An ideal location to decompress: Nestled in the "heart of the oasis" of the Texas Hill-country, it feels like you are far away from civilization, since we are a "Certified Wildlife Habitat" , Animal Rescue / Sanctuary and & horse ranch; yet we are located only 5 minutes from the quaint little German town of Boerne, just a little further to other picturesque Hill Country towns and 15 minutes from six Flags, 20 minutes from San Antonio.
We only have 9 cabins & suites for rent which are all private, spaced apart and in middle of 30 acres of lovely fields and woods, so plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors without any human contact. Then, all cooking can be done in cabin (or suite if you reserved your suite with kitchenette) and/or on grills we provide at no extra cost, so no need to go to any restaurants... Even all our "extra-fun" Animal Adventures and Horseback Riding activities have been modified so they are "private" - just for you, by reservation and conducted outdoors and at "safe-distance"...
Our exclusiveness and comfort are also ideal: Rent 1 or or for lager groups you can rent both brand new honeymoon suites each with super comfy bedding, fat fluffy towels, Jacuzzi tub, WIFI,, 65" High Def. TV with free Netflix, real murals & wainscoting, refrigerator, microwave and coffee station with fresh ground coffee,
Outside: A nice little porch with rocking chairs to enjoy the woods, watch the animals go by, read a book or listen to some nice music,, cook on your BBQ grill and enjoy eating your creation on tables in the woods. You can also enjoy the amenities of our ranch (we have 7 family-sized cabins); fire pit, grill etc,
Our Reassuring Hygiene: Upon each checkout, we ask all guests to cooperate in the safe-stay" procedures, with 3 simple steps: (1) wash their dishes with disinfecting soap we provide, air-dry and put them back in cabinets with doors closed, (2) put linens in plastic bags we provide and, seal and put by the door so we can promptly remove and (3) take all garbage to dumpster . Then we come in with face masks and spray every single surface with organic disinfectant and let the cabin air out while it takes effect, then go in and clean with disinfectant soap, all laundry is separately bagged and separately washed & dried in high heat. After cabins have been all cleaned out, we re-set beds with fresh linens and towels, new trash bags, cleaned / disinfected ac filters and filled up new coffee condiments. A final disinfecting of floors and doors are locked so no one can come in till you get here.

Our Honeymoon
We stayed here several nights and this place was amazing. Vicky and Mickey are the best and they make sure your stay is unforgettable. They personally cook brunch and I have to say it is the best brunch I have ever had. You can enjoy the peacefulness of the hill country but you are just minutes from town. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to get away for the weekend or taje your family for a little vacation. Thank you Vicky and Mickey for making our stay so enjoyable.

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Didn’t even get a chance to stay there did not receive a gate code or a cabin code to get in. Had to get a hotel for the night and ended up to stay in there for the whole week. I was very disappointed with the birdhouse situation.
The ranch is very peaceful, cabin was secluded for privacy, and pet friendly environment. Amanda, the management caretaker was awesome. She was receptive and responsive any time when we had to call to get something done. Cabin was well equipped with amenities. Vicky, the owner was a wonderful chef. We highly recommend to have breakfast or dinner at least once while you are there. Her preparations were so delicious. Micky, her husband who takes care of all animals there was also very customer friendly and people person. There are so many nice things I can say about the place.
At the same time just to take it with a punitiveness, there is room for a few upgrades that are needed. Water treatment need to be better to get rid of the sulfur dioxide smell. Cabins need to have decks for a sit out. Very difficult for any handicap person to get inside the cabin through narrow steps. Once inside the ranch at night, you can get lost. Better signages need to be posted. It will be better to provide feedback if leave a memory book in each cabin. Another item is the automatic gate. It was broken and need immediate fix. It is a botheration when you need to drive out and drive in.

Absolutely loved the property. Very peaceful. The hosts were fantastic and very attentive to our needs. Many activities. The accommodation itself was extremely clean and comfy.
Especially during this Corona virus time, I have felt free, safe, and comfortable — except when I make that short run to the grocery store for essentials! It is a beautiful farm and the bird sanctuary is something special. Micky and Vicky are the best: honest, responsive, caring and available. I consider them friends now and have already discussed my next visit.Highly recommend!
The property was a perfect getaway for what we needed while moving in between homes and needed a place for just a few weeks .. Property Manager Teresa was very kind, and attentive to our every request and need .. Awesome Lady!! .. The owner was very informative, helpful and kind and ever surprised us with an upgraded cabin!! .. Very Awesome experience and such a blessing to have found .. Thank you guys so much and we would definitely stay again

Paradise!
Mickey and Vicky are wonderful, welcoming people! The ranch is a real Paradise, filled with friendly animals, clean air, and a firefly show every night. So if you want to escape the craziness of the city, but not be too far away from everything, and enjoy a romantic getaway, this is the place for you!

Cool "country" weekend
We had a very cool weekend in the Country, and highly recommend this lovely suite, with nice jacuzi tub and awesome view! We opened the blinds on all the wrap around windows(3 sides) and from the bed it felt like we were camping outside in the lovely woods, but with a very comfy room, lol.
We rented both adding suites so ended up with the entire building (sleeps 8), and put the kids on the other side (Bird House Suite), and we stayed in the Tree House Suite so Walter and I felt romantically alone, yet with the reassurance that the kids were safely their own suite next door, watching Netflix on their huge high def flatscreen (they were tired from paying in the lovely river, which is 5 minutes from our suite, all day). We hired Vicky to bring us breakfast to our room and ate in bed,-The real Italian home-made capuchins, warm croissants and fresh squeezed orange juice and champagne was so deliciously sinful...
We also rode the horses and fed the goats, they are so cute...We even got to see babies being born, nurse for the first time, and them later! got to be the first person to hold them... Had a BBQ which the hosts arranged everything for us, then warmed by a bonfire with our favorite wine. Words can't describe how cool it is.
We hope to return for Valentines, without our kids, and let Vicky and Micky take us on the wine tasting tour!

Run down and derelict
Although the manager (I presume) greeted us with friendliness, he seemed amazed when I inquired about where breakfast would be and said we would not want to share any breakfast he made and that the owners were not there. The property was advertised as a bed and breakfast and so we had to pay for breakfast in town. The accommodation was dirty - there was bath mat that looked as if feces had been smeared on it. The coffee pot had old coffee in it and grinds that were full of mold. The bed did not have sheets. The floor was gritty with dirt and the bed was incredibly squeaky and uncomfortable. The water was well water that stinks of sulfur and the toilets septic tanks cannot take toilet paper which has to be deposited in a bin next to the toilet - but there is no service to remove it daily. The decor felt as if it was a collection of junk from garage sales. This was no Honeymoon suite!
The setting is pretty but I felt as if the money asked was exorbitant for what we got. We did not stay the last night but booked into the Marriott on the River Walk just to have a decent night's sleep and some comfort. All in all a very disappointing experience for a lot of money. No offer was made to refund us for not having provided breakfast. The property has obviously seen better days with old junk all around, and fences falling down.

River R&R
Having spent the last seven hours en route to our dear Victoria & Miguel, it was nothing short of a relief to find open arms ready to guide us to our adjoining suites upon our family's arrival Sunday evening. Our three darling children slept in quite a bit on Monday morning so we simply perused the property before going to explore Boerne. After purchasing a few snacks, a 25' run for our dog and tubes (on which we anticipated to "float the river" instead of the adjoining swollen steam), we headed back to our temporary abode, ready for our next day's adventure at the Guadalupe River. After sleeping in again on Tuesday, we coaxed the kids off the property, away from their new farm animal friends for the sake of a little river therapy. Having brought our energetic canine, we took him (out of the ranch's dog kennel) on the approximately ten minute drive to sunshine and sand. Exhausted after hours of enjoyment, we once again retired to our cozy rooms on Tuesday evening after cooking hotdogs and marshmallows (for s'mores) on homemade skewers (c/o Becka, one of the sweet ranch employees) over the fire pit. After arising abnormally post-9am once more, our Wednesday was spent again on the property: exploring, grilling out, playing with the goats and on the pony! One of our twin toddlers was slightly overwhelmed by the idea of being on horseback but the other had an absolute blast. As for our tween daughter, simply interacting with the animals and playing on the property was nothing short of a therapeutic reprieve from suburbia. In summation, DFW was so far from missed that our twins continue to request we return to "our temporary home" in Hill Country even over a week after coming back to our own beds.
As an aside, the property is currently (summer of 2015) undergoing improvements that require extra supervision for young children when exploring but the hand-in-hand adventure simply added to the allure for our family!
