Smooth Hotel Rome West

We arrived to the hotel quite late but despite the large group of people before us we got checked-in really quick. The room was just fine, large bed, fresh linen and clean bathroom. We were visiting Rome knowing that we wont spent time staying at the hotel, the nearest metro station is just 10 min away so its pretty handy, we also took a walk to Vatican City. We had a buffet breakfast included, there was fresh bread and pastry, usual ham, cheese jams etc and a coffee machine- all area kept neat and tidy.

The service is very good and the people are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is good and with enough options. The location is very convenient for my trip. These would make repeat my stay. However the room lack lust and does not match a 4 star hotel: no soap, no shampoo, no glass.. but very clean.

The only thing I liked was the Taxi service they arranged to exit this disaster of a hotel, which cost only 50 euros to the airport (Fiumicino) and was a very good service with very clean car and nice driver. Otherwise, here is the reasons for the score: Firstly, when we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by a non caring staff member who didn't seem very interested in assisting us at all, but the worst part is that he told us that even though we booked our hotel for the day (and I also included my arrival time in the booking), the hotel staff told us that our booking was from the afternoon to the night only... and that the room wasn't ready anyway and we'd have to wait until 3:30pm. Now after a 15 hour trip, one does not want to wait in a lobby for more than 5 hours. Pretty much we were treated with contempt and told lies right from the start so we decided to walk off the stress a little. Secondly, when we returned to check in at 3pm thereabouts, we were given room 208 which when we opened the door, there were trademan's tools on the floor and a broken wall (see photos), thus logic will tell you that this room was never ready from the start and the hotel staff made us wait so many hours for nothing, even though I paid the price they were asking for a full day and night booking. Not only that, but the staff member had received a phone call and instead of checking us in as soon as possible, decided to speak with the person on the phone for 5 minutes... even though we'd been waiting for over 5 hours to check in... absolutely ridiculous. Thirdly, we were then given room 108, which was absolutely disgustingly dirty, the wall had a black tinge around it, the curtains were totally filthy and some holes were in the wall where there had been previously a TV set, in 2 locations (see photos)... but you could see lighter parts of the wall as compared to the rest of the room. Air-conditioner didn't work after 60 seconds operation... but you could also see the black soot on the wall from the air-conditioning vent. Filthy curtains and wall, see my photos of the proof, holes in wall, light switches not working, power-point on bed head extruding from the mounting hole (big safety risk), filthy shower head which was also leaking upwards and sideways from the rear, wetting the entire wall, ridiculously high bath tub/shower base which had no slip mat either. Unless you are a gymnast, you would find difficulty entering this bath/shower. Shower curtain used as water barrier. Bed was okay for comfort as well as the pillows, however the whole room was dust ridden so we had to open the window to let at least some fresh air in. Very arrogant staff, non caring and poor quality stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until as such time as the hotel clean up their act.

Clean room with balcony - nice, spacious bathroom - excellent breakfast, good location (10 minute walk to subway), nice staff. Excellent space for a solo traveler looking for a nice peaceful place to stay.

Had visited in May - 2017 at this hotel, Found to be good and Neat / Clean hotel with Balcony. Good to visit. Nearest Metro is Cornelia and very near to Lepanto , main station to connect Vaticano. Roma City pass Must be taken for a Less costly Travel.

The man in the reception - Alberto (not very sure about the name) was very kind. When we checked-in he gave us map of the city, told is where are the markets, told us about interesting places we could visit and even printed us instructions how to get there. Amazing! All the staff were very kind and wonderful people. The hotel is very clean and the rooms too. It is quiet place and it's close to Metro station which makes our journey more comfortable. Me and my wife highly suggest you to visit this hotel. Max rating from us!

The hotel was very clean and had some redecorating going on. Nearest metro is about 3/4 of a mile away which then takes you into the city. Air con is only on from June onwards and the rooms on the road can be a bit noisy. Breakfast was fine, staff were very helpful and knowledgable about the city. Wifi worked fine. Basically a cheap option if you dont mind a short walk

It must be a long time since this hotel was rated. I would say it is between 2-3 star. No tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms wallpaper a mess, door handle loose, no ironing board or iron and they didn't have one to use. left luggage was just put in the corridor and not away in a room somewhere. WIFI always going down. We tried to contact them prior to arrange to be picked up from the airport but they never got back to us. Air Con not on, even though it was 30 degrees at the time.

Absalutly disgusted attitude very poor rooms need updating wallpaper ripped mould in corners of the room at the end of the stay was informed we at to pay goverment tax 6euro each for every nite u stop there needs down grading from a 4 star to a 2 star

Our tour group of 45 stayed here 3 nights. We took a 30 minute tour bus ride to and from the city. The taxi drivers were on strike, so it was best to return to the hotel with the tour bus to avoid getting stuck in Rome. The wi-fi was only free for 1 hour a day, and was very spotty. We shared rooms with 2 people per room. Our room had 2 small twin beds right next to each other. The room was very hot and we slept with the window open. The bar stayed open until about 11:30 for us because there were so many of us drinking and eating olives and pretzels.
