunset, watch surfers and the waves roll in. Great beach!
