From the minute we walked through the door we were made to feel part of the family. Our luggage was taken from us at the door and transported up to the top floor where we had booked a room with a terrace, it was lovely to sit on the terrace with a drink. I do feel sorry for the gentleman who had to carry our two cases up four flights of stairs (75 in total) We arrived early (10.30) after leaving our cruise and on the off chance asked if we could leave our luggage with them until we could check in at 2pm. Instead we were offered coffee and breakfast and told that actually our room was ready and we could check in now. Breakfast was wonderful there was everything you expect from a continental breakfast and if you asked you could have scrambled eggs and lovely crispy bacon as well. This truly is a gem of a hotel. The rooms are well appointed big comfy beds good tea and coffee tray, good bathroom lots of wardrobe hanging space and a good quality room safe, very helpful staff who gave us a map and directions to all sorts of places The hotel is situated literally two minutes from Piazza Navona one of the main Piazzas in the area there a lots of tourist restaurants in the Piazza but with a little exploring you can get into some of the back streets where there are some wonderful eateries not to mention the gelato shops Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful hotel while visiting your wonderful city
The perfect location in Italy ..charming, local neighborhood vibe with sweet little boutique shops and good food. And the staff at this hotel, the best!! We rented a top floor with our own balcony and I felt like we had the experience of living in Rome. There were lots of stairs to walk, but again, makes you feel like a local and you get to walk off all that cheese! My only tiny complaint was the lack of a full length mirror in the room and I didn't care for some type of room perfume they sprayed the first day- but after I told them, they stopped using it. I loved the French doors and the authentic, traditional feel of the room. And the pillows were amazing.
This hotel was a great place to stay! It is in a really good location - right by Piazza Navona. There are a lot of good restaurants in the area too! The staff at the hotel are amazing as well! Everyone was so nice and went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were taken care of. There is no elevator but they help you with your luggage. The breakfast and coffee every morning were delicious too! Our room was a great size and so was the bathroom. The shower was very small though. We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay somewhere with a true Italian feel!
We could not have asked for a better place to stay while visiting Rome. It was our first time in Italy and we took the advise of a friend that this was the area to stay. As so many do I read countless reviews of many hotels and got more confused with each one. For some reason Residenza Canali kept attracting me. Finally I booked and let me tell you I have no regrets at all. From my initial contact with Stefano and then Serena they help immensely with our booking and even arranging a pickup at the airport. The hotel is hidden away off the main streets but so convenient. It is a small boutique hotel that captures the charm of the area perfectly. We were on the top floor (4th) which had an amazing patio we could sit out and enjoy the beautiful days and nights. I cannot say enough about the staff. I'm sorry I don't remember his name but the gentleman who carried our luggage up the 4 flights and then greeted us every morning in the breakfast room was a complete joy. Serena was alway ready to give directions, recommendations or advise on the city. She, as well as all the staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.
We have stayed here twice now, once a few years ago and most recently in September. It has become our favorite hotel in Rome. The prices are reasonable, the staff very helpful and friendly and the rooms clean and modern. In addition, the location is fabulous. A two minute walk to the Piazza Navona and about 15 minutes to the Vatican. Though near the bustle of the Piazza Novona, the hotel is in a very quiet area. The only (minimal) drawback is the lack of an elevator, but the hotel staff are more than willing to help tote those bags up the stairs.
Stefano, Serena et al were very hospitable. We found the Place to be very comfortable, quiet and the location is just superb. They arranged for transportation and early breakfast , as well as a late check-out for us.
This is the best place to stay in Rome. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel. They have a fantastic breakfast and they even provided us with a driver to the airport when we left. The rooms are very comfortable and the hotel is in a great location.
The staff was extremely warm and friendly! They were so helpful! They took really good care of us! The room was perfect and close to everything! We enjoyed it so much! We would definitely recommend this hotel!
We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely hotel upon our first trip to Italy. We arrived travel weary and tired and were given a warm welcome and invited to go have a drink or something to eat from the breakfast buffet. We didn't expect our rooms to be ready at 1030am but were told that they could put us in two rooms instead of the one we had booked. We were given the kids rooms to drop off luggage and clean up and when we returned we were put in a lovely suite. So two rooms for the entire stay which was lovely. The rooms were clean, quiet, comfortable no complaints. The breakfast was lovely and they had fresh squeezed orange juice and would make you coffee to order. Just lovely, our best breakfast in the three hotels we stayed during our trip. Highly recommend, the stairs are doable. The location was fantastic, just a walk to the Vatican, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon. My only suggestions would be if the hotel could provide a list of recommended places to eat as we found it hard to find a non tourist restaurant and were looking for something more authentic and that's easier said than done!! If we are lucky enough to return to Rome I would stay here again!.
I previously wrote a review of this property in 2013. My family and I have been staying at Residenza Canali every year since 2005. This past July, my friend and I stayed here for one night before traveling onward throughout Italy. About two hours after we checked out, the staff called my cell phone to tell me that they found a ring (my ring) in the room - the ring was a family heirloom containing precious stones. Needless to say, I was beside myself! As we were returning to Residenza Canali two weeks later, they promised me they would keep it safe until I returned. Sure enough, when we returned a few weeks later, the first thing they did was hand me my ring. I can't say enough how much I appreciated their honesty in this matter! The staff could not be nicer. We had a wonderful 4-night stay during our second round this summer. They were very helpful, allowing me to use their computer to print out opera tickets, assisting with luggage, etc. Again, as I stated in my 2013 review, this is our go to hotel in Rome. After my experience this past summer, I will definitely always return!
