Welcome to Monti, a lively district as spirited as the harmonious hodgepodge of atmosphere, history, and modern attitudes and ideas blending and keeping the pulse of this area pumping. A center of population in ancient times, the heartbeat of Rome is ever-moving, away from this district for some centuries, and then back again, revived with a mix of freshly 21st century ideas. Perhaps one of the most convenient urban areas, Monti is chock-full of public transit options, including subway stations that spirit guests all over Rome in moments. Not only is the awe-inspiring ancient center truly just outside my door, but the historic center itself is well-connected and even walkable from the property, not to mention an ever-active nightlife and cuisine scene I urge travelers to delve right into. The Colosseum beckons you less than 1km away while the nearby Baroque beauty and majesty of the Trevi fountain calls for your coin toss and imminent return to Rome. However you look at it, you can’t swing a cat in Monti without hitting ancient history, which I find an eternal flow of fascination, and I hope you do too.
I was hoping to evoke the vibrance of this artsy area with a variety of modern paintings and pieces, bright, inviting colors, and a general visual “POP”, tempered by softer, earthen tones and exposed brick arches echoing the history of the neighborhood, while maintaining all the comforts needed to feel at home. A full kitchen is at your disposal should you choose to snack, dine-in, or maybe enjoy drinks and appetizers in the lovely little yard/terrace while taking advantage of our wonderful weather. A/C keeps us all cool during the warmer months and I’ve included satellite tv and internet so all my visitors can stay connected while on vacation, as well as a washing machine; no one feels at home without clean clothes! 50 sqm is large enough for a couple to be comfortable or a single person to embrace the privacy after a day out and about amongst the crowds. Selci is decked out/equipped as an extension of the area as much as myself, and an excellent starting point to experience the blend of centuries.
The apartment is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and space to spread out with a separate bedroom and a dining area. The bathroom offers hair dryers and bidets. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a coffee maker, and an ironing board.

Fantastico! This was a perfect, central home base, within a 30 min walk of almost everything. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. The private patio was a great place to unwind after a busy, people packed day. There were a few things that were outdated and could use a refresh (like the microwave and electric kettle), but still got the job done. The people who take care of the unit were kind and attentive

Location was great! The host was fantastic, very responsive, and helpful. The apartment was spacious. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and shower were very nice. The living room furniture looks great but was not comfortable after a long day of sightseeing. The sofa is very low for a 70 year old couple. The bonus for us was that there were several English speaking tv stations which played a lot of older tv shows such as Magnum PI , Law and Order, Miami Vice , etc.Overall. It is a great place to stay.

As listed this was an excellent location. Coliseum very close by and most sites, trains and known neighborhoods are within walking distance. The unit is on a quiet and safe street with police station a few doors down. Well lit too. Great restaurants near by and a market. We arrived in Rome at 8:00 am and the earliest we could check in was 1:00 pm so unfortunately we were stuck having to kill time with our luggage in tow in the extreme heat and uneven pavement/sidewalks. I would recommend planning for a later arrival in light of most check-in times for rentals. Hotels should let you drop off your bags so you can go explore. The unit was as described. We could not find the dishes; mgmt said they were there but we didn’t press it as we found we really didn’t need them. Detergent provided for one load. I would recommend mgmt provide some simple instructions because the machines are quite different from the U.S. and I had to research the manual online. There is outdoor space to dry clothes, but even with extreme heat & humidity the area is quite blocked from sunlight and took over a day to dry. Plan to wash earlier if needed especially in cooler temps. The AC worked well, only one night we couldn’t get it to be a little cooler. Be careful with steps when entering/exiting because the doorway is dark. Would be helpful to add a light there. Sofa was a bit low for me too, but might be fine for younger people to get up from. Overall our stay was great and would recommend this place!

Lovely and big apartment for 2!

This place was really wonderful for a couple/single! It had a good size living area and comfortable bed, kitchenette is perfect for small meals and the host/managers were so lovely and helpful! Would definitely recommend to people wanting to stay near the colosseum. Only thing to consider is it’s about a 20-min walk minimum to other Rome attractions but otherwise it’s perfect.

Fabulous location and space

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights. The location was wonderful. It was an easy walk to the Colosseum, metro, and food in the morning. The manager of the apartment met us on time to give us our key and show us how everything works.The apartment is on the walk-in level, which was great for us, as we had a lot of luggage.Across the street is a wine tasting business and we enjoyed wine there on our first night.

Worst lodging Ever

After 12 hrs in flights we go into dingy dungeon with no We got 2 towels for 4 days, no washcloths, no paper towels, 1 tiny bat of hotel soap, 2 hotel size shampoos. I wouldn't recommend this place anyone and we bwlieve money is owed for the first lousy night.hot water until the next day, Owner would not answer, key person said not bother her.

Close to the Colosseum! Apartment needs some TLC

Love: the apartment is a 12-minute easy walk to the Colosseum and all the restaurants around it. The next street over also has a decent supermarket and convenience store. At the end of the street is also the Cavour metro train station so very easy to get around Rome for €1.50 per person. Air conditioner worked great and the apartment had a washer (no dryer though). Dislike: the host only messaged through VRBO and never provided a Whatsapp number to get quicker responses. This made it challenging trying to organize the check-in process when there was a national train strike. The host took 2-3 business days to respond to VRBO messages. The bathroom definitely needs a deep scrub as there's mold/mildew on the shower curtain, and in the shower grout lines. The bed was as firm as concrete and could use a foam mattress topper. The apartment also let in flies and mosquitos somehow so the perimeter should be sprayed with mosquito repellent. Overall because of the location, the apartment was great and would stay again if the mosquito problem was fixed, bathroom deep cleaned and bed made softer.

The apartment has an expected chic modern interior. It was clean though it has a certain moldy smell when you enter which the candles helped in reducing it. It has ample natural lighting in daytime which was cool. The kitchen wares and dining sets were so useful. The sofa was quite comfortable but for taller individuals, I had to crawl out of it. Overall, the apartment was a comfortable place to stay in. Market and metro are 2 minutes away. Would definitely stay in again.

Mediocre experience

We stayed at 3 VRBO properties on this trip to Italy, and sadly this was our least favorite. The check in went fine, although it was VERY quick and we didn’t quite yet know what we didn’t know. There is a thermostat as you would expect to find. We fought with it for a couple of hours, thinking it was working but responding slowly, until we later found the remote control that operated the A/C unit directly. Would have been nice to know. Would have taken 10 second to tell us. The apartment is very humid. There is a weird collection of random objects, but missing some essentials. There is plenty of artwork hanging on the walls, but no napkins, paper towels, or even a dish towel in the kitchen. There are statues and small figurines, but no wine glasses. There are espresso cups, but no espresso maker. Almost seems like a storage unit for housewares that won’t fit anywhere else. We occasionally got a whiff of either sewage or garbage. Could not pinpoint where it came from, and it always dissipated quickly. The couch (futon) is dreadfully uncomfortable to sit on. The bed is OK. This is a ground floor apartment with 2 big skylights, but keep in mind that the unit is surrounded by other apartments. So people from those apartments could, if they wanted, look down into this apartment. We didn’t see anyone looking at us, but if you are especially modest, you might be uncomfortable. Oh, and the skylight in the bedroom opens by remote control for ventilation, except that the batteries in the remote were dead. The street is sketchy. It is a maze of broken down cars and disassembled scooters. Not too bad in the day, but makes you a little uneasy at night. They point out that there is a police department nearby. Didn’t make us feel any better about it. Also, maybe we just didn’t know how to work the TV. We were able to get only 3 stations, all in Italian. Now we didn’t come to Rome to watch, TV, but like to have it on before bed and first thing in the morning. I would think it would be nice to have included an English speaking news channel as well, as I suspect many of the guests are English speakers. Or maybe they could have left us some simple instructions. None of the issues were a big deal, but just added to a mediocre experience. On the good side, you are near the Colosseum, plenty of restaurants, and pretty close to the train station. Three stars from us for placing style WAY before function on this one.

Home away from home

This apartment is in a good location to visit all the usual tourist attractions, there are some good restaurants in the local area and it is right next to a train station, which makes things easy as the subway is not hard to use at all. The apartment has more than enough space for a couple and the small court yard is a perfect touch. The bed is very comfortable after a long day of walking. The only reason for the 4/5 star is that the apartment does have a mould smell and the discolouration can be seen on a couple of the walls.

Good location, great apartment

Well situated, 5 minutes walk from the Colosseum in a quiet street. We walked everywhere - if you are able you can walk to all the major city centre places from here otherwise Cavour metro station is literally around the corner. The apartment is perfect for 2 people or 4 close friends. It’s totally open plan. The small ‘courtyard’ is a nice bit of outside space. The apartment had all of the amenities you would need for cooking and washing, although I suspect most guests will do more eating out than in. Decor is eclectic and modern. The apartment was clean and the agents friendly and informative. A great place for a couple or small family on a short break.

Great location, that's about it.

This place is in a great location, about a 5 min walk to the colosseum, 10-12 mins to the trevi fountain, there's a metro station at the end of the street. That's the best part of the place. It was greatly difficult to contact Andrea the owner, it took up to 2 days to get a response back from her when trying to contact her. When we got there, a lady, not Andrea, welcomed us and gave us a VERY brief intro to the place, we felt like we were inconveniencing her by being there. The Wi-Fi worked well. There were mosquitos in the apartment, we got bit a bunch of times, had to kill a bunch of them. The washer worked but not the dryer, we had to hang dry our clothes, and we only had one set of towels for 5 days so we had no way to get dry towels. I don't think I'd recommend this place.

-serrure de l’appartement ne fonctionne pas bien-lave-vaisselle et grille pain ne fonctionnent pas-très humide donc pas de lessive avec la machine!Prises électriques défectueuses, manque d’adapteur! -Seulement 2 ensembles de serviettes pour 5 nuits! Pour 2 personnes!-un seul linge à vaisselle! -Seulement 2 petits rouleaux de papier hygiénique et aucun autres papiers!-À la fermeture du four l’électricité de tout l’appartement a manqué (breaker!)-Pas d’eau chaude lavabo de la salle de bain-manque de sacs pour les déchets!
