NIGHTMARE! My wife and I were left stranded at Ciampino Airport when the shuttle service offered by this hotel failed to turn up. We depended on this shuttle service, because the hotel is out in the countryside. The first time we stayed there (two months earlier), it was fine. BUT, when we booked and paid for a second visit, they did NOT meet us at the Airport at 8.15pm, as requested by us in emails, and didn't respond to phone calls. After waiting for over an hour at the Airport, we ended up having to get a bus to Rome city centre in search of somewhere else to stay. It was nearly midnight by the time we found an alternative hotel. To make matters worse, the Hotel Residenza D'Epoca Pietra di Ponente has refused to refund our payment. TOTALLY UNRELIABLE!
Stayed one night in June. This place use to be an old winery, and is really a interesting place to stay. The rooms were large and well appointed. My room was two story with a loft. The hotel is a bit out of the way, but they do provide transportation to the local area. Basic breakfast is included downstairs in the lobby. A very small (3-4 tables) restaurant is open on the second floor and served excellent meals. Hint.. Ask to see the old wine cellar.
We arrived in the evening, and left early the next morning. This was a stay intended to get us closer to the airport, and it served that purpose. It's a gorgeous country home, and more than we expected. We had the grand suite, and our daughter had her own loft with two beds. We had our own room, plus a living room and full bathroom. It's more space than we were used to having while traveling in Europe! I'm from California originally, so it felt like a Spanish style home, and definitely was super comfortable for all of us. My daughter said the TV was small, and that was her only complaint. DEFINITELY let them cook for you. We were a little nervous as we were the only ones eating that night, but WOW were we happily surprised with the result. Their chef has talent. Everything we had was amazing. Even our 7 year old daughter cleaned her plate. We were so warmly welcomed as if we were staying in a family member's home, and we were so happy to be able to relax before an early morning flight. I wish we could have seen the place in better light, but the sunset was amazing.
My husband and I stayed here with our families (both Italian and Irish) for our wedding in Rome in late October 2018. The wedding was in a different venue but the majority of our family slept here. We had guests with different tastes and of all different ages and the B&B went out of its way to make everybody happy. The place is beautiful and very unusual. It has character and an interesting history to it. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The view from the garden of the Rome skyline is amazing. The B&B has quite a large and beautiful garden that guests can use. The most spectacular thing about this B&B and its key attraction for visitors to Ciampino and Rome, is its staff. Every person that works there has innate customer service skills. They are welcoming, kind, very patient and absolutely accommodating. They saved our lives and helped us out of several stressful situations on many occasions during our week long stay for the wedding. They made our wedding very special and we will always remember their attention and kindness. The whole place feels like a home away from home (without the tacky overfamiliar superficial tourist welcome that you get in other hotels). The staff (from the owners, the wonderful women and men on the front desk, the lovely people who drive the hotel transport, the lady who set up for breakfast and dinner, to lovely Anton, the resident chef in the kitchen) are fantastic. They go above and beyond for all guests and they do it because it is not only good customer service but also because it is the Italian way. The majority of staff have a good grasp of English so communication for English speakers is not an issue. If you want real Italian hospitality in a beautiful and unique environment then this place is for you. The B&B has a shuttle bus that will pick you up from Ciampino airport and drop you off for free. The shuttle bus will also bring you to and from Ciampino train station free of charge where you can get direct trains into Rome Termini Station (2 stops away only) for €1.50 each way. The food in the restaurant is beautiful and rated as some of the best food we ate in the city. The menu is varied, you can tell it is made with love and there seemed to be something for most tastes on it. My husband I will always remember our stay in Pietra Di Ponente as being a wonderful and memorable experience. We would without any hesitation encourage people from all over the world to experience the hospitality for themselves. We will definitely be going back.
We stayed at the hotel for a week from the 26th of October to the 2nd of November for the first five days there were 20 of us in the wedding party we arrived late on the 26th we had arranged to have a late dinner for that evening. The staff and the owners could not do enough for us we all had a very good time staying at the hotel.
A nice small hotel in a beautiful setting. We booked this property because they advertised a restaurant open for dinner. When we arrived we found that the restaurant was closed. We were very hungry after our overnight flight. The hotel arranged for us to eat early at a local restaurant. The next day a couple arrived from Sweden and also were also disappointed that the restaurant was closed. We had a superior room and the entry was outside the reception hall. You could get wet going to you room. They do not plan to reopen the restaurant. Also our room was not cleaned on Sunday.
We stayed overnight in this hotel prior to a flight. They transport you to and from Ciampino airport. The hotel is in a quiet location, set on a hill overlooking Rome. Room was excellent and very comfortable with good and quiet air conditioning. Breakfasts excellent. No evening restaurant but they run you to a nearby excellent establishment. First class staff who were very helpful and professional.
My daughter and I stayed here our last two nights in Italy. We were surprised at how beautiful this place was. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They even offered free rides to the train station or local restaurants. I cannot recommend this place enough. Oh! And the free breakfast was magnificent!
I stayed here for one night at the start of my trip to Italy with my family for a wedding and absolutely loved it. We were collected from the airport in a comfortable people carrier. They had to make two trips as there was 7 of us. Its about 20 mins from the ciampina airport. We arrived at around 10pm so food was not available in the hotel. The bar was closing too but the lovely girl in reception set us up with drinks and nibbles before she left. She was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were full of character and the beds comfortable. I had booked a room for 3 and my 9 year old son was thrilled with his bed in the loft style room( in picture) The grounds had plenty of shaded areas for sitting and relaxing. It didn't seem to be walking distance to other restaurants/shops so a car would be necessary I think. We were only there for a night and had a transfer booked so didn't explore the area much. The views from the grounds were fantastic, overlooking Rome in the distance. Breakfast was fine, continental with cold meats and cheese. Service was again very efficient and friendly. Overall I was sorry not to be staying longer and will definitely return to this beautiful spot.
Stayed here for two nights during a 4 day trip to Rome , one being the first night and the other being the 4th night ! On arriving late the night time porter booked us in very quickly and carried the cases to an upstairs room , we had hired a car so there was no need for a hotel pickup ! This hotel is only 15 mins drive from Ciampino airport ! In the evening as you will see with the web pictures that it is very nice looking hotel , it is actually a winery which has been converted ! First night upstairs room was very basic but very authentic also ! Room was very clean and towels and linen were very clean . On the 4th night we got upgraded to a junior suite (FOC) which I must say was very extremely spacious and very clean !breakfast was very nice and fresh and if I’m being very honest here the staff couldn’t be more helpful and the young man on reception has very good English ! If you plan to tour Rome I would make this one of your stops if your flying into Ciampino airport , it’s well worth a visit ! I will certainly return here if I’m back in Rome
