I'm in San Antonio for business... with a hectic 6-to-6 schedule. To come back to the hotel after a long day to a perfectly-made bed, impeccably clean room, FREE FOOD and DRINKS (every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, Residence Inn offers a mixer with snacks, wine, local beer), a gym, swimming pool, hot beverages, and the nicest staff (shout outs to Jemma and Jerry) is priceless. I'm very grateful for all the great amenities... it makes it that much easier to relax and actually enjoy my stay in San Antonio.
Our room was perfect for our new family. They even had the pack-n-play ready for us in the room after we checked in and walked around for a little bit. Even though the hotel was a little crowded (as to be expected during the holidays) the staff was prompt when answering the phones and were able to accommodate our early check in and late check out. The suite that we had came with a wall and door, which is perfect for the additional family member that likes to tag along. Not all hotels come with this additional privacy. When we come back to San Antonio with our family I’ll be happy to check back in. PRO- FREE PARKING AND NO CAR LIMIT! Unlike the hotels off the river. CON- not a lot of dining options near the hotel. However, you’re not far from the river walk so just head out and find something nice there!
I came to San Antonio on vacation and stayed here. The location was incredibly convenient, the rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast was simple but satisfying, the parking was convenient, the wifi worked smoothly...I can go on. This hotel just "works" but many others can as well. What sets this hotel apart, and why I am actually taking the time to write a review, is actually the staff. They are a fantastic group and the service is top notch. Shout out to everyone I had the pleasure of conversing with at the front desk (you guys know who you are!). Anyone who is visiting San Antonio for any reason needs to come to this hotel. Our stay was so pleasant that it actually became one of the most memorable parts of the trip!
I had 2 suites on this stay, a one bedroom for my mom and a 2 bedroom for the kids, wife, and I. The 1 bedroom was so big and roomy my mom swore she had the big room. Our room was huge, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room and full-size kitchen. Hotel is a little older but clean and comfortable. The staff was awesome and always available. We did the hot-tub and non-heated pool in December. I recommend this hotel based on the rooms alone but the breakfast and downtown location are also awesome.
Ok I know it's a bit late to do a review regarding our stay on 11/09. Because I never wrote a review on Tripadvisor before, I mostly do the review on Google map. But the experienced I had during my stay is one of the best one I ever had in my life and I need to let all the TripAdvisor reader know about it too! So what's the best thing about this hotel? The room? Checked! The kitchen in the room? Checked! The breakfast that tastes so good? Checked! Great pool? Great gym? Great tennis court? CheckedCheckedChecked! But what makes this hotel an even more amazing place? During your stay If your receptionist got the name "Jerry Garza" on the nametag, well you're in luck! Why? Ok, he is an overachiever on his job. Yea we can skip the greeting part cause that's all the receptionist should know how to do. He makes sure he does his job way beyond that, he makes sure every customer is receiving the perfect service during the stay, make sure everyone feel like home in the place. Got question about where to go? As a local S.A. resident himself, he gives us a lot of suggestion about the local attractions. I don't know how to describe it but you should go experience the hotel and the service yourself! He will definitely be the best experience during the stay. I wish I can do a 7stras review on the service rating but they only got 5. Yea, that how good he is.. Checkin today! You won't regret!
I stayed here for one week. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Sheets clean, crisp and fresh smelling. 4 good pillows on the queen bed a plus. Bedroom closed off with doors and 2 TV's. I had a full sized fridge, microwave, dishwasher and a full compliment of pots, pans and mixing bowls. They have a Happy Hour early in the week with hot snacks and cold beverages. I particularly enjoyed tasting some local beer. There is always small bottles of water and fruit available. Coffee was fresh and available around the clock with cream, skim or soy options to add. The breakfast was slightly better than fair. I stay at many hotels and it's always the scrambled eggs which are obviously from a dry mix or box. The standard offering of too many carbohydrates (bagels, waffles, hot and cold cereal, etc.) although the sausage and hard boiled eggs were a good addition for protein. Appears to be in a quiet and safe area of town. Convenient to the freeways and walking distance to downtown. A nice grocery store (HEB) with a good deli about a block away. My room door closed with a very loud slam no matter how quietly I tried. I'm surprised no one complained. Room price was good. Extras were nice. I'd stay there again.
We have stayed at this hotel multiple times and will continue to stay here each year we visit San Antonio. This was our third visit and didn’t have a single issue. Hotel is always spotless, smells great, and never worry about our safety!!! All of the employees are friendly and willing to help anytime they can! Hotel has an exercise room, small pool, basketball/tennis court, and a great breakfast. We stayed four nights. The rooms offer everything you would need to cook a simple meal in the room. The breakfast always has eggs, a meat, and usually something additional in the hot area. You also get a good selection of waffles, fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, and cheese.
Called to ask about parking for a RV and they were very cordial and helpful. Upon arrival they were also very informative and later in the evening the person at the front desk gave us a lot of very useful information and directions. Pleasant stay and plenty of parking for larger vehicles.
I think my stay was good. The hotel is in a nice area. You can walk to the Riverwalk or La Villita from it. In addition, there is a new HEB (grocery store) one block away as well in case you need to buy something there. My only complaint was the breakfast area. There is not a lot of space for people to move freely from one station to another. I was continually bumping into people and the hotel was not even at anywhere near full capacity. Aside from that, I would recommend this place and stay at this location again.
We stayed in a two bedroom suite. No issues. Like all hotels, furniture could be a tad more comfortable. Very pleasant staff. We had good internet connections, although we paid for the daily upgrade. More TV channels would be nice. Limited free movie channels.
