This Hotel is just perfect in every way, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the place is immaculate inside and out. Beds are amazingly comfortable, bathrooms are luxurious and spotless, not even a water drop can be seen on the taps or the glass doors of the shower, don't know how they manage. But the best of all is the rooftop terrace, amazing views over the city, relax after and hot day of sightseeing with a glass of wine and some nibbles, possibility of eating there too whilst breathing in the cool breeze from the Roman hills. Breakfast is a feast and the pastries available are scrumptious. A perfect treat which will make you want to stay longer and return for sure.
I stayed at this hotel after cruising with my family and returning back to Rome. The hotel is nice and clean and it is very close to the train station in Rome. It is a very small room but comfortable for the three of us. The only complaint I have is that it advertises free breakfast and when I stayed there, I was told that it was 15 euros per person per day if we wanted breakfast. I think that was a little too much being that we paid over 750 euros for three nights. Other than that, I think it was okay.
Finding good birthday presents for people who mean the world to you is a big deal. The boyfriend had never been to Rome before and I wanted to treat him to somewhere special he would remember for years to come. Months of research led me to book for 3 nights at The Independent Hotel, in Rome. I knew I had to expect a good hotel (you don't get to be the 35th best hotel (out of 1256 hotels in Rome)out of sheer luck but I didn't expect the hotel to surpass my expectations in every way. Even before my trip, my impressions of the hotel staff were already very good. I knew the airport transfer from Fiumicino Airport would be quite long (a good 45 minutes to 1 hour) so I got in touch with the hotel to arrange a pickup from their transfer service. Communications were seamless and efficient. In a few hours, I had already received confirmation of my booking and another confirmation days before I was due to travel. I couldn't have hoped for a better hotel. The hotel enjoys a fantastic location, there is a luxurious feel throughout but most of all, it's the service provided by the staff which makes this place a real gem. We were treated to a room upgrade and spent our 3 nights there in the gorgeous suite, which was one of the most spacious rooms of the entire hotel. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing that room was. Gigantic bed, luxurious bed linen, lovely wooden floor, strong water pressure in shower etc.. This room was just incredible. Now, the view from this room (and I presume most of the other rooms) was not so much to look at. That's ok. Like the other guests staying there, I know that the magic happens on the rooftop, where you are treated with the most magical view over this beautiful city. The view is so incredible that it almost makes the trip to the scenic Colle Di Gianocolo (Janiculum hill) almost redundant. On the actual day of his birthday, after a long day of sightseeing around the Colloseum in 33 C heat, we arrived in our hotel room and found another gift: a beautiful bottle of wine to celebrate his birthday, bottle which we took to the rooftop terrace and enjoy while watching the sun go down There's a lot I could say about my 3 days in Rome. I could tell you why the location of this hotel is great, what excursions I did while I was there, my favourite places to eat ("Mercato Centrale Roma" Artisan Food Court in 7 minutes walking distance is an absolute must!!! ) but I just want this review to just be about the Independent Hotel. Thank you so much for your hospitality. The boyfriend and I enjoyed every minute of our wonderful stay in your beautiful establishment. Grazie mile for a truly memorable stay :) :) xx Tip: Treat yourself to the hotel transfer service. On arrival, a posh air conditioned BMW (5 or 7 series) whisked us away to our hotel which was such a nice treat with after a very uncomfortable flight in rigid jet2.com seats.
This is a lovely hotel, It is immaculate everywhere and located perfectly with the station and tourist bus stop in sight of the front door, and it is close to many other attractions. On arrival the reception staff were really friendly and welcoming. They were also knowledgeable about the local attractions and restaurants and could not have been more helpful. Our room was spacious, stylish, comfortable, had tea and coffee making facilities and was immaculately clean as was the en suite. Our room also had a balcony over looking courtyards at the rear of the building so is a nice place to sit and relax. It was quiet and air conditioned which made sleeping in the very comfortable bed restful. The roof terrace is a fantastic place. It can be partly covered and heated should you wish to shelter from the elements so is all weather comfortable. It also overlooks the old Roman baths. Now the Rome museum which is well worth a visit. The terrace also has great views across Rome. There is a bar that also serves very good light meals and snacks in the evening. Breakfast is also served here and is an excellent continental with loads of choice to set yourself up for a days exploring. The staff here like in the rest of the hotel are very friendly and helpful, really first class.
4 night stay with breakfast option. We arrived around 10:00 am post cruise. Our room was upgraded to king size room. Room was large, quiet and modern with small balcony to the back of the hotel. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Best part of the hotel was their roof top deck. which had amazing views. They had live entertainment 2 nights, this also is where their breakfast buffet was served. You are least 25 min walk from most of the attractions. Taxi to the vatican was 10 euro and to Colosseum was 8 euro walk back from both of these location. Only complaint is TV channel, i know who watches TV when in Rome, however if your the type that likes to a bit before going to bed, their was only CNN to watch in english. We enjoyed our stay, would not hesitate to stay again.
Very nice hotel, great location, great hospitality and an all around very satisfying nights sleep! Incredible bathroom, very modern and well maintained, very comfortable bed with a complimentary mini bar. Also a lovely rooftop bar with nice views of the city!!
We were booked in the Independent Suites and were upgraded to the apartment, which was wonderful. It is immaculately designed and very spacious. We were traveling with a baby and the staff were very accommodating and helpful during our short stay. I wish we had more time there at this great, centrally located property. We enjoyed drinks on the rooftop, which has a great view.
For us and our needs, this location was perfect! We came to Rome from Naples on the train and it was a quick and easy walk from the station to the Hotel. It is a quaint hotel among the busy and bustling city. It was refreshing to find and we were very pleased that they gave us waters, sodas, and a snack in our room upon arriving! Our bed was comfortable, the noise was mild within the hotel at night, the bathroom was nice and large enough. We enjoyed the rooftop bar at night for a drink and they had entertainment the night we were there. The food from the restaurant was just ok, not great but we were happy to have something without leaving the building at 10:00pm! The breakfast was included the next morning for us, and it was good as well. The rooftop terrace is always enjoyable both morning and evening. We will stay here again, as it was very comfortable, and a good location near the train station.
This hotel was perfect for our recent trip to Rome. The hop on and off bus was just outside our door, as well as the Rome train station. The rooms are clean, modern, and beautiful. The only downside is the elevator is extremely small and hard to catch, if you are handicapped or need the elevator just keep that in mind. That wasn't enough to take a star off as this hotel was perfect for our trip to Rome!
We arrive early on a Sunday morning, we book an airport pick up with a 1.5hr city tour to arrive at hotel at 11am. Front office Valerio was very kind enough to allow us to check in early. Our room was nicely decorated & come with free mini bar & Nespresso machine. Valerio & Giorgia also recommended us to book semi private tours to Vatican and the Colosseum. It was a good recommendation indeed. We were picked up by private transport to arrive at the meeting venue to meet our guide. Both tours were well conducted in English and we enjoyed the "skip the lines" experience. The public queue were extremely long at both attractions. On check out day, hotel kindly hold our luggages for three days while we joined a Carrani tour to Sorrento with Pompeii tour Capri island tour included. We only have time to have breakfast on one morning. The selection was sufficient enough with hot food & continental selection Front office also assisted to book my dinner at Alessio restaurant & help me call a taxi for me to proceed to my second destination. Great thanks to Maria I hope to be back , ciao !
