Unfortunately, we had bugs in the room in multiple occasions and the carpet smelled like urine. It really smelled anytime the ac unit went off. Some staff were great. One was greeting people with sun glasses on inside the office, which seemed strange. The ladies serving food were kind. Our room on the 3rd floor was not updated as shown on your website with the pretty black and white wall paper etc. it was dated. Green patterned carpet. Room was only serviced once in 4 nights/5days. Parking seemed good.

The woman at the front desk appeared out "out of it" as she startled me from behind. As I approached the lobby I heard a woman's voice behind me saying "how's it going?". I was startled due to the sound of her voice and her appearance. She did not look like hotel staff. After going through an awkward 10 minutes checking in we headed to our room. The room appeared rundown and smelly. My wife decided to go to the pool with my son as I tried to relax in the room. As I'm relaxing I get repeated calls from my wife requesting that I come to the pool. After a while I decided to go see what is going on in the pool area. As I made my way to the pool area approaching the gate I noticed what appeared to be a homeless man darting out of the pool and out of the pool area. I was in shock as the homeless man my wife and were the only people at the pool area. The homeless man ran off before I could ask him what he was doing there. I then went to the front desk where the same homeless looking receptionist was and explained what happened. She dismissed it as nothing and then had the nerve to call me a wife beater. I then called the sheriff department. To my astonishment, the deputy did not care at all that random homeless people were using the hotel swimming pool. I was shocked as it is obviously dangerous having random homeless people using the pool where children are playing. There is no excuse for what I experienced and San Clemente as a whole should be ashamed.

I stayed in an old room and it was very old not updated since feels like the 80s. Went to the management and asked for an upgrade to the deluxe rooms which they did for me. Now those rooms are well worth the extra money. Staff were very kind and helpful. They explained they have the old rooms to provide a cheaper alternate which makes since. Can’t hold that against them. Just know the old rooms are a 3 and the deluxe rooms are a 5 in my opinion.

The large shower in the accessible room was very nice. I was not happy that there was no microwave in the room. I need one twice a day. I was also not happy that there was only a single chair in the room. It was a comfortable chair, but sat down very low so it was difficult to rise from. The bed was also extremely soft so there was no place to sit that had a firm surface. When I had guests come into the room one could sit in the chair, but everyone else had to sit on the bed or the floor. Since my family arrived before their rooms were ready, this was a problem. Bed and pillows were far to soft. No support from the pillows. The breakfast provided was adequate.

The room I stayed in was very basic—comparable to a Motel 6. Upon check-in, I noticed hair on the shower walls, which was off-putting. The amenities were minimal, and overall, it served as just a place to sleep. At $100 a night, it was acceptable, but I wouldn’t pay more. On the positive side, the location is excellent. It’s in a safe area and within walking distance of nearly everything in San Clemente. There’s also a convenient trolley you can use to get around. The pool was decent, but the breakfast was disappointing and not worth mentioning.

I loved the room! It was spacious and we LOVED the bathtub with the jets in it. Management was also super friendly. Appreciate that it’s only a 6 min walk to the beach.
