We stayed in this hotel only one night on our way to Madrid with a group during a Pilgrimage. Our room was on the 2nd floor right above the entrance and the noise level was very high. Even with the windows closed, you could hear the street noise all night long. The view of the city, however, was nice but not worth it for the noise.
We had a room on the first floor (second floor in US) facing the front of the hotel and busy road just outside. The hotel is noisy, both from the traffic, street sweepers, and restaurants outside, and other guests in adjoining rooms (walls must be thin or under insulated to let all that noise pass through). Additionallly the air conditioning did not function well making the room hot and stuffy. The bed was also very hard. On the positive side the shower was good (hot water and plenty of pressure).
The hotel is nice, clean, very well located, lots of restaurants and bars on the streets nearby. Staff is reasonably nice, but do not help with the bags. The breakfast is weak.. There are other possibilities for breakfast right nearby. The baby crib was a wooden one - good. Good pillows and mattrass. There is a parking for 15 € fee, difficult to use, as usual in Spanish cities.
Average accommodations. Nothing special either good or bad. Slept well and hotel was near restaurants and stores. Staff was average. Room was clean and water for shower was hot. We were traveling with a group of 40 people so dinner was included. Food was eatable but not great.
We stayed here only one night while on a Gate 1 Travel tour. The hotel was clean and in a good neighborhood with a very easy walk into the old section of Salamanca. The staff was helpful and made change of larger Euro bills without a problem. Wifi was ok and the breakfast was just ok.
We had biked (yes bicycles!) 80km the morning we arrived at the hotel. We were hoping for a helping hand with our luggage (at least) once we had parked our bicycles down in the parking lot. Two men were working behind the desk and were uninterested in helping us with the baggage or even opening the front door (which we were struggling with, while each carrying 5 awkward bike bags) We were obviously struggling with our panniers (bike bags) and neither of them budged from behind the desk to assist us. They were not helping other guests at that moment, so why they did not offer to help was baffling. I had throbbing knee pain from the ride and was also needing to cool down, so I returned down to the front desk to request some ice (the cleaning staff said I had to ask downstairs), and they replied with "The cafeteria is closed until 6:30". Overall, the daytime front desk need more training on courtesy. And install an automatic front door! How one (even able-bodied bike tourists like us) is supposed to open the front door with multiple bags in hand is unknown to me. Otherwise, the room itself we are staying in, is clean and comfortable. No complaints regarding that.
It is a charming hotel within walking distances from the cathedral and the square. Plenty of fruit stands and bistros nearby. The staff are charming and the room was spacious and cleaning. We stayed at the first floor (one level up). We were worried about the street noises. Either we were too tired or the bed was too comfortable, in any case, we had a great night sleep.
We had two rooms for two couples. Location 3.5 stars. Lobby area 4 stars. Staff 4.5 stars. Room 3 stars. Bedding 4 stars. Breakfast 3.5 stars. We were on a Gate1 bus tour. Hotel is 20-minute walk to prime tourist area. Satisfied with hotel.
From the minute you enter under the turquoise chandelier and your eyes feast on all the 'quirky' items of 'objects' dotted around the place it's difficult not too smile. It's well situated for exploring Salamanca, it's very clean and the breakfasts were very good too. However, I did find the receptionist not very welcoming at all. Not one smile.
The hotel has a good location and it is very clean. The room is spacious and has good beds and sheets, the bathroom is good too. The only thing is the colors and decorations.. black curtains, and things that looked cheapy.. really you can stay here but I think there are more places that would be better to the eye. Breakfast is so so..
