When I booked the Independent Suites I was not aware I had not booked the hotel so was unsure what to expect as the Suites are along the road from the hotel. I got a very good deal which was half the price of going into the hotel so would always opt for this rather than paying double the price to stay in the hotel. Hotel staff were very helpful, friendly and offered good advice during our stay. Being in the annex of the Independent Hotel was no problem, the room was small but perfectly adequate for our stay as we did not plan to spend our city break in the room. The room was very clean and modern. There were plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. We used the roof top bar in the hotel on a couple of occasions and this has amazing views of Rome and worth a visit. The suites are in an ideal location near to the train station and all the attractions. We walked to all the major attractions during our stay and did not use any of the transport systems. The furthest attraction was The Vatican which was approximately a 40 minute walk. I would recommend the Suites over going into the hotel for value for money in 4 star accommodation.
My husband and I just got back from a 3 night stay at the Independent Suites (an offset of the Independent Hotel). Wow! We got an unbelievable deal through Priceline doing a blind bidding ($63/night before taxes/fees for a 4 Star, 8/10, in the heart of Rome, what?!). When I first booked it I was so skeptical of what to expect, because reading some poor reviews people did not realize the difference between the Independent Suites and the Independent Hotel. I reached out with some question to the parent hotel (Independent Hotel) and was answered expertly and precisely by Valerio. I ordered champagne and rose pedals for a surprise, and it was kept a secret the whole time of our check in. You are given access to the rooftop bar at the top of the Independent Hotel and what a view (go up there first to get your bearings)! Our room was just a few doors down and there were a lot of keys that helped us feel super secure. The room seemed to be a converted apartment so we could hear housekeeping a few times but nothing obnoxious. The room had very high ceilings, lots of room to spread my things out, and a bathroom that did the trick. The front desk was absolutely second to none, they seemed so genuine in wanting to assist and explain things to us. They even made dinner reservations for us, and gave us some area attraction information. THANK YOU! Especially for the price we were blown away! If you know in the ins and outs of this (unusual) hotel, I think most travelers will walk away pleased.
First time in Rome and it was amazing! Weather was lovely and it was Just a magical experience!!! Stayed in the annex of independent hotel room was small but lovely and extremely clean! Staff very helpful and rooftop bar was lovely! Only negative is the noise street is very noisy and I think they should point this out when booking... Looking forward to revisiting
Independent Suites are not the Independent Hotel. When I made my reservation I thought was booking the Hotel, then the reservation email said "Independent Suites." Oddly, when I clicked on the Suites Icon in my confirmation email, it took me to the Hotel where amenities like the rooftop deck, reception, security, and FREE Breakfast are listed. So when we arrived and were sent down the street to a sketchy apartment building with no security and a room so small I had to sit on the bed so my husband could open his suitcase on the floor, I was quite surprised. The next morning, we discovered we were not getting the free breakfast, either. The manager explained to us that they have no control over the online reservations and if the links were misleading, there wasn't anything he could do. So be very careful before you click, the price might seem like a great offer, but you may be getting a surprise with no amenities.
I'm really happy to stay at any facility of Hotel Independent even Hotel or Suites. Since years my family, me and now my friends we're staying at this hotel. This is the first time I used the suites my my two friends very happy to stay. Like to visit once again, very happy with service and staff. Higly recommeded. A very nice, clean place and I can say in the just middle of Rome.
Stranded in Rome for an extra night and crashed at the suites with the kids. Fresh, spacious and elegant. Luigi and Juan Carlos were very helpful and pleasant during the breakfast on the rooftop terrace
We stayed at this hotel in Rome during a recent visit. The room was ready before check-in, which was very accommodating due to us traveling in from the US and being awake for over 24 hours. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. The room itself was big with tall ceilings. It had a wonderful bathroom and large shower and was decorated nicely. There is an in-room safe and lighted closet. The best part was that this hotel was located within walking distance to the Roma Termini train station where we could just walk to catch the train. The room was quiet- did not hear many loud city noises. They have a rooftop restaurant/bar that offers the best sunset views in Rome! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again if we are ever in Rome.
Our family of 2 adults and 3 children (age 8, 11 and 12) stayed at the 3-bedroom apartment at the Independent Suite, whose front door is 10 steps away from the Independent Hotel. The apartment was spacious, had 2 nicely decorated bathrooms with strong showers and was very clean. Complimentary drinks were offered at the roof bar which had the best view of Rome. Very close to Termini station so very convenient. Nice restaurants and convenient stores on the same street. The area felt very safe. We have no complaints. If we visit Rome again, we will definitely stay here again.
My husband and I stayed three nights at the Independent. The room was small, and it was considered an "upgrade," as well in another building which was part of a residential building. Although very modern and clean, we found not being in the actual hotel a nuisance as we had to turn in the building key every time we went out. The staff was warm - the location was perfect as it was down the street to the Termini train station and within an hour walk from all the major sights. The bonus was a free cell phone to use as a navigation system or to use to make free local/international phone calls !
We selected this hotel based on it's proximity to the train station and modern design. After staying at some older hotels with character we felt we wanted a bit of modern decor. We were put in the annex --which is like 3 apartments two doors down from the hotel. The good news is the room was great - tiny- but clean and comfy. The bad news was that were were not in the hotel building itself. Not a big deal though. I highly recommend going up to the rooftop bar at night. That was a real treat and an unexpected perk of this hotel. I would definitely stay here again.
