Disappointing stay at what COULD be a lovely place

While the room looked very much as pictured, and the view over San Lorenzo in Lucina was super, the bed was worn to the point of sagging in the center, and unsupportive. The windows had very little sound proofing (though purported to in the advertisement) from the lively square below. We have stayed in other hotels in Rome Center and other cities overlooking piazze which were just as noisy, but the windows were much better fitting for soundproofing. It was very difficult to sleep with the amount of noise from below, as well as the assistant above. It was end of season and not as crowded as high season, so I would imagine even more noise in the busier periods. The bathroom was also outdated with a loose hanging/unstable shower (rather unsafe, actually) that also leaked onto the floor. A new mattress, better window fittings, and shower would make this a comfortable and pleasant stay. As it was, we were very disappointed with this accommodation.

There were bed bugs that were not resolved after treatment. Would not return. Very difficult to access room. Difficult to access bathroom at the top of small metal spiral stairs. Difficult to shower in small tub with low ceiling.

Best place to stay in Rome

This was my third time staying at this hotel in Rome. :) The hotel is in the best possible location and the staff are lovely (especially Daniel). I have stayed in 3 different rooms (A different one on every occasion) and they have all been lovely. The beds are really comfortable, the bathrooms are all super clean and well equipped. The location is literally the best you will ever find in the centre of such a busy city such as Rome. :))

This was a great stay for us, the location is central and very ideal for walking. The air conditioner didn’t work very well but the overall room was nice. However we really struggled finding it. I wish there were more photos or instructions for how to find the apartment. For future reference (to other travelers) if you find the restaurant Vitti the entrance is to the right of that in the square (you’ll see a church entrance as well) you then ring the buzzer to splendor suites and take the elevator to the 4th floor.

Amazing location and fit our needs

The Splendor Suites was a great place for our family to stay. The location was incredible to be able to walk around the main sites of Rome with some great shopping, restaurants and gelato right outside the door. This is a great place if you are coming and have a family with kids. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids age 8, 6, 6. The room we had was a little quirky as the roof was very low and sloped in the kitchen and the room the kids slept in that make it not really functional for adults or if you plan to use the kitchen heavily. We didn't use the kitchen so it was perfect for us. Couldn't give 5 stars as many of the finishes look nice, but are pretty cheap. Door frame fell apart on 2 doors while we were there. They fixed it very quick. Would stay again.

Daniele, in the reception, is very accommodating,gave us recommendations where to eat/go and booked our transfer from hotel to airport. Area is convenient to shopping, landmarks and restaurants. Our view from our balcony is the piazza. The only downside is the ac, the room didn’t get cooler as we wanted to. But we still go back to this hotel if given the chance to be back in Rome. Thank you!!!

We booked this property primarily for its great location and it did not disappoint. We were able to easily walk to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and Piazza Navona. The piazza where the hotel is located has lots of dining options and was much less crowded than other tourist areas. The property itself was ok. It was tight for our family of six with just one bathroom and no real door for the main master bedroom so very little privacy. The staff were great and helped carry our luggage up the couple of flights of stairs as the elevator only goes up part of the way. Overall, this property was fine for a couple of days and you can’t beat the location!
