Smart Hotel is a great choice for a reasonable, updated place to stay in Rome. It's near the railway station with buses and metro nearby for easy getting around rome. The staff is very nice and the breakfast, which is included in the price, is excellent. The standard rooms are not very large but adequate. We stayed here at the beginning and the end of our trip.
This was my second stay at Smart Hotel. The rooms were clean and the location is very convenient for getting around. The rooftop was not open again which would have been nice to get a peek from above. Drink tickets only covered wine and were only good for one night. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were quite warm and the cool setting did not work...our room was comfortable but we had to crack the window to cool down. Refrigerator was small and did not have room for our refreshments without taking the stocked goods out.
The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English. Our room was spacious bright and Modern. Very clean and the shower was amazing ! 😊 We were very impressed with tasty choice of hot & cold food at breakfast and the welcome drink was a nice touch I would definitely recommend this hotel .
Couldn't ask for a better place to stay. The location is fabulous because it is so close to Termini and so many buses that we tourists want to take. The hotel was very clean, the food was excellent, the breakfast spread was amazing and most of all, the staff was the friendliest and most helpful you can imagine. We were met with smiling faces constantly and they were so personable and helpful. They were all young and enthusiastic and just could not have been nicer. As if this is not enough, the price is extremely reasonable. The area is not the greatest and the hotel is not decked out like some fancier ones but it was just outstanding in everything that mattered. We would stay there in a minute if we ever return to Rome.
I ordered a fruit plate the first thing when we get to the room, and it wasn't there. We also order a taxi, and it get 15 mins late. Overall, the stay was good but with few inconvenients. I won't go to this hotel again, I'll try another one.
Modern & conveniently located near to Termini Station. Very good breakfast with lots of choice. Staff were all very friendly and helpful - especially Moz who checked us in at 1.30am .Room could have been bigger.
Great central location. Request for 2 adjoining rooms had not come through so I'd advise contacting them directly in advance. Despite being busy they were able to move us to achieve rooms close by. Breakfast was ok but cooked option, fruit range and quality of juice was disappointing. Dinner was surprisingly excellent with a wide choice and great delivery. Rooms were clean and functional. Aircon struggled to get rooms cool. Water temperature in showers was a bit variable and accessible bathrooms, whilst well fitted out, did need to be dried down after a shower as most of the floor got wet. The key asset of this hotel is its staff. They were all welcoming, cheerful and helpful every single day regardless of their roles in the hotel.
This hotel is in a convenient location near the main (termini) train station, 2 main metro lines and also within walking distance to many central attractions. The staff are friendly and attentive. Coffee at the breakfast buffet was excellent and prepared fresh by the staff. Once it was repaired, the room A/C was great. Mini bar was well stocked and items were reasonably priced (3 euros for a beer or a small can of chips). Unfortunately. Due to its proximity to the termini station, the area was a bit seedy almost to the point of feeling less than safe. First night was rough as the A/C did not work (but management fixed it by the 2nd day). Rooftop bar was closed and in any case was not accessible via the elevator. The bathroom was poorly lit and the faucet in the bathroom sink was extremely loose. The mattress was rock hard. The scrambled eggs were overcooked to the point of crunchiness, although the bacon was pretty good.
The hotel has some nice things about it like it's very near the train station so you could get to places quickly ,the breakfast is really good and they have an awesome shower. The rooms are very small but clean . There are cons however, the biggest one being that we found out the air conditioning is central air so they control it. They make it like you're controlling it from the room because they have a temperature control and everything but that's baloney. All of a sudden we wake up in the middle of the night we're sweating like crazy we didn't know what was wrong. We go down to the desk and they tell us that the air is turned off at night and to open up the window. Now I don't think they do this in the summer( I would hope not) but even though we're not in summer it was still very warm in the room. Big turnoff for us because I like to be comfortable when I'm sleeping. I think there are a lot of better places to stay in Rome.
Our last stay was two years ago and once again my wife and I were very happy with our choice of hotel. Looking at previous reviews it seems we are quite lucky to be given, for the second time an excellent room with very modern amenities and wonderful bathroom and shower facilities. We find the convenience to the Termini train station an added bonus and the taxi rank is just one short block away. Breakfast was good and the cappuccino excellent. All the restaurant staff and ladies in reception were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying at the Smart the on our next visit to Rome.
