This was a boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly and the place is kept very clean. The space theme is different, but cute. It is decorated in 70’s orange, so it has a bit of a retro feel.

The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. The breakfast is good as well. The only issue is the glass doors in the rooms, first it does not give much privacy (although there are curtains), and second the wind from the sea keeps knocking the glass doors at night making sleeping very difficult.

Great Designer Hotel, Shame About Location.

The serious draw back is the location & surrounding area. Far away from the action. Hotel nicely designed. Kind of place you would pay four times for. Unique. Decent beach for surfing.

Do not stay here.

I cancelled my reservation within an hour of arriving to the location. The hotel was a mess and was being remodeled, there was no air conditioning in the lobby, no dinner available at the pool, the service was unprofessional and the staff were not helpful.

It was only a one night stay. The rooms are spacious and interestingly designed. As I was traveling with a toddler the concrete edges in the bed design were not ideal. Nice enough rooms but here was a slightly fishy odor in the rooms. Hotel exterior appeared a bit rundown but my stay was satisfacory and would recommend it for future use.

Style but no substance

Very stylish hotel. They did everything right. Except they placed it in the parking lot of a gas station, didn't put in enough air conditioning, and made the rooms smell like urinal cakes. The pool is a little dirty and the staff ranged from helpful to rude.

Great beach getaway but too far from the action

Cocooon is cool, mod and definetely better geared as a beach getaway. Service is reasonably good and breakfast had a great spread and variety. Decor has the feeling of a minimalist boutique hotel. Rooms have glass store front which need to be locked for safety and it makes for a very fish in the bowl claustrophobic feeling. For me, a solo traveler with little time, the commute to Bahia's attractions was very inconvenient and taxi expensive. There are public busses which go through Bahia's beaches. Couples and people with cars do better here. Barra would have been the ideal location.

Cool hotel in a weird location

It is a really cool and trendy hotel, but really stuck in the middle of nowhere. There isnt really one thing to do around 10 blocks. The food is very good, the pool is amazing, the rooms are modern and with very nice details. If you come to Salvador to stay in the hotel then pick this one, if you want to see the city then think about the money you will pay in taxis or the time it will take you there. Its close to the airport!!!

Far away from centre

The hotel in itself was ok. Except only one person in reception spoke english and the breakfast didn't have a lot of choice so after 6 days it became rather boring. The hotel is located about 45mins from city centre and to get there by bus is a mission as they come rarely and no one speaks english to help you. The area is very local with a supermarked near by and a little restaurent across the road. But besides that, there's nothing else but the beach. Would go again if the hotel was nearer the town centre but it was too far for me.
